Put the handle over the rope. Whenever the basket needs to be removed, simply lift the handle up through the sock. Despite being stretchy, the sock allows you to lift the handle just enough to get out the basket. It's easier to use this method than to remove and replace the handle, or to wrap the sock around the raised handle of the sock.

They're not falling apart and the quality is quite good. My opinion is that they function as they should. Every week or when the water has been extra dirty, I change it out. At least once, if not more than a few times, the masks can be rinsed and reused. Then we might try washing them in the washing machine. But, we don't have any dryers. I don't think that would be a good idea because they would all go into the pool. There is a hesitation about these and why I have given them 4 stars because I don't really understand them. Neither dirt nor oils are really able to be captured by the screens to a point where I can get them out of the pool when I wash. The filter will no longer pull the sock down and the dirt, etc, are released back into the water if the filter is turned off.
