I appreciate your interest. The rod is made from a single piece of material.
I've cooked a 23-pound turkey in the past. It has a lot of power.
Thank you for contacting us; the maximum weight allowed is 20 pounds.
This is for the 22" wsm that I just bought. It doesn't seem to fit right. The smoker and rotisserie have a significant distance between them. On top of the rotisserie, the WSM lid does not fit properly. The WSM lid is not the same as the Weber grill lid. The temperature is too hot for my liking due to air leaks. Despite the fact that all of the vents are shut,

The only issue I have with this unit is that it is slightly smaller than my Weber kettle grill and has an air gap of about 1/2" around the ring where it sits on top with its feet. Because of the air gap, I am unable to control the air flow, and my fire becomes too hot. To avoid this, I have to wrap aluminum foil around the edge. If it hadn't been for this flaw, I would have given it five stars. The lid sits comfortably atop the ring.
especially when new products are introduced. This item does not come with clips to secure it to the Weber grill. In fact, it fits into the 22's rim almost perfectly. Grill with a diameter of five inches br>br>Like others have mentioned, the Weber lid sits loosely on top of the unit. To improve the seal, I added some rolled aluminum foil, but I don't like that workaround. So, in the future, I might try a different solution. The weight's thumbscrew that came with the unit was insufficient to secure the weight to the rod, so I had to dig through my tool chest for a screw long enough for temporary use. I'll contact the vendor to see if they can make a new thumb screw for me that is the correct length. br>br>And now, after receiving this response to my email requesting "a work-around," I've lowered their rating to one star. around" on the loose fit that prevents me from controlling the Weber's heat and air, as well as the short thumb screw My favorite part is when I'm wrong because I'm the first person they've ever sent a short thumb screw to or who's ever complained. . . . So it's got to be me, and I'm the one who's mistaken! LMAO! Also, read about their claims of "black smoke" and "full of juicy. Furthermore, if the internal grill body is completely sealed, airflow and oxygen cannot enter, and the carbons or charcoals will produce black smoke, which will scorch the chicken when heated to high temperatures. It's likely that your installation method is incorrect if it's not snug. The counterweight should be installed at the bottom of the rod rather than on top. Please take a look at the photos below to refresh your memory. It should be installed. ”.
I'm going to say something. They were able to solve the lip-to-kettle problem. But; but, to be clear. If you don't use a gasket (which I did from the beginning), you'll have to keep a close eye on the temperature. This will produce a delicious chicken or turkey for a fraction of the price of a Weber rotisserie. Get yourself a gasket kit and relax. The motor has a very long chord. I'm going to guess 12 feet. Overall, the Weber kit is an excellent choice.
Cons: br>The spit's plastic handle is a little flimsy. The screws that hold the motor bracket in place are low-cost and will eventually strip. With a 1/4" drill bit and two REAL bolts, however, the problem is easily solved. The stainless steel is MAGNETIC. br>br> It's less expensive than the standard stainless steel 404. However, if you look after it, it will last a long time!br>br>Overall, a good product.
Overall, it's a great product that's less expensive than the Weber model, but I have to agree with other reviews that the space between the ring and the weber grill is rather large, and if you're smoking with it, you'll lose a lot of smoke and heat. I solved that problem by purchasing some LavaLock gasket material, which you can find here, ()br>Only other complaint was that the motor stopped working after the fourth use, but I must br>I also like how it's made of stainless steel and is simple to clean. I like to keep my grills clean, especially my Weber Kettles (of which I have three). Leaving ashes in the bottom of the kettle will reduce the grill's lifespan.
I got everything set up without a hitch, and I was aware of the gap between the ring and the kettle, so I filled it with aluminum foil. (I intend to get a proper gasket later. ) The rod slipped out of the rotating slot after about a minute had passed since the chicken thighs were placed on the rotisserie. I started to re-insert the rod, but the plastic handle broke as I pressed down on it for leverage! No, I wasn't using a lot of force, and the chicken thighs weighed in at 4 pounds total. The thin metal bracket holding the electric motor, in my opinion, should be thicker and stronger. The handle would still be in one piece if the bracket hadn't bent from the weight of the food. br> On a positive note, I did notice that when the counter weight bar hit the edge of the ring during rotation, rather than stopping, the motor reversed its rotation, preventing burnt food. br> In general, I can continue to use the rotisserie, and I can always get a new handle. The ring was a lot less expensive than the other one I was considering when I bought my Rib- Latir. So you get what you pay for, but if you're trying to set up a rotisserie on a Weber or other kettle grill, this is still a more affordable option. br>Recent changes: My email was quickly responded to, and I was refunded $13. For the handle, you'll have to pay 00. They claimed that they didn't have a replacement part for the spit, so they refunded my money. A major flaw in this product appears to be the handle.
