Questions & Answers

I'm looking for a spit rod replacement. What are the dimensions and measurements from the tapered end to each of the cutaways (rounded part)?

To begin the handle, give it a tip: br>Tip to first cutout: 28 3/8" 4 1/2"br>first cutout length: 4 1/2"br>second cutout length: 4 1/2"br>third cutout length: 4 1/2"br> br>Tip to second cutout: 5/8"br> br>Second cutout length: 26 5/8"br> 1/4"br>Cutouts appear to be 3/16" diameter with a 5/16" square rod.

Has anyone tried using the ring instead of the rotisserie? I like to make beer can chicken with it and it adds height. ?

The rotisserie ring can be used without the rotisserie itself mounted to it, but it is only available as part of the complete 2290 rotisserie kit. Thanks!

People don't seem to understand how to use it with two chickens, apparently
5/5

Since 2012, I've used this kit to cook chicken, duck, turkey, pork, and beef. A second set of forks isn't required if you're cooking two chickens. Slide one chicken on from the breast up, and the other from the neck down. To hold the two birds together, use the two forks that came with the kit to press them together. You shouldn't need the counterweight if the chickens are of similar weight because the weight of their breasts should cancel each other out. This is something I've done dozens of times and never had a problem with. Grilling is fun.

It works, but the motor is weak and requires a counterweight
3/5

I was fed up with cooking my Thanksgiving turkeys the same way every year. I've always cooked turkey spatchcocked and beer-battered in the oven. I was tired of the same old turkey and wanted to try something new. I was looking for a rotisserie grill and found it. Let me start by saying that my turkeys and chickens turned out fantastically. A 10 pound chicken and a 16 pound turkey were on the menu. My family and friends devoured both of them. There's a lot of great smokey flavor here, and it's cooked and juicy. So, what's the story behind the three-star rating? br>br>The quality of the parts does not match the price; for example, the weight limit is stated to be 20 pounds in the description. The motor sounded as if it was straining under the weight of a ten-pound chicken. The engine appears to be inefficient. For this grill, electricity is required. I could hear the motor straining when the chicken's breast side was on the bottom and rotated to the top. It was even worse when I tried to cook my 16-pound turkey. As a result, I devised my own counter-attack strategy. To offset the load, a metal plate and vice-grip were used. br>br>There was also only one set of forks included with the grill. It would have been nice if Weber had included a second set of forks to allow for the grilling of two small birds. br>br>Does this Weber rotisserie kit spin the bird and cook your food?br>br>Does this Weber rotisserie kit spin the bird and cook your food?br>br>Does this Weber rotisserie kit spin the bird and cook your food?br>br>Does this Weber rotisserie kit spin the bird and Yes, absolutely! It now works, but I'm not sure how long this under-development will last. With its straining noise, the powered motor will last, according to the description of this model, which says "new and improved and does not require counter weight. " "From the sound of it spinning these two birds, it appears that a counterweight is required. br>br>I'm giving it a three-star rating because of the weak motor, high price, and lack of additional forks. br>br>It appears that putting 20lb on the description is misleading. I believe 20 pounds will suffice, but only if the weight is evenly distributed. When an unbalanced bird is placed on the rotisserie, the shaft appears to be the limit, but the motor appears to be unaffected. Please restore the counterweight to this model, Weber.

