As I have been sharpening chains for years, I did not use the sharpening guide, but I can see how it would be extremely helpful to someone who is either new to sharpening or who is unable to keep their hand still long enough to get the right Using these bits on a chain that lost teeth due to finding nails in an oak, I was able to restore the cutter teeth without wasting a lot of chain life. There is only one issue I have with the system, that it would be nice to be able to plug it into my older truck while out getting firewood if I hit a bullet or something in a long and need to sharpen right By using this sharpener, you can turn a process of changing chains that would take 20 minutes into a mere 5 minutes A chain that has already been welded to the bar will be sharpened. the fact that the chain does not have to be removed from the saw to sharpen and that the bar and saw are not damaged in any way by this sharpener. In addition, it would be nice if the cutting tool had some sort of light built in to aid in visibility of the teeth. At my shop, I recently changed it to a bench under a light so that it would be easier to see. It worked just fine, but it would be nice if the unit was portable then you could use it whenever you wanted. I bought this tool rather than buying all of this stuff from other companies like Stihl since it is much cheaper. When packing it around or traveling, you can keep everything in order with the foam cut outs in the box. The ease, convenience, and speed of this method make it highly recommended for anyone looking to sharpen!.
I love it. I like how well this sharpener was put together. My chainsaws won't need to be sharpened as often as I need to buy replacement blades every other tree, The only complaint I have is that furniture customers should be provided with a guide on chain sizes in order to understand the settings very clearly. Thought it was an excellent product.
I included a photo of everything I got in the box when I got it today. The instruction sheet gets you a video and a book that you can download when you scan it. Check if the collet wrench spins true after tightening the bit after fitting it with the collet wrench. It was necessary to do some loosening and re-adjusting As you tighten the bit, it will get stronger. With the sharpening guide that you can attach, there is a Phillips head screw you can loosen and adjust the cut. I started by placing the original file into its holder and observing where it cuts. Then I adjusted the guide so that it cuts the same as my original file. Sharpening the chain is much faster when using this tool. Doeas a great job, but you have to practice with it a bit. In this tool, you only get one 5/32 bit, so I was unable to use my chain. For a bit over $8, I got a dozen on Amazon. To me, it is definitely worth the effort.

This grinder has a broken speed selection dial, so it starts screaming at full blast. The anchor wrench is too small and doesn't tighten very well, so be sure to wear safety goggles since spinning grinding wheels can fly.
