My 89-year-old mother was concerned that it would be too heavy for her to carry. I'm delighted to hear it worked out for you! Is the trigger simple to pull, as she suffers from severe arthritis in her hands?
I'll assume the question is, "How long can I use an extension cord?" " I have no problems using two 100 foot 16 gauge extension cords together to make 200 feet of cord.
I only use a small amount of 20w oil on the cutting bar before and after use. It's likely that any oil or liquid lubricant will suffice. The goal is to reduce friction and keep the metal from rusting.
This is a very basic hedge trimmer, so it won't do the job without some effort.

My father had an electric hedge trimmer that, according to him, didn't do much. It was completely useless the first time I tried it. It's more like a bush massage. As a result, I learned to use manual shears from him. It was a bit of a pain to track down one with straight blades that actually cut. After watching a few yard-care videos on YouTube, I decided to give an electric trimmer a try. Because of my previous experience, I assumed I'd need to spend $70 on one of the larger ones to get one that could truly cut. The 24" (or is it 22"?) ) B& Because D's were out of stock when I was ready to buy, I bought this one based on the reviews, hoping it would live up to them. I was sceptical because of the low price. br>br>Insert parting clouds, sunbeams, and trumpets into the mix. Hey, this thing actually cuts! I cut what would have taken a couple of days with shears in 20 minutes. The greens waste bin space was the limiting factor. I had to stop after stuffing a couple of them. Furthermore, shaping the bushes was much easier, resulting in a better-looking bushes. br>br>I used a 100' "contractors" extension cord I purchased on Amazon; in fact, I purchased two different cords for different uses, so I tested them both and found that both sockets fit the trimmer. I had no issues with the cording popping off because the wire fit in the retention hook hole. It struggles to cut thicker woody branches (perhaps a half-inch thick). inch), but that's fine because it matches the description. It appears to be a mutually beneficial arrangement. off. You give up a lot of weight and ease of handling in exchange for being very light. a higher amperage motor's cutting power and the reach of the 22" and 24" trimmers This one is great if all of your bushes aren't much taller than you are and you don't have to reach too far back. You may require more power and reach if you have large bushes with thick branches. br>br>This purchase has made me extremely happy. Less effort, higher productivity, less time, better-looking bushes, and all for a low price.
This hedge trimmer has two prongs, and the extension cord has a large piece that is designed for a three-prong plug but is too large for this hedge trimmer. Amaxon listed an extension cord that is incompatible with it, which I find surprising. I have not yet had the opportunity to use the trimmer, but I believe it is critical to emphasize that the correct type of extension cord must be ordered in order to use it.
If there's one thing I've learned from online shopping, it's that many "high hopes" purchases end in disappointment. In this case, that was not the case. The hedge trimmer performed admirably and without a hitch. I was consistently able to move it around the shrubs like I "almost" knew what I was doing because it was easy to manipulate and make nice cuts. My extension cord came dangerously close to being severed a couple of times, but that was due to my lack of skill rather than a problem with the trimmer. br>br>Having recently undergone open heart surgery (three months ago), I was hesitant to use anything heavy for fear of further traumatizing my chest. Don't be concerned: The trimmer is so light that I didn't feel any strain at all while using it. The yard is looking fantastic once more! After that, I was fine. This is a hedge trimmer that I strongly suggest.
I'm very pleased with it; it's light and easy to handle, and it easily prunes my shrubs and trims my 10' tall cyprus cedar! I'm 76 years old and wish I had purchased one years ago!.
I put on the guard, took it outside, plugged it in, and began trimming the hedges despite the motor's weak sound. It worked for about three seconds before ceasing to function and beginning to smoke! I disconnected it and will return it. I guess I just got a dud because this tool has a lot of good reviews on Amazon.
I'm a 5'2" gardener who enjoys spending time outdoors. Years ago, I used manual hedge shears to maintain the bushes around my house. . . you can imagine how sore I was after each yard work session. br>br>I finally made the decision to look for an electric hedge trimmer, and I ordered one from Amazon. I was pleasantly surprised to find a well-known brand (Black and Decker) at such a low price and with such a high number of positive reviews. This edge trimmer is simple to use, lightweight, and assisted me in completing the task in a fraction of the time. . . with better results. br>br>Hint: if you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, try using the words "innov Don't forget to order a long extension cord when you place your order.
I was expecting a lot from this trimmer. I've had a lot of success with Black. In the past, I used Decker equipment, and it worked fine for about 20 minutes. During the first 20 minutes, it did exactly what it said it would. After that, there was silence. It died. I had all of the necessary electrical connections in place. Fuse or circuit breakers were not tripped. It had already passed away. I went online and read through all of the frequently asked questions.
Sad. I responded by returning it.
Because of the brand name, I decided to purchase this trimmer. After the second use, it quit working. Blade became entangled in the web. I decided to fix it myself because I am a retired repairman. It should have been simple given my previous experience with such a tool. I didn't give a damn about the warranty. The blades became entangled in the eccentric gear. I figured it wouldn't be a problem if I simply replaced it. No, Black and Decker doesn't sell that part, and they don't sell much of anything for this trimmer. It's of poor quality and, in my opinion, should be discarded. Customer service is also nearly non-existent, as I discovered. Save your money; this, in my opinion, is not a good option. My old Craftsman trimmer, strangely enough, lasted for more than 25 years.
