Damfino! I suppose it would depend on whether draining the L2 required removing and splitting the gear case or simply draining the case with a drain screw. I've had mine for a few years and have never needed to add or drain the oil. If you have to add gear oil, I'd say you have a leak somewhere, and adding L3 without draining shouldn't be a problem. If you're making a long-term commitment, however, it's a different story. You should drain the old gear case oil and replace it with the new L3 during the term of ownership preservation/maintenance. They should be backwards compatible if that is the case. You can also reach out to Ariens via email.
It's a type of oil.
Depending on how frequently you use your snow blower, a single bottle should last several seasons. To lubricate the gears, only a few drops are required.
Karen, I would recommend using lubricant as directed in the machine's manual, as this is a critical component to maintain. "Only use Ariens L- lubricant for special gears." 00008000 (Part Number 2) "Please note that you DO NOT fill this gear case to the brim."

I couldn't find this product at any of my local big box stores, and it's the recommended gear box oil for my snow machine, which I've had for eight years and never checked the oil level in. It took a few squirts to fill it all the way up. br>I'm glad I was able to locate this item on the internet.
gearbox for a stage blower Delivery was on time. The product performed as expected and allowed me to refill the gearbox in my Ariens 24" two-stage snow blower. I wish the spout was smaller because it is nearly the same size as the gear box fill on my machine when it is at its narrowest, making it difficult to vent while filling.
It's a lubricant for the gears. It accomplishes the task at hand.
It's an auger's gear lube. It's what the producer has to say about it. For my Ariens snowblower, "experts" suggest. It appears to be a more advanced formula than the L2, as well as being backward compatible. br>br>This stuff must work because my machine continues to run like a champ. Rather, it's more like a 3ft powdery destruction turbine. slush- as if it were a disaster.
On the internet, it is much less expensive.
For Ariens snow throwers, this is the lube to use to top off the transmission.
or almost anything else, for that matter.
I needed a replacement and couldn't find one, so I purchased this.
