Questions & Answers

Does the chain speed seem to be okay? As I have tried other battery saws, their chain speed is very slow, compared to gas saws. ?

I like the way the chain saw cuts. This is not for someone who wants to show off or cut trees professionally. You will always be able to start your chainsaw whenever you need it with this chainsaw. It's cleaner than storing gas in a tank, replacing the plug, and maintaining it, so those who like it can just turn it on when they want. Buy a gas saw if you need high speed because you work on a lumber camp near Hudson's Bay, you drive a big pickup because it gets you to your destination more quickly than a small one, and you work on a lumber camp. It may be easier to use this option if you have 45 minutes of cutting to do now and then.

The battery from the Ego cordless lawnmowers can be used for this chainsaw, right?)?

You can use all of the EGO batteries Based on my experience, I have used Those are the five. The 0 and the 7 make up the The batteries are all 5ah and work well. I have not experienced any problems with the weight of the bigger batteries, and I find they are A backpack adapter was also very useful for the chainsaw it allowed you to carry the battery on your back and decreased

How well would this work as a carving saw for chainsaws? The picture seems a bit heavy, doesn't it?

It has been seen that this chainsaw can be used to carve a lot of things. This tool is not one you will be disappointed with.

In this case, it is A battery with no more than 0 Ah can suffice Is the 2 better or should I go for the 1. ?

The two I have are the two mentioned above. The battery has two 15-amp batteries and a seven-amp battery. My lawnmower has a battery capacity of 5 ah. The second is the way to go for me. You should never use an 0 Ah battery where you can readily recharge it, unless you are not using 120 Vac power. On a charge, I get between 45 minutes and an hour, BUT it is less than an hour To ensure long lithium ion battery life, I vacuum the air intake screen on my battery after EVERY use, along with vacuuming the sawdust off the chain drive sprocket to reduce drag. After using the battery, I place it onto the small charger immediately to charge the battery. It is always a good idea to ensure the chain lubricant reservoir is Using 30 weight engine oil (new) in place of chainsaw bar oil is a recommended supplement if you don't have it. If the chains aren't properly lubricated, they move at 45mph in a linear motion, and will create a lot of friction, thus greatly compromising battery life and chain life.

Owning a car is a hassle due to several quality and reliability issues
3/5

The cut is very good under ideal circumstances. when you are dropping the spinning chain onto a log, it feels just as good. I could actually cut together a log just as well as my gas saw (small Stihl). This would be a five-star review if that was the whole experience of usage and storage. There is more to this story than meets the eye. In the following paragraphs, I have listed the problems I've experienced that have made [Oil leaking. ] When stored normally (e. g. On a shelf) the saw rapidly leaks chain oil. Because of this (and because I was unable to contact EGO support), I returned the first one to Amazon, and the new one also leaks (although slightly My plan was to leave EGO as a result of this and switch to GreenWorks, but I found out in reviews that they also leak a lot. Are you serious? The modern battery looks like this How will the world be powered by electricity? But we can't make a floor tool that doesn't leak? We build brushless motors and high capacity batteries, but we can't make a floor tool that doesn't leak? . * *2. Even in light-packed buildings - [Random shutdowns] In the course of normal duty operation, the saw starts to refuse to go when it is pulled. It doesn't matter what happens because there's no response. It's almost as if you hadn't fired a single shot. The behavior goes away after a few seconds, and the saw starts to operate normally again (for about a minute). How can this be? Is it an issue with a thermal feature? The issue hasn't bothered me much, but it does annoy me quite a bit. I also noticed this on both my original purchase and the replacement, so it does not appear to be a problem directed at me There's a flaw on the offhand. As a side note, I determined that if it's stored properly - The bottle does not leak when it is placed upside-down (on the shelf between the chain brake and the handle). 1. 2. 3. [Refuses to start if any resistance is present] Have you heard that electric motors have more torque (than gas engines) at low RPM's? It may be true in principle, but it won't help you in this case. (When the saw is standing still or is running at very low speed) the saw does not engage when there are any resistances to It's unclear whether this is a safety feature that has gone wrong or what, but you have to be extra careful not to let the saw stop in the middle of a cut or to get pinched by a shifting branch or log. After letting the chain stop or go to low speed, the motor won't restart until the saw is free, so you will be wiggling the saw out of the unfinished cut all by yourself without help from the chain or If we lived in an ideal world, you would never be pinched or stop in the middle of a cut for any reason, but that is not the case. The chain needs to spin at full speed until 100% of the wood has been removed from the saw.

A chain oiler is to be avoided
4/5

Cutting and running is smooth and good, but be assured the chain oiler won't burn out. I didn't have any luck with mine. While EGO customer service offered to replace the saw, I thought I would see what was going on inside first. The oil is fed into the saw through a tube attached to the front of the tank. As a result, neither oil nor the compressed air I used for testing could pass through the tube. It was simply a matter of removing the tank mounting screws and rotating the tank 360 degrees to get rid of the kink. With the film of oil on the chain and bar, and the chain spraying off while cutting, the chain and bar are now in great condition. *BREAKING NEWS* - There is no telling how many saws are assembled incorrectly as mine was, as this is a manufacturing issue rather than a design issue. People with no chainsaw experience may not notice the oiler not working because this chainsaw may be marketed to people who may not have much experience with chainsaws. Chains and bars are likely to overheat and will not last for long without lubrication, so take care.

