What do you think about using these as charcuterie boards?

Is it possible to soak and dry the planks before grilling, and then rinse them when they are out ?

They must be soaked prior to use, and they go on the grill wet if indirect cooking is used. These Coastal Cuisine cedar grilling planks have been on my shopping list for years since they are the only ones I've been able to find that are large enough for those huge center cut salmon fillets sold at Costco, which average two pounds each. The weight of the package is 3 pounds. Every one. You will be sure to like this grilling recipe that is very simple and easy. For salmon, look for McCormick Grill Mates Cedar Plank Salmon seasoning (if you're unable to find this, opt for McCormick Grill Mates Seafood seasoning, which has the same ingredients and a different name to appeal to a more diverse audience). Put a little seasoning on both sides of the salmon fillet, and sprinkle it lightly. Season the fillet with salt and pepper and arrange it on a cedar plank that has been soaked for two hours (longer is better). Set the cedar plank on top of aluminum foil to help prevent flareups. Grill covered at 400 degrees until evenly done. I have a 3 pound dog. This method will cook large fillets in 30 minutes, small fillets may take less time. The salmon will be golden brown on the outside while remaining juicy and moist throughout, and have a complex but tasty Many guests I've served this to have expressed their enjoyment of it, including a few who had been hesitant to eat salmon in the beginning.

My salmon does not hang off one side and burn when I use these planks compared with others I have used because they are wide enough that the salmon does not hang off one side and they are thicker, so they can handle hotter temperatures and.

In my grilling, I always have these on hand. In fact, they provide a really good recipe for a dry rub that I frequently cook salmon fillets with using these cedar planks. I like that they're the biggest I've seen, so farmed salmon fillets from Costco fit on one and if not, the small end can be folded Using a large cooking sheet, you can soak a plank in no time Put the plank in the pan, then use the extendable faucet to fill it enough so that it sinks when you add a bowl of water. It is sufficient to use the plank for one hour, though longer will allow you to use it more often. Amount of time 20 minutes, medium heat 350 degrees I prefer my Weber kettle or Big Green Egg at 450F with the lid on to cook the fish properly, melt the cedar smoke into a gorgeous copper color and impart a wonderful aroma, and the taste of cedar smoke on salmon is delicious! This will result in some charring on the bottom of the board, but it's perfectly fine. Several session options are available on each board. As far as making smoked salmon goes, I manufacture my own. It usually takes me 2 hours to cook it in an oven on a plank at 200 degrees. After soaking the plank for an hour, I did the same thing with the other plank. As I placed my salmon on the plank, it began to cook. As the plank dried out, I did not spray it with water and let it continue to cook without adding any additional water. A little over an hour later, the salmon was cooked. The product seems to be good so far except for the false advertising (referring to the picture).

This was a challenging plank, but I am glad I did it! This is a fantastic product! As a result, I pulled out a huge slab of salmon and grilled it on the plank

For the salmon, I placed the plank on the salmon and seasoned it, then used it to transport it for about 70 minutes after soaking it. I did not preheat the plank since I put the salmon on it and seasoned it already. In the end, the salmon had still enough surface to sit on after it had been cooked. After cooking salmon on it, I left the piece on the gas grill and will burn it off while preheating for the next cooking session. I read somewhere that this could be reused a few more times. Having a pellet smoker will also be a great way to cook lamb and pork roasts and I may even have a go at making BBQ with other planks. It was a great purchase and I'm glad I made it.

Salmon cooked in a new way is a great idea

My very first attempt at salmon was amazing. I got these today and made it this week. My Weber gas grill fits well from the front to the back due to the boards' size. There is no indication of a problem with the quality of them. It was my only challenge to find something long enough to provide them with enough time to digest. It took a 5-inch to get the job done In a bucket of five gallons. In the same way that wood chips for smoking should be soaked for a while, I recommend soaking these for at least six hours before grilling. The directions say two hours, but I soaked mine for six hours. The number of boards I used was two for four good The only thing left was some asparagus. I had two good-sized salmon filets, plus some asparagus. It is because of the blackened bottoms and smoky flavor that the boards have such an incredible Still, I think they have at least a couple more rounds of grilling in them. Despite the blandness, the salmon was well balanced in flavor and we'll certainly be providing the rest of the boards with plenty of salmon meals in the future.

Neither the planks nor my salmon had a lot of cedar flavor to them. The cedar plank cooking experience was underwhelming compared to expectations and previous I am not sure whether it is a product issue or a "me issue". My opinion really is all I have to offer.

If you use a whole salmon, they will easily catch on fire

You can buy cheaper ones at the grocery for a cheaper price, but I prefer the texture and taste of this plank. The bags could be used more than once if you soaked them longer. But you have to cook the salt if you soak them for a long time. You should keep them on for a long time and at a very low temperature in order to prevent them from catching.
