Questions & Answers

Where can I get a blade scabard?

For the entire tool, I created a cover. My wife stitched the distal end of the garment (the ankle / cuff end) after I cut off one leg of old Levi's. Place the entire tool inside and hang it from one of the large "S" hooks. All good!

Is the 4 amp up to the task of pruning rose bushes?

It will, I am certain. Rose of Sharon and holly bushes are among the plants I prune. Love it!

Is it effective on blackberries as well?

I can't answer that because I don't have blackraspberries, but it appears to be a tough little machine. It was used on a brittle old hedge. It was difficult, but it got the job done.

Is there a "lock on" switch on this trimmer?

No, there is no lock switch on this unit, Trish. A lock on the switch (for continuous run) design is not an option due to certification issues.

This is a fantastic trimmer with a 4-year warranty, which is two years longer than the Amazon listing
4/5

This was purchased to replace a Little Wonder electric 30" single-sided hedge trimmer that had died after many years of service. Because it was a fraction of the price of the Little Wonder unit, I was curious to see if this unit could "do the job. " I put it to the test for two days in a row, and it performed admirably. Now I'm a contented man. br>br>Here's why I gave it four stars instead of five:
1. It was advertised as cutting 1/2" material, but the instruction manual stated that it could only cut 3/8" material, which I believe is more accurate. br>2. I needed to make a short adapter for the multi-adapter because it required an extension cord with a round female outlet. On my heavy-duty extension cord, I have a female outlet. TIP: If you're going to make your own adapter cord, make it at least 4 feet long and slide a section of old garden hose over it before connecting the connector. This will keep the electric cord away from the trimmer blades.
3. The cord retainer is ineffective, especially if you're using a high-amperage extension cord; I simply tied a loop around the cord end and never had any issues.
4. The instructions made no mention of lubricating the cutting blades, which I find suspicious, despite the fact that they did warn against getting oil on any of the plastic components.
5. During the time I used it almost continuously on both extremely hot days, the motor housing did not even get warm.
6. Because the plastic guard is held in place by small screws, it is one component that must be handled with care.
7. Although it takes some getting used to, the rotatable back handle is extremely useful.
8. The trimmer should have come with a plastic/nylon blade protector that could be slipped on and off during storage.
9. To make storage easier, the trimmer should have a built-in hook on the back handle.
10. I wish they had a 30" 5 Amp unit because some of my hedges are taller and I'd save time by not having to pass through them multiple times.
11. It has a Limited Four-Year Warranty, according to the instructions. Year Warranty (rather than the two years listed on Amazon), so I'm even happier that I purchased the extended warranty, which is valid for another two years after the original warranty expires! (See image. )
12. The unit arrived quickly, in a form-fitting carton that was then packed inside a larger carton, so everything was in good working order when it arrived.
13. It's a lot lighter than my old Little Wonder, which makes it a lot easier to use, especially as you get tired near the end of the day.
14. I like the red strip down the center of the blade because it is also highly visible, making it safer to use.

It really works
3/5

until it's no longer useful About a year ago, I purchased this trimmer. I used it a few times during the summer with no problems, and I pulled it out again this week for spring trimming. For about three bushes, everything was fine, but then the motor began to fail - at first, it would simply stop. I assumed it was either thermal overload or that my hand had slipped off the trigger. Neither of these claims turned out to be correct - With the trigger firmly held, it would soon stop and start at random. I was able to narrow it down to an issue with the rotating trigger/handle assembly's electrical connection to the motor. The on/off action, which had previously appeared random, could be triggered by slightly rotating the handle. This tool's downfall appears to be this feature, which is a nice feature. I'm going to call customer service.

Hedgerows that have gotten out of hand- This is something you should buy because it enjoys eating them! The previous owner had left us with a lot of bushes and vegetation in our yard, and I had been trimming them with a manual hedge trimmer for two years
5/5

Well, after my sore back and wrist nearly fell off the next day after using them, I decided it was time to upgrade my life and get a tool that would make my chores a little easier to handle. br>Let me tell you about Devastator. This bad boy can cut through almost anything I throw at it. What you get for the price is fantastic. I've only used it three times so far, and each time it's completely destroyed any vegetation in its path. It slashes through bushes, small tree limbs, a grassy shrub, and I'm sure it'll chew through the electrical cord if I let it. br>It's a good buy with a good warranty (which I haven't had to use), is reasonably light, and performs as expected. This reviewer gives it a two-thumbs up.

SUCCESSIVE USE AN OLD MODEL 22122 HEDGE TRIMMER
5/5

22. The Greenworks Dual 4 Amp Inch Inch 4 Amp Inch 4 Amp Inch 4 Amp The Action Corded Hedge Trimmer ("OLD" Model 22122) is a high-quality hedge trimmer. Hedge trimmer of high quality with a plethora of useful features. *Please note that this trimmer is currently available in two models: "OLD" (22122) and "NEW" (2200102). The Greenworks Corded Hedge Trimmer "OLD" Model 22122 is the subject of this review. For a variety of reasons, I believe that the "OLD" Model is FAR BETTER than the "NEW" Model. First, unlike the "NEW" Model, this "OLD" Model has a Rotating Rear Handle, which makes trimming the sides of hedges and bushes much easier to handle. You'll never want to use a trimmer without the Rotating Handle feature again. It really does make a difference! Second, the "NEW" Model is 7. 4 pounds lighter than the "OLD" Model. While the "NEW" Model 22122 weighs in at 5 pounds, the "OLD" Model 22122 is only 5 pounds. 7 pounds. This model is nearly two pounds lighter than the "NEW" model. Please believe me when I say that this is true. If you need to do a lot of trimming, losing weight will make the job much easier and less exhausting! Despite the weight reduction, both models are equipped with a powerful 4-cylinder engine. a motor that isn't prone to bogging down When cutting larger-scale projects, slow down or stall. branches of various sizes Finally, compared to the "NEW" Model (which has a cut capacity of 9/16"), this "OLD" Model 22122 has a slightly larger cut capacity (5/8") than the "NEW" Model. Even though it's only 1/16" bigger, the "OLD" Model 22122 can handle a lot more branches and twigs than the "NEW" Model 22122. The "NEW" Model is one of the most recent additions to the company's product line br>br>Overall, I am very pleased with my Greenworks 22-inch monitor. Dual 4 Amp Inch Inch 4 Amp Inch 4 Amp Inch 4 Amp "OLD" Model 22122 Action Corded Hedge Trimmer I bought mine in early July of 2020, but it saw a lot of action on our 2-year trip to Europe. It's on a 10-acre property and it's great. I recommend grabbing one of these "OLD" Models before they sell out, because the new model is a disappointing downgrade from this one!.
