Questions & Answers

Please let me know if you can keep these worms for food for my axolotl. Do I have to store them in an environment where they will ?

We ship our worms in 100% dry peat moss so that in the winter they won't freeze, and they won't cook in the summer. Their condition is extremely dehydrated when you get them, and as soon as they are brought to you, they need water and a living environment. The order I recently received was a little under 1000, but all of them were alive and in good shape with only the requirement of

It's interesting to note that these parasites are from Pennsylvania. The plants will be planted in an organic garden where I live in Florida. Is it okay to use them in Florida?

It is only natural for me to have worms in the worm farm that are from West Florida. It has done so well in my raised herb beds that I've placed some in them after 4 months and they're also doing well. However, you must keep the soil moist, and I do add some compost to the soil.

In what worm-filled compost bin should I put a certain quantity of worms?

According to experts, you should take one pound of it. An area of one square foot is home to a quarter of a million worms. Using our example, a bin of 1 foot by 1 foot by 1 foot is 1 square foot (forget about the height), so you would order 1 pound. There are worms in the tank. Two feet by one foot could be your bin if it's two feet long and one foot wide. If you want 3 lbs of worms per square foot, multiply 5 feet by 3 feet. The weight is calculated by the number of worms, but I have no idea how to calculate it. Although I dont know how many red wigglers weigh 250 or 500, I am certain that they are a lot of them. Please share with us if you know anyone else that does!

The number of worms per pound is about how many? Comparing these is proving to be difficult. I appreciate it! ?

There are probably more than a thousand of them

Do You Really Know How Many Worms You Have? It is everything that Uncle Jim's looks like, but it is not everything that he does
3/5

As far as I can tell, it did not come in the fancy box that it was advertised in. There was no fancy packaging. Brown was the color of the But the sack and instruction sheet were great, so I gave it a 3 out of 5. Almost every aspect has been overlooked and I would have given 5 stars if one major problem hadn't been present. The first thing I noticed when I reached into the bag to pull out my worms was peat moss with a few worms scattered about. There were no worms in the area. I wasn't trying to create trouble, just telling it like it is. 250 worms would have covered the palm of my hand at the very least. It is obvious that you need to check that your workers are up to date on the latest quality standards, as I was definitely I have to mention that the worms I did get were all alive and odor free, so I have rated this product as five You may already have lost me as a customer in light of this, so I hope it was an isolated incident. As of November 1, I plan on purchasing 500 more Africans, along with another 1000. Having to deal with these issues is setting me back, because I have a time management plan for my business, as well as all the other items I will need to get everything up and running, while my budget is very thin, especially with grandchildren around. Uncle Jim, just to clarify, I am not looking to cause trouble, but I am not happy with where things are right now. Now, I am going to have to grow more worms with the first batch I made.

I think they could have died a lot faster! At the time that I received this package, I was in the middle of cooking
5/5

As soon as I opened the box, I set the bag on the table for about 15 minutes until I was ready to release the worms. At that point, there didn't seem to be any signs of life. Having waited while my pizza was prepared, I read the directions. When I was eating, the book said they would be half dead on arrival, so I ignored them. When my boyfriend saw it suddenly, he asked, "Is that one of the worms?". I saw the creature squirming around on the table, all bent on freedom. In some way, the knot at the top had been able to get untied. Even though I am the type of girl who will chase my little brother around with a garter snake, I was very excited when I saw that wormy on my plate! From the window on the other side, the bag was illuminated. I peered inside from the other side through the bag. There were live worms and they were As they climbed the interior of the bag, it looked like they were zombies. My pizza was odor-proof, at least I believe it was. Before they stole my pizza, I came to the rescue and tossed the escapees into my compost bin. It has been a joy watching them munch on dead leaves and turn them into plants It has been about two weeks since I last ate nourishing poop. The product I purchased is of good quality.

It may not be as easy as you The first step is to Exceptional customer service! My first set of worms arrived in poor shape and died within Uncle Jim's sent me a new batch after I asked them to do so

Active and Alive (though skinny due to shipping)

I like the way they look on their bed, and I followed all the directions (read Henry Owen's book for more information. This page is from Lee's Kindle Edition "How to Start a Worm Bin" ) I've got shredded paper, damp paper, grass clippings, crushed egg shells, coffee grounds, and several air vents. To control the temperature, I keep it in my garage. In spite of this, when I checked on them before going to bed, some had escaped, and they would have died if I did not return them to their Due to their dislike of light, I decided to leave the light on in the garage for the night. These creatures are unlikely to want to leave the box overnight. Those who are just starting out are advised that there are many things that It is possible for worms to die, do to weather conditions, or to be infiltrated by insects. A surplus of food is a bad thing, a lack of food is a bad thing, too.
He also has a worm farm in which he works out all the kinks. You'll need to do some research to setup a successful worm bin in your home. It was a pleasure doing business with you. I am looking forward to getting my flower garden ready for the new season with awesome compost!.

Make sure you read the fine print before purchasing! When I received mine, they smelled horrible and most of them were dead
3/5

When I examined them closer, I discovered a mite infestation. Since they are so small, it would be hard to even notice if you dump the bag like it says. Be honest I'm sure that a lot of people have the same infestation, but just aren't aware!.

The books I bought earlier this spring total 250 copies. It is now the end of September and they are doing well! The weeds keep coming despite the fact that I split them twice already. About half of them, compost and all, I put into either my garden or compost bin every couple of months. Food scraps are all they need to get back to their original numbers, so no time is wasted. It seems like I will be able to keep them going for quite a while at this rate. I keep them outside in a plastic tub and so far, they have endured quite well. Even in brutally hot days, the worms seem to burrow down below the compost as long as they are moist. I actually left the worm box out in a rainstorm on accident and to my dismay, the bottom was literally covered in They were just like new after I drained off the excess water, added some shredded newspaper to dry them out, and wiped them down. In addition, it has been cooler nighttime temperatures lately, but this seems to have no impact on them at all. will bring the bin inside over the winter just to be safe. Other than that, they seem very The smell is earthy and composty, not a strong odor like a perfume. I was worried that it would be too strong, but I don't find the smell overpowering. My experience has been that as long as your food scraps are under the compost, there is no odor, fruit flies, or any other pest problem. As a whole, I am very pleased with this purchase. I anticipate that my garden will also be pleased.

After receiving my order of 250 composting worms, I immediately rehydrated them per the seller's instructions and placed them in an already established composting pile

By the next day, I noticed that only about ten of those 250 worms were alive. Most of them were tangled tightly together or fanned out far enough that it was evident that they were In response to my contact with the seller, a photo of the dead worms was requested. Video and pictures that clearly show they are dead are attached. The video shows only one or two worms moving, and the pictures show them in unnatural, dead positions that clearly show they are Emails sent to the seller were never responded to. The refund request I tried to make through Amazon was also not responded to. If you don't want to spend $30 on hundreds of dead worms and poor customer service, you should look for somewhere else to buy worms.
