With this hedge trimmer, I discovered two things: First impressions aren't everything, and I'm not much of a hedge trimmer. br>br>The product was battered and stapled together in a haphazard manner. When I opened it, I immediately recognized it as something that had been purchased, used once, and then returned. When you buy something new and pay for it, you obviously expect it to be brand new. This thing appears to be quite small to me as well. 16 inches isn't a particularly large blade, and it appeared to be much smaller in person than I had anticipated. Would it be possible to saw through my hedges and whatever else I could? I figured I'd just return it because it wasn't brand new, so I took it outside to try it out. Why re- order something that won't cut through hedges or isn't big enough to work with? In less than 5 minutes, I had it ready to use by plugging it into a 50-foot indoor/outdoor all-weather extension cord. It's easy to set up, and all you have to do is connect the guard and plug it in. br>br>How did it turn out? To begin with, it is extremely lightweight. I liked how light it is, but then I realized that a little weight might be beneficial. It's almost too easy to get swept up in the moment and rush, or even to use one-word phrases. handed. Be cautious, and move much more slowly than you think you can with TWO hands. In my few hours of use around the yard, the electrical cord was never an issue. br>br>It had no trouble trimming my cedar hedges, which were a nice mix of leaves, thin branches, and thick branches. Since we moved in (3 years or so? ), they hadn't been trimmed. I plan on trimming them to a rounded shape once they've had some time to fill in and grow a bit, but I had fun trying to do a squarer shape in the meantime, and this product made it easy, even though my skills aren't quite there yet. br>br>Overall, for the $20 or whatever it cost, this thing is pretty great, and I decided to keep it because sending it back would be more of a hassle than keeping the used item that was sent. It's probably a good investment if you're trimming around your house once a year and have access to an outlet and a long, high-quality extension cord. If you use it on a weekly or monthly basis, you might want to consider whether a longer blade (16 inches) makes more sense for you.
What a fantastic little trimmer this is! I wanted a trimmer that was easy to use for a woman, was lightweight, and had a blade that wasn't too long. This is perfect; I just finished trimming my first bush, and it cuts up to 5/8" with a few passes; anything less just zips right through. It is only 4 pounds. The blade is 16" long and weighs 5 lbs. I'm so glad I bought this one. I'm a 75-year-old woman who is still very active.
Keep doing it manually if you want to feel like The Hulk, but if you don't, get one of these. br>br>Because I don't have a lot of hedges to trim (L-shaped walk-in closet), I've been doing it by hand for 18 years. I thought it would be a waste of money to build a path from the driveway to the porch. I'd never used one before, and hadn't seen anyone else use one, so I didn't think I needed one. It took me about an hour to hand trim my junipers with hand shears, and when I was finished, I felt like I had the Pecs of The Hulk (especially on the thicker, more stubborn branches), then I'd be sore the next day, and my wife would poke me in my sore pecs to tease me. br>br>I had intended to "test it out" the day I received it, just to make sure the product worked and arrange for an exchange if it didn't, etc. br>I was completely finished trimming the hedges along my walkway in just a few minutes. br>This thing sliced through my junipers like butter, and I feel like a complete sucker/moron/chump for not investing $30 15 years ago. br>br>This is the real deal. It has reduced hours of tedious, inconvenient work to mere minutes. issue.
Simply create. It's light, but it gets the job done. Just make sure to oil it with WD 40 before the first use and clean it with a dry cloth after each use. About every fifth use, re-oil.
The outcomes are shown below. I was concerned that it was either too small or too weak. It did a fantastic job with this hedge. Although I am not a topiary expert, it appears to be attractive.
Take your pick! I bought it because I can't stand using hand clippers. This is a small device that is incredibly simple to use! I need to keep up with a large hedge and two podocarpus trees. We also have a palm that needs to be trimmed at the base. We can now easily trim the palm branches by holding them up. I am very pleased with this product, and it can be used with one hand once it is started.
This is a chewer who will not give up easily. wow! This was a fantastic purchase. It's only been used twice, but it's very light and easy to handle. Forsythia and other bushes are pruned with it. Also, please keep in mind that I am a complete beginner.
For the money, this is a great little hedge trimmer. Does an excellent job and trims like a pro. You couldn't go wrong for the price I paid, either!.
