Questions & Answers

What battery generation does it come with?

Mine came with Gen 2 (Gen 2 is no longer being produced). There are no longer any 0ah Gen 1 batteries). On October 3, 2020, I made a purchase. The trimmer, battery, and charger all had the same serial number sequence and were manufactured in July 2020.

What is the model number for this item?

The box and paper work have the model number HT2411 on them. The tool's model number, as well as the owner's manual, is HT2410.

What makes this model different from the 2410?

Hello there, and thank you for your inquiry. The HT2411 differs only in that it includes a battery and charger. The only thing the HT2410 is is a tool. Thank you for reaching out to us with your query.

What's the difference between batteries from generations 2 and 3?

Hello there, and thank you for asking such a great question. The updated circuitry in Generation 3 includes a fuel gauge feature that shows the battery's remaining charge in a more accurate manner. If you require any additional assistance, please contact the EGO team at the following address: 855- 346- 5656 Thank you for reaching out to us with your query.

I purchased an EGO blower over a year ago and have been very pleased with it
5/5

If I use it on high, the battery life lasts about ten minutes. I usually keep it on low and only increase the volume when necessary. I do run out of battery every now and then, but it is not common. br>When I discovered that EGO makes a hedge trimmer that uses the same battery, I knew I had to get one and give it a try. For years, I've used a corded combination of gas and electric. The gas is loud and heavy, and when I use it, my dog chases after it. Electricity is more convenient, but it requires a cord, which I've cut several times like most people. br>In terms of weight, the EGO is somewhere in the middle. You don't notice the weight once you've gotten used to it. It has a safety switch on the "D" handle that must be pulled closed before it can operate. Is there a second safety switch on the handle, in addition to the on/off switch? To start the device, you must use both hands. I used tape to override the "D" handle switch; one safety switch is sufficient. Because of its light weight, I can extend the unit out with one hand while cutting. br>I ran a full charge test on the battery to see how long it would last. I've included photos of the hedges and plants I trimmed with the first charge. The battery stall hasn't gotten any weaker; in fact, it appears to be as strong as it was when I first started. There are no more hedges for me to trim. I'm curious as to whether the battery will slow down or simply stop. I'm not sure when my blower will stop, but I'll find out one day. br>Because I'm 77, the trimming took a few days. I can't go an entire day without stopping to rest and drink a beer. My conclusion is that I will never run out of battery in a single day. If that happens, I'll use the blower's battery as a backup. br>The only way I could see someone using the battery in a single day is if they had someone to assist them in picking up the clippings and allowing him to cut all day. If that's the case, I'd recommend purchasing the EGO variable blower and using it as a backup while your primary battery recharges. After all, you'll need a blower to get rid of the small leaves and trigs that fall to the ground. br>PROS: no cord or gas, light weight, one-handed operation (if the "D" handle safety switch is overridden), battery life, and blade sharpness. Yes, I almost forgot to mention that the blades appear to be razor-sharp, and they cut like butter. br>CONS – the safety switch on the "D" handle is the only drawback. br>I hope this information is helpful; I wish I had discovered it earlier.

Good Hedge Cutter without the need to worry about cutting the cord
5/5

That's the first like. The cutter appears to be capable of handling most any hedge or shrub. I apparently expected to receive a Gen 3 battery, but instead received a Gen 2 battery, which doesn't provide any information about the charge state. So, in order to maximize battery life, I'm making some assumptions: I'm assuming, based on the articles I've read, that the battery run time (for one charge) is 40-45 minutes. It will take 45 minutes. Also, based on what I've read, the idle time for the battery before it drains to 30% (automatically) is 30 days. I've started sticking a post-it note on the battery after each use with the time I've used it (roughly) and the date. This way, I'll know I need to charge the battery if I plan to use it after the 30-day period has passed. If I intend to use it before 30 days have passed and the battery hasn't been charged for 40 minutes, I must charge it first. br>br>I believe that the new equipment should only come with Gen 3 batteries because they give you an idea of how much charge is left. I wouldn't need the post-it note if I had the Gen3 battery. Before using the battery, you would simply check its relative charge. Was this new hedge trimmer, battery, and charger supposed to come with a Gen 3 battery? br>br>Recent changes: br>br> I measured the voltage after 60 minutes of use and found it to be 50 volts (well within the safe limits), so I keep track of my usage (sticky note on battery) and recharge when I get close to the time limit.

In the case of a woman - It's simple to use and light
4/5

Following my sister's advice, I recently purchased an EGO blower. I've had bad luck with battery-operated equipment in the past, and as an older woman, I need equipment that isn't too heavy or difficult to use. I bought the Hedge Trimmer because I was so impressed by the blower's long battery life and power. I'm so impressed with this Hedge Trimmer and the EGO line that I was able to complete a task that would normally take me an hour to complete in the past in just ten minutes. I finished a day's worth of work. In an hour and a half, I completed a lengthy task. And when I was finished, the trimmer's battery was still charged. Exceptional work - capable of tackling some difficult branches This product comes with my highest recommendation. br>br>Update: The trimmer has been in my possession for four years. The battery won't charge after 5 months - It appears to be defective, which is disappointing given that the battery alone costs 3/4 of the total cost of the set. As a result of this update, I've taken a star off my rating.

This is an excellent hedge trimmer
5/5

This was purchased for the purpose of clearing land and landscaping around my house. It performs admirably and, as an added bonus, it uses the same battery system as my E-Go. Now is the time to chainsaw. On the 2, it's quiet and lasts about an hour between charges. It came with a 5-amp-hour battery. The total weight is br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br My 77-year-old mother can handle it safely without any problems because the balance is good enough.

It's a lot more convenient to use than corded headphones
5/5

I've owned or used a few corded trimmers, and the difference between the EGO cordless trimmer and a corded trimmer is significant. You get all the power and cutting ability without the hassle of dealing with cords, cutting them, or tying knots in them to keep them from pulling out of the trimmer. Because one charge is sufficient for a lot of trimming, unless you're a professional landscaper, you're unlikely to want or need a second or larger battery. EGO, you did an excellent job!.
