Questions & Answers
It's not just the shell that makes a difference. This item appears to be a Ryobi P145 Lithium battery set. The Ryobi Lithium batteries found in the P122 are superior.
Yes, this battery is compatible with all Ryobi tools, including the blue one.
This is a question that should be addressed directly to Ryobi. To respond to your question, it is dependent on how and with what you use the battery. Every scenario and tool drains a battery differently. For example, a small led light can drain a battery for up to 24 hours, whereas an 18v shop vac can empty it in as little as 15 minutes.
Yes, these are P197 batteries, which are the ones in the picture.

Over the last five years, I've purchased a number of ONE batteries, some as part of tool packages and others on their own. Despite the fact that I am a DIYer rather than a professional tradesman, none of my projects have yet to fail. They are unquestionably adequate for domestic and DIY use. They're tough and can hold a charge for a long time. It's worth noting that the bigger the amp, the better. Hour ratings last a lot longer, but they're also a lot more heavy. The smaller batteries may be a better choice for someone with limited lifting strength, while the larger batteries are available in a 2-pack at a discounted price. Pack once or twice during the year, and such sales are certainly worth watching for saving 50% on the unit price.
It isn't even capable of charging itself. As a result, I paid for two batteries but received only one.
offs. It's in the name.
The two-pack was purchased by me. One of the batteries charges, while the other does not. Of course, the return window closed because I don't use my tools very often and didn't use the second battery. If you order this item, make sure to check both batteries.
These were purchased after the original small batteries in my Ryobi drill and impact driver began to fail. I don't use my tools on a daily basis, but I do use them occasionally for small projects around the apartment. Since I was getting new ones anyway, I decided to upgrade to the bigger size. Without the fast charger, these take a little longer to charge, but that isn't a deal breaker for me. With one of the batteries, I completed about three different projects and still had three out of four bars of power left when I checked. br>br>After doing some research on the smaller batteries that had failed, I discovered that the voltage can drop to the point where the charging unit detects them as malfunctioning and refuses to charge them again. I used the new batteries to essentially give the old ones a boost charge, just enough for the charging dock to recognize them and begin charging them again. Of course, if you try it, you do so at your own risk. So now I have these two larger batteries, as well as the smaller batteries, which I can use as backups or with less energy-intensive Ryobi products like a light to use while working on projects.
My Ryobi bush trimmer and blower are designed for light work. However, the battery in these units is only good for 12 hours. It will take 15 minutes. These twins are identical (including charge lights) Ryobi batteries that fit the Ryobi charger and tools at a significant discount over Ryobi batteries (which may have lower ratings).
For my Ryobi full-size glue gun, I purchased these 4-hour batteries. I keep a glue gun in my "busy bag" for those times when I need to keep my mind occupied for a long period of time; for example, this week I was in a waiting room for 6 hours and my full size Ryobi glue gun and these 4 hour batteries kept my mind occupied during that time. Yes, I would buy these batteries again, and I love the Ryobi glue gun for which I bought them.
