Questions & Answers

Do I put this out in the winter or in the summer?

Hummers will begin arriving at their season's start soon. The females are the ones who build nests. In spite of the start of the nesting season, they often continue to build into it if the nest is destroyed by a predator or the If it is in season for a second nest or eggs, then in the next week. In front of a window, I hang one of mine under an eave near a feeder. Several are also found under another feeder on the front porch. The roof must be protected The fabric, if it gets wet, does dry, but it doesn't function quite the same way. It is fun to watch them feed and then pull on the nesting cotton. At least one package of refills is empty from mine each year. Take a look

In what amount do you get paid? Are there suet holders that can hold it?

About 9X13 inches in size, it comes in a package. In my case, I cut them so they could be attached to As an added bonus, bright duct tape was added to attract

The cage is also included here, or is that just a misconception? Here is a picture of the refill only. The following update My company contacted me, and a refill is all that's required. An attempt is being made to change ?

In this case, the Songbird Essentials SE 7018 Hummer Helper Cage AND Nesting Material Refill is described. There is no truth to this statement, it is neither misleading nor It says it is included in the order, but when I received it, no cages were there, even though it clearly states that they are part of it. Could you please do the item justice with an accurate description? The cage is not included, as indicated in the description. The refill is only included.

What does organic cotton look like? Is it free of pesticides?

Although I do not know why or how, I have hung this for the past three years and the hummingbirds and finches have made nests every year with it

This tiny bit of refill material is not worth your money
3/5

For the past few years, I've purchased this product a number of times because it's such a great product. The birds seem to eat it up, so I constantly need to replenish the supply. I was completely shocked when I received the refill this year. Specifically I received a very thin rendition of the nesting material I'd received in the past. After spending so much money, I would have expected more. The next time I order this product, I won't make the same mistake. The package I purchased was the only one I purchased. Songbird Essentials is no longer a favorite brand for me based on this picture. It shows HALF of a bag of a different brand (cheaper) offered on Amazon versus the unopened package of this product.

Spending money that is wasted
3/5

The product has been purchased by me several times over the past few When nesting season began, it used to be a nice, thick wad that lasted the entire period. Rather than a wire cage, all I got this time was a very thin sheet of the same stuff I put in the wire cage before. A bird got to it, and it easily fell out of the holes because it was too easy for it to be pulled out in large strands when it came to take it. This has resulted in the majority of it now being It's a very disappointing experience. Getting my money back is important to me, but how do I do it? Unless I gather bits out of the flower beds, it is impossible for me to send it back. You won't lose your money if you don't!.

This is a nesting material refill for hummingbird (or bird) nests
5/5

This is an excellent Those who help nature will be rewarded. My two wire hangers are now stocked with three refill packages. Today, I was inspired to leave this review after a hummingbird was plucking nesting materials from a tree. This is a damn shame- So happy I was that I was near tears. Also, I used parts of this stuffing to make a fresh nest for the doves who return year after year to the same spot on my covered porch.

This is a very flat description
3/5

It is now time for the Upon refilling the cartridge, I was surprised to see how flat it was. A refill is only a quarter of an inch thick when compared to the original about 2 inches This is a very disappointing experience and is not worth the price. Don't be foolish!.

He is a helper with hoes
5/5

As part of the Hummer Helper, I have placed the Hummer Helper out for the birds for the second year in a row. In addition to hummers, I also see other birds taking advantage of this food source. Hanging it isn't an option for me because of how much it moves around, which makes it difficult for birds to use My tree's branch has a holder that I place in the middle so that they can land there and get the food.

It was totally different than I expected
3/5

Although I do not know what this is about, I got a Ziplock bag filled with wood shavings instead of what is pictured. Wood shavings are being hand stuffed into bags. Who is doing this? There is a huge bag of this stuff on the ground, and it appears that someone is dividing it up for re-sale. I will return as soon as possible!.
