Questions & Answers

What is the swivel capability of this chair?

The chair is swivelled. On the bracket, there is an adjustable screw knob that you can tighten to make it more resistant to being swiveled around by critters.

In what dimension and at what distance between the mounting holes is the mounting plate mounted?

There are four plates on the table. The size of the paper is 5 inch by 2 inch. In addition to the mounting holes, there are 1 1/8 inch space between them

Is the rod diameter the same as that of the rope? It looks like 1/2" of veneer, but is it thicker than that?

This pole is not shown how strong it is in the picture of the review of December 5, 2012 . The diameter of the wire is 1/2". It let me tell you that I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived. noticed that the hook was very heavy I had never seen anything like it before. Although I did not use the enclosed screws, it is an impressive product. I agree with the reviewer I referenced. It may be of help to you. This is "Les"

What is the distance between the feeder and the wall? I assume the pole is 36 inches tall, but how far away is the feeder from the I appreciate it! ?

There is actually a difference of 42 inches between what you assumed and what the pole actually measures. You can set the pole to the maximum angle you want. From the deck or whatever, it should be 36 inches away from you! That should help a little. I have six of these on my deck, and they all work fine! I am very impressed with how tough and durable they are!

In every respect, she delivers
4/5

A total of three of these were purchased for my newly installed feeder system. The hardware that came with the item did not match the description of the hardware as told in the reviews, so it is possible that the company has addressed the issue. I cannot speak to whether they have done so, however I did invest a tiny amount of money in my own hardware to mount them. I am using a heavy weight, but the arms are strong enough to support it. Others have mentioned this also. Among the most heavy feeders in my backyard is a Brome Squirrel With Buster Plus, you get more for your money The load There are several pounds in there. It looks as if that feeder is bouncing a little as its arm flexes in the wind, but its hardware has remained The arms are covered in a vinyl coating and are sturdy. In the end, this made it easy for me to add an extra hook to the arm, mid way through The cable consists of a simple ring with a threaded hook (which I picked up at my local wild bird store for free) for hanging a jelly feeder (in the winter, The disadvantage is that smaller birds aren't able to perch on the arm due to their small size. The bigger birds can use it, and squirrels can climb on them. (Note that these are not advertised as squirrel-proof. Here is evidence). This is at that length, squirrels cannot get to my feeder without leaping or climbing to it, which is helpful, as they have trouble, getting to my feeder. A feeder like this is guaranteed to work. It was a good investment in purchasing these long arms. I am not sure if it is clear from the product description, but the 36 inches referenced is not the length of the arm but the actual distance from the wall or post that the feeder hangs from. If I measure from my post to the center point of the feeder, then it is three feet long. Since the arm is so long to accomplish this, it is much longer than normal. I think that the screw mechanism is reasonable, and it holds pretty tightly. There is one feeder in the field that sits perpendicular to the breeze, and I do have to keep it tight in order to prevent wind damage. in order to swing it back and refill that particular feeder, and so far I have been able to accomplish this without any trouble (though I wonder if the vinyl coating on the arm that must help to grip the screw will wear down over time). It has been very pleased with the product. Please check out the attached photo (cedar mailbox post with three of the product attached) for an example. The following updates were made on October 21, 2014 It's now been over five months since I wrote the review, and my verdict stands. Occasionally I should refill one feeder that I must swing toward me (it gets refilled every two to three As long as it's not too cold, the swing continues to swing well, although now that it's getting colder it's a little harder A fundamental part of the arm runs Although the wind could blow it at times into a new position, it hasn't happened often, which was a pleasant surprise considering the length and leverage of the sail.

The item seems excellently built and is sturdy
5/5

All in all, I am delighted with it. There is a lot thickness in the piece Measure between 5" and 10" ) and supports a substantial There are 12 cups in the bird feeder shown in the picture We have a couple of large Blue Jays and Woodpeckers that land on 15 pounds of seed. There is a bounce to the arm and the feeder under the weight, but that's all. There is no easier way to assemble the mounting assembly. The only thing you have to do is make sure the barrel the rod goes into is leveled, not the frame the rod is The only complaint I have with this hanger is that the mounting holes are almost obscured behind the barrel on the mounting plate, making it nearly impossible to attach any other screw than the provided one. It is easy for these screws to strip out due to the philips head and not the It would have been nice to have tried any of those three. Here's what I'll do We intend to implement this in the spring once the deck has been stained.

This is a great way to hang a bird feeder or hanging basket on a deck or wood post
5/5

In the beginning, I purchased two of these to attach to the tops of two 4x6 posts on It was important to me that they provide a clean appearance in addition to the length and distance they would provide from the deck so that I could The screws that come with the posts are essentially worthless (they easily snap off or bend when they are installed), so I gave up on them and used #10 3" screws for pressure treated wood to mount I didn't need to unscrew the arm to refill the feeders as I could swing it over to the deck. I wanted this. Exactly as I wanted it. There are heavy poles and mounts on every example- The responsibility. They can easily hold several pounds of bird seed even in my largest feeder. It's not easy for squirrels to get a grip on the poles thanks to the diameter and smooth finish, but the diameter and smooth finish do present somewhat of a challenge to the trees' ability It would take too much time and effort to catch the squirrels, so no big deal. The same reasons apply to birds as well as squirrels since they have a difficult time landing on the poles. There has been some discussion as to the 36" reference, which isn't the distance from the wall or post where the feeder hangs, but the distance from the arm itself. Due to this, the actual arm needs to be longer in order to achieve A heavy screw knob mechanism is another heavy component of the screw knob mechanism The responsibility. The wind has not been an issue since I swing the arms back to the deck weekly. I don't tighten the straps much as I swing the arms back to the deck weekly. It is simply a matter of tightening the screw knob enough to prevent it from falling It is certainly possible to use the screw knob if you need the arm to remain in a constant position all the time. The majority of the time I have not needed it. I am very pleased with the results in general. I even bought 2 more and set a 4x4 post in my back yard so that I could hang some hanging baskets from it. About ten pounds go into each of the baskets, and they It is possible I may purchase a couple more to mount on.
