Questions & Answers

What is the size of a micron?

It is not a filter; the micron data refers to the size of particulate matter that can pass through a filter; these are simply cloth that aid in the removal of large debris.

Is it necessary to replace socks on a regular basis?

They can be reused for a long time; during cottonwood season, we check them every other day and rinse them out before reusing them. You should replace your socks as soon as they become flimsy or have a small rip.

Is it possible to wear this sock outside of the basket? Use of a pond pump ?

I've never tried it, but I see no reason why it shouldn't work. Because the sock would be pulled into the filter system, I can't do that for my inground pool application.

Is it possible to use these on the pump's filter basket as well?

The debris must be pushed into the pump filter basket through the side hole, where it will be held in place by the water pressure. It wouldn't work, and if the opening was blocked, debris would be unable to enter the basket. The skimmer baskets collect water, and the suction is located beneath the basket, ensuring that the sock remains in place and collects debris, including fine particles such as pollen and dirt. I'm not sure if a sock made specifically for filter baskets exists, but it would be a completely different sock.

Water that is clearer and the filter that is cleaner
5/5

I bought it not expecting it to work, but to my surprise, it far exceeded my expectations. I'd been using it for about a month and cleaning it out once a week. After a month, I was forced to upgrade to a new one. I believe it is well worth the investment, as it improves the clarity of your pool's water and saves time when backwashing it. I was surprised at how much water had accumulated in the sock after the last monsoon season in Arizona. This 30-minute session appears to be a good fit for me. Count is a fantastic deal, and it should last me at least two years. I just had to turn the sock inside out in my garbage can, shake it, and put it back into the skimmer basket on a weekly basis to clean it. It's an easy procedure to follow. I'm not sure if you can see it in the photo, but I put a small rock in the bottom of the sock while it was inside the skimmer basket to keep it from floating, and I believe this helped keep the water filtering through it without the skimmer basket floating around. I hope everyone is enjoying their summer.

It is capable of catching a significant amount of information
4/5

The item is exactly what it says it is. It collects all of the debris missed by the skimmer basket. BUT. This has both positive and negative implications. The Pros: br>br>The Pros: br>br>The Pros: br>b The bad: It catches all debris. br>br> When the skimmer sock is clogged with debris, water flow to the pump is restricted. It's possible that it's not even close to capacity. br> To avoid pump damage, make sure your system is set up correctly to allow the pump to draw water from the pool drain. I clean the skimmer sock lined basket much more frequently than the unlined basket. It may keep my filter cleaner for longer, but it takes time to empty, wash, and replace the sock. When the filter is turned off, it appears to trap air and float, so I docked one star. I stuffed a small rock into the sock to keep it in place. I hope you find this information useful.

The quality is terrible
3/5

After a day, it resembles Swiss cheese. The invention of pool skimmer socks is fantastic. This is fantastic for a pool. I was previously using a brand from a nearby department store, but it came in a 6-pack and was more expensive per sock. I figured I'd give these a shot because they had good reviews. So much for ratings being a reliable source of information. Take a look at the sock after just ONE day in the skimmer! There are a lot of holes and there's a lot of tearing going on I used to leave it in for two days with my previous brand to get more junk in it. In the other brand, I never had a single tear; in fact, I could go three days without tearing. (Take a look at the other three photos of "non-Swiss cheese. ") That was my PREVIOUS sock, purchased from a different vendor. It would be capable of capturing a TON of debris. There will be no tears. Obviously, the material quality for this brand is the worst, so stay away.
Note: I'm going to try doubling up on the sock now to see how it goes. It's probably best if you think of this package as a 15-pack, because you'll have to double up the socks to get the same level of effectiveness as one good sock from another manufacturer.

I found exactly what I was looking for
5/5

This year, I purchased a pool. The very first "true" pool. Everything was fine, but I had to replace my "C type" filters every few days or so. I don't know why, but no one has time for that. After hearing about them, I decided to purchase some. They go over the filters and skimmer like a glove. Maybe instead of replacing the filters, I'll just change the socks every day or two. I've only had them in for a day, so I can't comment on how long they'll last. I just wanted to see how far they stretch and how large of a filter they can accommodate. I didn't notice any difference in the flow of water, either.

Everything is caught by a sock
5/5

These socks are excellent and deserve a five-star rating. However, they might not be the best option for my needs - It's almost as if they're working too hard. Our pool is located at our farmhouse, and in the summer, dust is an unavoidable part of life in the country. With dust and a water-loving dog, I find that the sock must be cleaned on a daily basis. On the other hand, if I remember to hose the sock off every day (I'm still on the first one, which I've had for over a week), it keeps the dirt out of the filter - The filter is more difficult to clean than the sock.

It went above and beyond my expectations! This pair of skimmer socks is fantastic! I'm not sure why there are so many bad reviews
5/5

I've had the socks in the skimmer for weeks and they don't dissolve or break apart; in fact, they've lasted so long that I haven't had to backwash them in months. Every other week, I remove them from the skimmer, discard them, and start a new one. Algae and other gunk accumulate (which is a good thing!). ) and it's just that I'd rather throw it away than reuse it. There are a lot of them in the pack, and they're inexpensive enough to buy again. I use these as additional filtration on my handheld vacuum and dolphin robot cleaner. It significantly aids in the removal of finer silt from the pool's bottom (as opposed to vacuuming it out). This purchase has made me extremely happy!.

Made for a very low price - Quickly disintegrate
3/5

For my pool and pond, I needed skimmer basket socks. I decided to get these because of the positive reviews. Take a few months forward. The skimmer socks are of poor quality. They last about two weeks, maybe three if you're lucky, before dissolving. My old skimmer socks were only good for six months. 9 months. Three weeks ago, I wore the most recent socks. When I went to clean my skimmer baskets today, I discovered that the socks had massive gaping holes in them, rendering them useless for their intended purpose. If I were the CEO of the company that made these, I'd be ashamed of what we were producing and then selling.

A Must-Have For Any Pool Is A Skimmer Sock
5/5

I could not find a better deal on skimmer socks. If you have a pool and haven't used these yet, you should do so right away. Socks keep dust and other fine particles out of your filter. Your filter will last longer, requiring fewer cartridges, cleanings, and backwashes. I had a sand filter pool for 15 years and had no idea what socks were. It was my fault, but no one had ever mentioned them, so I had no idea what they were. I now use them on a regular basis, removing the skimmer once or twice a week to either rinse it (which is simple) or discard it if it is full of debris. Each one will be for a few weeks. The amount of "stuff" that the sock collects will surprise you. For pool maintenance, this is a must-have item. This book comes highly recommended.