Dead on arrival
3/5

The battery has been fully charged. The reservoir has been filled with bar and ice Several chains are lubricated. Making the first cut, then the saw stopped and I had to move it a few times before it resumed The battery was seated and the chain brake was checked. There is a problem with the saw, it cannot be used. Because I am not sure how well it is constructed, I did not give it a one star rating. In order to improve my review, I am ordering a replacement and will update it once I have evaluated its performance. In the meantime, let me state the following While Amazon has a good return policy, they cannot be relied upon simply to subsidize return shipping. This should be expected when a product goes DOA or fails within a short period of time.
In this case, the saw was badly packaged. An oversized box and craft paper were used as padding to protect it. We received it with the box in the process of being ripped open with all of its contents lying around freely. As a result, I had to use my own packing materials, myself as a tape maker, and most importantly - I had to return it. I reckon I have spent about fifteen minutes unpacking the saw, battery, and charger. Having a look at Batteries that need to be charged I added the bar and the buttons Normally, oil is used for chain transport Putting it to the test Initiating contact with Amazon after a failed attempt Repackaging the insert in the box that came with it printing the insert Packed in the Amazon box is the factory box. Taping it up with strong adhesive We sent the package out for delivery, and then called Amazon the next day to confirm that UPS would pick up the package (we did not receive any notification). It took us about one hour to do this. A half-hour is one and a half hours I will never be able to make up those two and a half hours. As a general rule, Amazon and/or the manufacturer should compensate customers when things like this occur. shouldn't have to waste our time because a manufacturer wants to save a few dollars by having the product manufactured overseas in a factory with little to no quality control. The fact that a product like this arrived DOA is inexcusable. How much testing does the factory do on the saws before they leave? My reply to EGO can be found in the comments below. It is important for potential buyers to see the comments since many do not read them During the day today, the replacement saw arrived and it appears to be working. There is a bar & I added The chain oil was added to the saw, the battery was inserted, and two cuts were made White pine trees that are approximately 10" in diameter and are at least a couple years old. Dry pine is not a very challenging test for saws, so I can't say how much of the battery capacity was used. With no indicator of remaining capacity or charge (aside from the green LED) this test provides no way to determine how much power was used. Once I've had a chance to use the saw till all the battery is gone, I will be back to update my review. There is no doubt that the Oregon bar and chain seem to be of It cut well, as one would expect from a new chain. (As was the tension on the first saw) The chain tension was fully adjusted. There is a similar weight to my 1985 vintage Stihl gas chain saw when fully extended - it weighs approximately 4 pounds. I tested it with the 2A battery with the smallest capacity. Whenever the trigger/switch is pulled and the motor is started, there seems to be a short delay between when it starts and when it actually It is unclear whether this was done intentionally or not. While these are 'product' reviews, not packaging reviews, it is to note that the EGO packaging was fine (as it was with the defective saw as well) while the Amazon packaging left a lot to be desired once again. An Amazon box was stuffed with a small amount of craft paper beside the factory box, and then the entire box was placed in the Amazon box. There was no restriction on the factory boxes sliding around and hitting the Amazon boxes as they slammed into their interiors. Amazon boxes contained only two (2) pieces of packing tape running along their length - as was the case with the pawn shop boxes. The bottom one is on top, and the top one is on bottom. An extended warranty of five years is generous and valuable. Do not bet against the house) for a tool like this would cost a lot. In theory, a product that is under warranty for a shorter period and never needs to be repaired is better than one that has a long or lifetime warranty and often fails. The EGO saw seems like it will be a trouble-free purchase after reading what I read prior to purchasing it. Free of charge. It is hoped that I'll never have to put the warranty to the test. I will update after I have the chance to cut some harder wood and get an idea about its run time

UPDATE* This week, we got a chance to use the saw a bit 2 is the supplied version. A 0 Ah battery stores enough energy to make a few cuts. For instance, I cut about 13 inches across an ash tree with a diameter of 7 to 9 inches in one charge. With that amount of space, you could tidy up a bit and trim a few trees. A suburban yard has enough space for a few items, but not enough to use on a regular basis. Having 15 mostly wooded acres and heating with a woodstove, we are currently surrounded mostly by forests. With the small chainsaw I use, I am used to using the Stihl brand. In practice, it's obvious that the EGO saw cannot come close to offering the same runtime as a gas saw. I did not anticipate this, but in order to use the EGO saw almost continuously, you'll need at least three (2) If the answer is 0 or 2, then. A 5 Ah battery and two basic chargers are included. I think there are two. It takes 35 to 40 minutes for a 0 Ah battery to charge The duration of the video is 40 minutes. (To charge for 25 minutes. In other words, when battery #1 is placed in charger #1, battery #2 is being utilized. While charger #2 is charging battery #2, battery #3 will be used while draining battery #2 and placing it in charger #2. Hopefully, with time, #1 will be recharged and #3 will be depleted. As far as we know, that's what we'll do. This leads to the conclusion that it is more cost-effective to buy other EGO tools in 'kits' that include If the answer is 0 or 2, then. The simple solution is to buy a single 5 Ah battery and its charger rather than purchasing two batteries and a For the basic charger, it's listed for $39, and the 2 for $49, according to websites I've checked. There are 99 battery packs with 0 Ah for $129 each. A little less than If you look at the hedge trimmer with battery and cord, you'll see the difference In a big box store, you could get the charger for $149 and the leaf blower kit for $179 (a total of 328). For an additional $30, you get both tools and an extra charger.

Using a good saw, Old Goat finds the reward of his labors
5/5

This is excellent. I am 90 years old One, I live in the woods and have owned about seven or eight chain saws, but they will no longer start. I am back in the woods now that I have a 14 inch saw! What a great idea! I am a fan of John.