THEY BOTH LOOK AMAZING
5/5

It was given to me in 2015. I've used it to smoke over 34 pounds of meat. Pork sirloin weighing more than 12 pounds and a turkey weighing more than 20 pounds THEY BOTH LOOK AMAZING. When I get a chance, I'll post photos of both. Because the rotisserie does not sit flat, it produces extremely moist meats. This was purchased for the purpose of smoking turkey for Thanksgiving, and it was put to the test over the weekend. br>br>One difference I noticed between this unit and my gas grill's rotisserie is how stable and strong it is. It is well built and well worth the money; if you enjoy moist meats and smoking, this is a must-have in my opinion. I'm not aware of any other way to smoke and rotisserie at the same time. br>br>As of February 2016, I've used it a lot. It's still one of my favorites, and it performs admirably. For Thanksgiving or Christmas, I don't know anyone else who can smoke and rotisserie a 20-pound bird. I recently made smoked rotisserie ribs for the Superbowl, and they were fantastic! br>br>UPDATE: br>br> I went out and bought a 21. For Thanksgiving, I ordered a 67-pound bird. I'll post the results of my cooking as well as the feedback I receive when I bring it to the family gathering (as an unbiased opinion). br>So the bird was a huge hit with everyone; it was incredible. I discovered that one of my cousins was bragging about it at their college. It had to be delicious (and SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU as if it were meat for sandwiches). 11- br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br A request for more information about the circumstances and how I prepared the turkey came in. For a slow burn, I use the charcoal train method, which involves leaving a 4 inchx4 inch trail of unburned charcoal around half the bottom perimeter. The air is just cracked open at the top and bottom, but not completely shut. maybe 10- 15% gap. I toss wood chunks into the fire, which will smolder as it burns like a wick. I get about a third of the way through. Start a 1/2-full charcoal chimney on one end and drop it on the other end to start the chain and to get it hotter (around 400F). Because there is less charcoal in the trail, it will cool to around 325 degrees in the next hour. I cook the turkey for 15 minutes per pound of weight (for example, a 20-pound turkey takes 5 hours to cook). I put a water tray with some foil sticking up about 3-inches underneath it. 4 inches to create a direct heat shield between the turkey and the coals. Yes, I weighed down the aluminum foil in the water tray with a rock. Keep the foil at a lower temperature and the water at a higher temperature. If there are any details you're curious about that I didn't cover, please let me know. April 2016: br>br> I've been pondering how to make rotisserie smoked pulled pork for a while now. I'm sure some of you master chefs will roll your eyes, but I'm excited, I've succeeded, and I have to tell you about it. I had no idea something like this existed 1. It's going to take a LONG time to prepare. 12 hours, give or take, depending on the size of your butt. 2. It's a joke Cover your butt with spices and a pinch of salt and pepper for added flavor. a very small amount red pepper flakes, then saran wrap your meat and chill for at least 24 hours (this makes a huge difference). Plan on a 12-hour cook, which means you can do whatever you want all day long as long as you remember to refill the water and charcoal a few times. (Smoking is the most simple form of cooking I've ever attempted. ) It's the classic "set it and forget it" method). br> Temperature markers to look for: 160 degrees = no pulled pork, but AMAZING pork slices that are done but tender, perfect for sliced sandwiches (this was a result of my experiments). However, it isn't pulled pork). Internal temperature of 175°F; at this temperature, connective tissues dissolve and the outside begins to turn from red to black. In my experience, the pork can be pulled off at any temperature between 175 and 195 degrees Fahrenheit, but a temperature of 195 degrees Fahrenheit is best for easy shredding while remaining moist. br> Cooking temperatures should be kept between 225 and 250 degrees Fahrenheit. Since learning that 175°F melts connective tissue, I've done a few butts. I was short on time this weekend, so I tried to cheat by keeping it between 300 and 400 words. Yes, it was very hot for smoking, but it only took about 8 hours, and the saltiness seemed to be more intense at these higher temperatures. Because I kept the outside oiled, the moistness was still quite good. It's just barely possible. It's not that it's dripping, but it's not completely dry. The moral of the story is that by cheating, the meat still gets a 9 out of 10, but slow and low is better. I shaved four of my limbs. Cooking time off for 5 hours. As a result, there's a chance of cheating. sort of. br> I hope everyone gives it a shot. This rotisserie ring is another one of my favorite barbecue accessories. even more so than the grate on my grill It is a requirement.

It's possible that it won't work out
3/5

I bought it with a top-of-the-line credit card. the- Weber grill with a line of charcoal and a gas starter. The ring isn't made to any kind of quality standard that would allow it to fit snugly. It flips over into the grill, and whatever is on it - DO NOT PLACE YOUR HANDS ON IT. While the coals are still hot, it's a lot of fun getting it out and resetting the ring. br>br>I attempted to return this as defective through Amazon, but they refused to accept it. Weber is the only way to go. Weber responded by sending another ring after I contacted them. When I get it, I'll post an update.
