I returned this item shortly after purchase because it no longer held the pole in place after lengthening it; the pole would simply slide, and the cams were cracked. Made for a low price. Replacement cams are usually available, but I'm not sure if they are available on this website. The diameter and whether it is inner or outer are all that is required. Good luck

I bought this thinking that a three-part telescoping pool pole would be a better option, and it may have been in terms of strength, as the pole has held up well for the few times I've used it and hasn't bowed under any pushing across the pool with it extended or anything. My problem is that the pole's locking cams have deteriorated to the point where they no longer hold the pole in the desired position. They simply slip when you turn them, even if they are properly tightened, resulting in the pole collapsing on you as you push it across the pool. There were small cracks in both of the locking handles, as well as marring marks on the pole itself, which I noticed. I was dissatisfied because I had high expectations for this pole. My other poles have lasted more than 20 years, but this one has only lasted a few months.
This item has made me extremely unhappy. It's all very flimsy. It fell apart and slipped every time, proving that it was not as tough as advertised! The material is very light and thin. Instead of asking for a refund right away, I waited until I needed it again and was so disgusted that I decided to ask for a refund, only to find out that it was no longer returnable due to the item's short return period.
The cam does not hold, as it does with so many telescopic poles. The tube began to slide in after a few strokes of the pool brush. The two parts separated at one point, and the brush, which was attached to one end of the pole, sank to the pool's bottom. Why don't manufacturers use screws to secure everything in place instead of gluing with loctite? This appears to be a straightforward and practical solution.
What I didn't like about it was that it was far too flimsy for even light use. Once or twice a week, I brush the pool and use the leaf skimmer. The pole wasn't able to last more than two months before it was bent. It began to bend after about ten weeks, and in less than three months it had weakened to the point of being worthless. I kept the pole almost the entire time inside, which was a complete waste of money. Don't buy. For my next pole, I'll go with a different company.

There was nothing noteworthy about it. I also have four additional poles that I acquired from various sources. They're all twisted or broken in some way. According to my calipers, they are all no more than 40 millimeters thick. A minimum thickness of 35 millimeters is also required in some cases. This new one claims to be even more powerful. According to my calipers, the maximum thickness is 40 mills and the minimum thickness is 30 mills. I don't see how it could be more durable than a standard pole unless the aluminum is of a different alloy.
This pole was twice the price of the previous one, and it bent on the first use with a tiny 10x10 leaf skimmer, indicating that it simply cannot support its own weight when fully extended. Because it was delivered on May 19 and it is now June 19, Amazon says I am unable to return it. The manufacturer is supposed to provide an unconditional warranty, ("TWO YEAR - 100% Guarantee of Satisfaction : Buy with confidence, because if you're not happy with this item within a year of purchase, we'll refund or replace it. Package: 1 x Pool pole that is thicker. "), but because there's no way to contact the seller like with everything else Amazon sells, the "guarantee" is useless. You have been forewarned of this danger.
I required one to replace a pole that had broken in half. In ten years, I've gone through about two poles, and this isn't something you should have to replace on a regular basis at home. Because the first one oxidized, changing the size of the pole on the sleeve cuffs was nearly impossible. When I tried to fish something out of the pool with my replacement pole, it snapped in half. As a result, I was looking for one that advertised, describing the metal gauge as thicker and, hopefully, stronger. I have to agree that the pole feels heavier than my previous poles because it requires more effort. It's heavier than my other poles, which I assume is due to the thicker metal. Let's hope it stands the test of time.
