Causeway is a bad company
3/5

Do not buy from them. From causeway Motors, I bought an Echo chainsaw for Review sites provided me with a number of options before I purchased. As well as contacting licensed tree companies in my area, I also sought the opinions of the public. I called a small motors repair service near me and had them show me how to install the bar and chain when the chainsaw arrived. In the end, I did all of this in order to ensure I was informed about the piece of equipment I was using and that I took every precaution to keep myself safe. Despite the fact that I had personally grabbed the chainsaw only ONCE, it cut a tree branch that had fallen on a fence (about 6 inch in diameter) I had to keep stopping and starting because the chain brake kept locking into place. The issue with the chainsaw caused me to stop using it after about 10 minutes. Then I took the chainsaw to a local mechanic to have it looked at in order to determine the issue. I contacted the manufacturer after they examined the unit, and they said it was defective. My next step was to go to Amazon. The same day, the office processed a return explaining the unit was defective and a return label was provided to me. There is no postal fee. For the chainsaw to be returned, I was required to pay $30. Packages sent to me must be tracked, which implies they are being weighed to ship. It was very important to include all the components of the saw, including the manual and ancillary parts to ensure that the return would be as smooth as possible. As soon as the rerun was complete, I knew I needed to purchase the chainsaw again. Soon afterwards I received a credit to my account in the amount of about Upon contacting the seller, causeway, I was informed that a restocking fee of approximately $250 was deducted as the chainsaw bar had not been returned with the machine. I was also told that the chain brake was continuously engaged during the entire operation of the machine. This was the only reason for returning the item because the chain brake kept getting stuck while using it for 10 minutes. All of this detail is being shared with you so you will be warned to NOT purchase a chainsaw or any other product from Causeway, even if they claim the chainsaw has a warranty, since they may ship you a defective chainsaw and charge you for returning it when it breaks. Keep in mind I also contacted Echo, and they have a 100% warranty, no questions asked. Thus, causeway could have handed the chainsaw on to the manufacturer and solved the customers problem. Instead, you are better off going to your local Home Depot or other retailer who honors the manufacturers warranty 100%. Thus, if you buy online from Amazon, do not buy from Causeway.

no manual, and no kickback guard
4/5

Lightweight, easy to start, but did not come in an Echo box. I downloaded the manual and maybe the kickback guard is not supposed to come with the starter. But I was surprised no tool to adjust chain tension was included.

Definitely one of the best! Over the years, I have owned a variety of chainsaws from different brands, including STIHL, HOMELITE, POULAN, etc
5/5

All of the above come to mind when I think of power tools So far, this is my favorite. As a result, it is a good example of the "you get what you pay for" principle. The price of this product is about three times higher than the price of a generic Chinese product A chainsaw might look like one you might buy in a BigBox home improvement store, but the quality lets you know it was built for years of professional use, not just mass-production The product is produced at a certain price. There is a lot of attention to detail in this product, from the chain tightening to the overall fit and finish. It seems to perform on par with a full-sized model if you plan to cut a few cords of oak for the winter wood pile, but for my purposes, it seems to deliver the same results as the full-sized model In the past, I have owned similar-sized models, which act as a light saber when slicing limbs from softwood trees like moringa or heliotrope.

And that is not even the best part. This is one of the most compact and effective books ever. The balanced handle allows one to operate it with one hand!

OK, I am sorry to break the bad news now. As a result of its tiny size, the moving chain is much closer to your body than you are used to with a It is absolutely impossible to let your attention lapse for even a single The sleeves and chaps of the Kelvar jacket should be worn. In addition, it is a bit awkward to begin with since it is too small for your foot to rest on. We have to pay a small price for free.
If you do not intend to engage in a lot of tree climbing, you may be better off with the 14" chain bar instead of the 12". It is worth your while to spend the extra money on a carbide chain blade if you plan to cut a lot of hardwoods.

Please use this form if you are a professional arborist only An A-
5/5

Arborists who climb trees will find this to be the lightest saw on the market. With the handle at the top, it is very short, which makes it potentially more dangerous in the event of a kickback, putting the chain closer to your body, so it should only be handled by experts. Chainsaw that is perfect for tree climbers looking for a lightweight tool that can be maneuvered in awkward positions and can be used as a limbing saw. If you buy the Notch break, you will receive Use the included chainsaw lanyard to connect your tree climbing harness to this saw. Grade at the professional level. To sharpen it really easily, you can get a "Oregon Powersharp" kit that includes a chain, bar, and sharpening kit as well as a diamond wheel plunge sharpener as an accessory. I love working with them.
