Questions & Answers

Would you say it weighs a lot?

Despite its weight, I would not describe it as especially an old woman, 62, and I have not had any problems dealing with My favorite part of it is the music.

If you don't know how much to add, how can you judge the amount?

When the machine has been operating for ten minutes, fill up the oil reservoir I'm not sure how much the manufacturer supplies, but there's a 6 oz squeeze bottle, but there's no reservoir capacity mentioned. I would estimate it to be about one ounce.

Can you reach a distance of more than 500 feet with a power cord? Can you connect two or more cords at the same time?

It does not matter what kind of tool it is, as long as you supply the power. If the gauge is smaller with a long cord, then the flow will be restricted and the power will be brown out. There will be a lack of power and possible damage to the tool. You will be unhappy with the tool and blame it. I have never had to replace a 14-gauge cord under 100 feet, even when I needed to use it for 100 feet. In the end, it is not how far you stretch out the cord, but how long the cord itself is. You will be much happier with the performance of any power tool if you don't skimp on extension cords.

Could anyone tell me if this works for cutting palm fronds?

With the Alligator, branches up to four inches in diameter can be cut. It is possible for me to see multiple kinds of palm trees in my region. It is common to use chain saws to cut fronds all the time however, the Alligator has a closed jaw which prevents chattering that can occur when using a chain saw to cut Using a chain saw on small fronds (less than an inch in diameter) is not suitable instead, use a lopper. In general, the Alligator can be used to cut almost all mature fronds. Please exercise caution! An Alligator can only be operated by two people. You will be unable to hold on to anything for support if you cut fronds beyond reach from the ground. BE SURE TO USE PROPER SAFETY EQUIPMENT when cutting fronds that are beyond your reach.

If you are using this, keep your mouth shut! Here is a great review of a great product! As I learned while sawing wood with the lopper, you should not open your mouth
5/5

A few times I had to spit out wood chips, sawdust, and leaves! In addition to being as easy to use as described in the reviews and videos, I was also pleasantly surprised! The age of 64 has taught me how to be less agile and stronger than I was in my twenties. However, using this takes next to no effort at all. Due to the fact that it works like scissors and that you must hold it with two hands, the weight is distributed evenly, making it not at all awkward to manage. The system is also not overly loud. Upon further investigation, I found that oil does not come with the package. As I read through a government article on chain saw oils, I found that canola oil can be used just as well, and I had some in the cupboard. Although the squeeze bottle that comes with the lopper is too hard to squeeze, I let the oil drip from it into the hole on the lopper, then inserted the nozzle of the squeeze bottle into it in order to help the oil flow anywhere it's needed.
With the chain saw part of this device, you are going to be as safe as can be. To perform the surgery on a person, you would have to intentionally place a body part between the scissor-jaws It would be like guards cutting off something or even cutting Therefore, I recommend reading the 12 page manual. I believe it is extremely important to do so. Make sure you follow the directions! The article gives you sound advice and I learned of many hazards that I was not aware of earlier. As with chainsaws, it is easy to end up having a problem when using the lopper, so be proactive and prepare yourself with information so you can avoid the common issues you will encounter. At one point, I held the lopper upside down in an attempt to cut a limb, and it became removed the chain of the lopper from the partially cut limb by pulling it out from the cut end. Therefore, I needed to redo the task according to the instructions Make sure the chain is in place. The 2 nuts took a lot of force (you have to turn them counterclockwise to loosen) but once I gave them a good tug with the wrench included, they started turning. Removing the chain turned out to be fairly straightforward. To have accomplished it without incident was something I was pleased with, surprised at, and quite proud of myself for having done. * In order to ensure that wood chips and debris fall out of your chainsaw after every cut, shake the jaws out while running the chain. Once you have finished cutting, unplug the lopper and turn off the power. After you have blown out any remaining debris, close your eyes. It may be necessary to remove the two nuts and the plastic piece they hold in order to properly clear the The last piece of advice is to STOP if you get tired! When you are even just a bit fatigued, this is not the right tool to use. Unless you misjudge and end up falling on your head or slicing your hands or legs, it won't hurt. Oh - the cable! Lastly, here are a few things It caused my palms to get very sore from the vibrations and from holding the lopper handles. It didn't occur to me until after I was finished that something was happening. A pair of those vibration-protecting gloves may be worth it to me. It might be better if I don't do so much at once next time!.

The toy is fun to play with
4/5

No oil is used in the oiler It is functional. This is really a wimpy tool compared to a chainsaw, but it brings a lot of power to hand loppers. For those of you who have projects that require you to have a powered log splitter, this probably will not be the tool for you. However, you can use it to remove small branches and brush if you are just trying to clean up small items. A chainsaw has the disadvantage that its tip can hit the ground or kick back, which means you don't have to worry about that. Using this tool, you can place the branch in the jaws before turning the key. It will then self-center when the key is turned on. You can turn the feeds off and they will take care of it. This is an excellent should point out that the oiler mechanism is the worst kind of It was impossible to even get the chief engineer at Black and Decker to implement it. A little plastic bottle is sent to you, similar to what a hotel would give you for shampoo. There is a pop-up on top that completes the look We are out of A hole in the side of the saw should be forced into the oil injection nozzle, and then you are supposed to squeeze it. You have a problem since the nozzle retracts and closes when you apply pressure. I just use an oil can to manually oil the chain every few minutes, which would work even if it were possible. But even if it was possible, having to stop and monkey around with a little bottle in a tiny hole would be annoying.

An entire tree has vanished in a single day! I was really happy with them! With a chainsaw and electric power, I cut down a dense 15' tree in about four hours
5/5

There were many limbs and branches on the driveway as a result. After using the Alligator Loppers for another four hours, I reduced the entire pile to baggable chunks that went out with the recycling today. There was no easier way to accomplish these tasks. Time is worth every penny when it comes to saving time. I like how easy they are My first stop on YouTube was some video tutorials that got me started!.

The branch is kept steady while it is shaped, which I like
5/5

On 9/26/2017, we delivered the following report In January 2012, I purchased this item. This has been the tool I have used to cut branches for over five years. A spare chain was purchased, but I have not had to use it so far. The branch holds steady while it's being cut, and this is why I like it. In order to avoid a branch jumping back and forth when you use a chain saw, someone else has to hold the other end. Does it have a limit to how big a branch it can The attached picture will help you understand what I mean. One of the trees on my front lawn died and I had to cut it down. There is room for an alligator to cut through the After cutting the branches into 2 foot lengths, we were able to dispose of them in only 5 minutes. A reduction in price to $67 was noticed, so the price was revised. It's a great product, guys. Buy it. Buying it will save you quite a bit of money. Having no regrets is the best decision you could ever make.
