Questions & Answers

Is the pole 12 inches in diameter or 12 feet in length? Doesn't it say both in the description?

12 inches in length This little hand skimmer is adorable!

Is it able to float?

Yes! We use it in our hot tub to catch any flying insects. It floats nicely! Has lasted several months of fairly heavy use and constant exposure to the elements.

Will this filter out small particles like dust and pet hair that float on the surface of the water?

Yes, fine items such as hair, small leaves, plant needles, and other fine items work best.

Will this pick up silt and decomposed material from the bottom of the fish pond, or will the netting break under the weight of a 5-pound fish? Do you have a ten-pound load?

The handle is only 15 - 20 cm long. The length is 20 inches. Unless the fish pond is small, it would not be able to reach the bottom. a depth that is not excessive I'm not sure how strong the netting is. I used it to clear the pool of bugs. However, I later upgraded to a model with a longer handle.

It can pick up even the tiniest particles! I'm a snob when it comes to small details
5/5

My inground pool is in the shape of a kidney. There are three of them. a half-foot to a five-foot 1/2 ft. I simply enjoy floating around in a pool with a noodle or float (depending on the temperature). Anyway, there's always debris from trees and birds, as well as bugs, and this is my net for removing it all while I'm in the pool. That's exactly what it's good for. I included a photo of tiny ants as well as other debris. The mesh of the net is fine enough to capture even the tiniest of particles. As I previously stated, I am a very picky person. Is there anyone else as picky as I am when it comes to food? br>br>UPDATE: It's been a year, and it's still going strong! My pool nets take a beating from me! They are also put to a lot of use. Owner of a swimming pool for the past 21 years This product is fantastic!br>Last photo shows a year-old net that is still in excellent condition!.

Great for keeping the dogs out of the trough! I bought this to replace the first one I bought for cleaning out a horse trough several years ago
5/5

It was used to filter out leaves, alfalfa, and other debris (bugs) that would otherwise end up on the 300-foot-long conveyor belt. The water surface of a gallon trough. A long- The skimmer would have been too long and unwieldy if it had been handled. I was thrilled to discover this one with a short handle. My only gripe is that there is no way to hang it from a hook. br>br>Because my horse stepped on the original, I had to buy a replacement. I'm sure it would have been fine if it hadn't ended up under the horse's hoof; this is clearly not the manufacturer's fault. br>br>Despite the fact that I no longer own a horse, I still find this useful, which is why I replaced it: as mentioned in my headline, to skim debris from the top of the dogs' water trough, which helps keep their water clean and eliminates otherwise unnecessary trough dumpings/refillings Because the dogs enjoy swimming in their trough, this is a must-have for skimming off any debris that floats to the surface. It's small, so I keep it in a 5-gallon bucket. I can't hang it up (and I don't want another animal to step on it and ruin it), so I'm using a gallon bucket (it does stick out the top a few inches).

It does the job, but it's not perfect
4/5

From the moment I opened the package, the white end cap did not stay on. I'm worried that if I use it without it, it might cause rust, so I keep banging it on, hoping it will stay this time. Otherwise, it's perfect for skimming the tiniest insects that fly into my 66" diameter stock tank pool, just like Mama Bear's chair. The size should be just right, not too big or too small. I gave it four stars because it's new and I'm not sure how long it'll last. There's also the cap at the end. That is annoying, but I do recommend it in general. well.

It's ideal for a hot tub
5/5

I'm very pleased with it - It's what I use to get rid of calcium flakes and scale buildup. The white cap was missing in some reviews, but the one I received had a white handle cap. It's just right for my 250 gallon hot tub. br>br> I had some calcium flake buildup that was nearly impossible to remove because the filter was becoming extremely clogged as a result - I got like 90% of it out after about 2010 minutes sweeping through the water - a significant improvement br>br>For a hot tub, it'll suffice. However, I'm not sure it'd work well in a pool. br>br>Ben br> br> br> br> br>.

This pool net is very good
4/5

This pool net is very good. It's essentially a blue net sandwiched between two plastic pieces held together by one screw, and it feels a little cheaply made, as I could see it breaking over time. Fortunately, things like this are easy to fix, and I suppose it's better to have plastic so you don't have to deal with rust. I mostly bought this because of its size; it's the perfect size for a spa-style set up, and every store I went to only had full-sized pool nets. Please keep in mind that this is about 24'' tall. For the most part, I found it to be a satisfactory product.

The netting is of poor quality
3/5

When the netting was first used, two holes appeared near the handle at the bottom. I wasn't expecting it to last long for the price, but after the first use, I was pleasantly surprised. The white cap at the bottom of the handle is constantly falling off as well. I would have returned it if we had intended to use it for anything other than a hot tub. I'm not going to buy it again, and I'm not recommending it to anyone!.

Small size, low-cost materials, and a reasonable price? It's small, about a foot and a half long and maybe a foot wide; for the price I paid, I expected it to be bigger, but that's my fault for not reading the specifications
3/5

I purchased this for my children's small pool, and while it serves its purpose, I was hoping to keep it for a larger pool. I suppose it's fine for surface debris, but not for anything too deep. You'd think for the price, you'd get a deceny extendable model if you doubled it.

REVISED: Customer service was excellent, as evidenced by the following review: update: They dispatched a substitute
4/5

Because the new one was shrink wrapped with product packaging, it appears that we may have received a rejected one. It had an end plug (not particularly secure, but at least it was a new product. ) There were two flaws: The handle is an open piece of hollow metal tubing, which is the most notable feature. I've never seen a home item that didn't have some kind of closure at the end of the pole: Anything will do, whether it's a plug or a rubber grip. I kept looking through the package to see if anything had fallen out. So bad! TgAt is a complete shambles. The other issue was a blunder on my part. While I chose a short skimmer to use in the spa to catch the small spring plant droppings, it is simply - When I'm not at the spa, I'm a few inches too short to teach the farthest corner. As a result, I don't recommend the length, but it was my fault.
