It's water-resistant in my opinion: The wicker is porous, and the side and bottom panels aren't water resistant at all. The top has a sheet of corrugated plastic on the underside of the lid, which keeps rain from falling straight down but not from blowing sideways. I'm using it to store cushions in a partially covered area, and it's worked out well so far. For the winter, I'll keep it inside.
Yes, it's extremely durable. On top, we have a soft pillow that we use for sitting; it comfortably fits two people.
Brown is the color of ours. We did, in fact, order brown, if my memory serves me correctly.
Dark Brown instead of black. It appears to be in good condition.
Selected User Reviews For Crosley Furniture CO7300-BR Palm Harbor Outdoor Wicker Storage Bin, Brown
For our outdoor cushions, we really like this storage bin. Our cushions are dry, with the exception of a few water drops, even after heavy rainstorms. The wicker is of excellent quality, and it only took my husband about an hour to put together. This is something I would strongly recommend. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> The hinge on one of the doors sheared (broke) in half. I figured getting a new hinge would be the simplest solution. I called Amazon, who forwarded me to a seller, who forwarded me back to Amazon, and so on. No one was willing to work together on a simple solution. Instead, Amazon is sending UPS to collect the storage bin, which is still assembled, and then refunding my money. After that, I'll have to repurchase the unit, which I intend to do because it's that good. The idea of having to put another one together will irritate your husband. I rate the seller two out of five stars. Customer service is poor.
These work reasonably well and are aesthetically pleasing, but they do not offer waterproofing on anything except the lid, so your cushions will get wet in a windy rainstorm because water will come through the sides, as other reviews have stated. In addition, putting it together was a bit of a challenge-- I had to drill a couple of my own holes and force some of the pieces together because they didn't line up according to the directions. It seems like anything you buy from China has pieces that don't quite fit together, holes that aren't drilled through properly, missing drill holes where there are supposed to be predrilled holes, and so on.
Although not completely waterproof, this container serves its purpose well. It has a lot of space (due to its size) and coordinates with the rest of my Crosley furniture. br>br>I was aware of the waterproof aspect when I bought it, but I had intended to use it under an awning first. I didn't realize how big it was until I saw it up close. The first major downpour came in from the sides. Is it really that difficult to line it with the same lining as the lid? That's exactly what I'm thinking. It's cheap, and there's clearly a process for it already, albeit on a smaller scale for just the lids.
Rust has broken the legs, rusted the hinges, and I have runt on my paver bricks. When I called, they asked if the outdoor chest was left outside, which seemed like a silly question, so I said yes, and she said they recommend covering it. I asked if she made a cover for this large storage bin, and she said no, and they don't say anywhere that you should cover it. br>Buy this only if you plan to use it indoors; otherwise, it's a nice storage chest.

This is where I keep all of my gardening supplies on my covered patio. For the most part, assembly was simple; however, have a partner assist you when attaching the lid to the hinge because it's a pain to get on! It's also not waterproof. If you plan on storing anything important in it, keep that in mind. Overall, it is lovely and of high quality. Adults and children who are lighter in weight can use the bench as a seat.
It's both appealing and durable. Most people will find this insufficient as a bench. Anyone over 6 feet tall will have issues with their feet dangling if they sit on the top because the frame is the only thing that provides support. It could be used as a 'hope chest' for bedding or as a coffee table for serving platters.
One of the three metal hinges was out of alignment and needed to be bent back into place with a hammer. The washers labeled "K" in the hardware list that came with the product are the incorrect size - The outer diameter is too large (unless you're okay with installing the screws with bent washers). Instead, I had to dig through my toolbox for the right size washers. One of the holes in the frame was misaligned, necessitating drilling into the metal frame to enlarge and align the hole, allowing the associated mounting screw to pass through and be properly seated. I would not purchase this product again unless the manufacturer corrects these unjustifiably sloppy errors, or unless you, the customer, are willing to do the additional work described above to compensate for the errors. With the extra tools, it takes about a half hour longer to put it together.
