Questions & Answers
Thank you for your inquiry. We do not recommend using two griddles side by side. This could interfere with the ventilation of the grill and constitute a safety risk. Thanks so much.
The sides of the 7658 are higher than those of the 7597, so it is easier to cook vegetables on it.
Good morning, everyone! A Spirit II E-griddle will work with this griddle Thanks a lot!
Good morning, everyone! Specially designed for Weber's 200/300 series Spirit and Spirit II models, this griddle is a must-have for any enthusiast. Since it has holes to drain grease into a grill, it is probably unnecessary to use on a gas stove. Because it features special holes to drain grease into a grill, it would likely interfere with gas ignitor combustion. Please do not wash this in a dishwashing machine. Thanks so much.

It's okay, thank you. So get ready for the most honest and helpful review of this product you'll ever read. Having yearned for one of these for so long, but the old version had become too brittle to use I am holding off because of the reviews. This is the new version (which isn't saying much since Weber's new version with the exposed tank and plastic base failed miserably compared to either the Spirit or Spirit V. The original doors are still on the older model). The Spirit II needs to allow me to cook sausages, peppers, and onions without producing a lot of smoke in the house, so that I can cook bacon without polluting my house. I was impressed by how heavy it was when I received it. There were, however, two things that caught my eye the material was not cast iron, and the instructions specified that metal scrapers and metal glitter pads were not appropriate for use with it. Since it is enamel coated and not painted, I think that has something to do with it. Although I have had Lodge cast iron skillets that turned into rust after having been dried completely, cast iron is still a good choice because it can be seasoned. Despite this, black soot baked on is nearly impossible to remove using anything other than The enamel coating can be damaged by just a few scrapes too many using a spatula to clean the surface. There is no easy way to clean this thing. If it is used every other time, then it must be cleaned after each use. It's awkward and heavy to twist and wash, even with a deep sink and faucet that can be detached. since it's next to Although the book says to soak it in warm water with soap, the sink I have is too small to lay it flat, so I pretty much use warm water and a nylon bristle brush that the book says can clean I am still unable to get rid of all the soot that is baked on. I have not made pancakes yet, but the surface does cook well if you are into things like sausage, peppers, onions, bacon, Philly steak, etc. I have not tried pancakes yet. The yolk stayed raw due to the egg whites spreading out while the whites became too thin and burned. You might find it easier to make scrambled eggs if you have a lot to prepare. However, if you are cooking one or two eggs, you'll wind up with more of an egg crepe with a runny yolk. (Unintended, but you can create an interesting egg wrap that can be used to make sandwiches, etc. ) Bacon cooks very well, but it splatters everywhere and after 5 minutes it's a complete mess. There will be a greasy film on the inside and outside of the grill on the side you are griddling on after you do so 6 times. There is no way to be safe long-term with this. I had flare ups and a grease fire after using this unit several times for the first few days. The Weber Spirit II has been in my possession for 2 years now, but I have never experienced a grease fire until now. After I put two boxes of baking powder on it, I tried to figure out why it was so sticky. With my level, I checked the top of the grill and discovered that it was a bit off level on my concrete patio, which caused grease to fall off the grease catching pan and into the base of the grill where it was ignited. I had to find a more level spot in order to fix the problem. It might not be a bad idea to keep a box of baking powder with you, because anything can happen. Although it has its flaws, I will say that its main selling point is its ability to cook meat well. Often I cook some dishes better on the griddle than on the stove top. In addition to making smash burgers (right on the griddle, pressed down with a griddle press) and searing steaks to give them a thin, crispy coating before grilling, this griddle is amazing for searing any meat that has been frozen. It is amazing how this smells when you do it. I've also discovered that I can make Philly Steak sandwiches. It's a griddle filled with shaved prime rib, onions, peppers, mushrooms, and so on. If you want some cheese, add some Whiz sauce (this is an absolute must. But I guess you could also add some melted provolone cheese) to the pile and mix it for steak and cheese that is better than any Philadelphia restaurant makes. We're going to the stadium for sausage, onions, and peppers - A game day look is perfect for the game. If the surface is too small, I may be unable to make pancakes. No matter how many Philly Steak sandwiches you make, you still have a great experience If you're making it for four people, you need to cook the vegetables and remove them, then cook the meat and return it to the oven I find it easier to add the vegetables after it finishes cooking because it's too small to do both at once. The most you can cook on a griddle is three burgers. There is no way to make eggs and bacon simultaneously, and a package of bacon will not fit on the griddle, so the bacon will have to be cooked in two hours. There is room for 5 to 6 pieces on the grill until it becomes too small. In my opinion, one of the biggest negatives of this product would be the size of the cooking area. When you have the Spirit II, you will find this to be especially true. As a matter of fact, I would have upgraded to a Spirit III if I knew beforehand. This grill is hard to clean because the edges are recessed, and the heating is uneven because if could be recessed. As I explain below, I see that the front doesn't really heat up very well, but the middle and back As well, the griddle itself is so heavy that it won't heat your grill past the recommended 400 degrees (which is the optimal temperature for the griddle according to the instruction book). You have to open the hood every time you flip or season to keep the temperature below When you flip food and prepare it, keep the grill open, and you will get 200 to 300 cal per hour It takes 250 degrees to ignite a match. For the side of your griddle, it will be fine, but if you make something on one side that requires a high temperature, you might have a problem.
I'm not sure why they didn't place the hole on the left side of the screen where the grease drain is. Grease drips across the pan and ends up in the tin container of the right side of the grill because its position is on the right side of the grill. This will be a mess if the grill is not level or if the grease gets heavy and is veered out of course, so you will have to do a deep clean every time or every couple times you cook greasy foods like bacon or shaved steak on this. I give this a solid three out of five. A 4 star rating for performance (uneven heat spots did not impress me) and a 2 star rating for the labor intensive cleaning task after each use of the device. I wish you could give it a quick scrape while it's still hot and then a quick wash with a rag as soon as it's cooled. The Weber Grill is not going to solve all your problems, but for under $100, this adds another dimension to your grill and allows you to grill things that would otherwise smell or smoke in your house (like fish), or that might fall through the grill surface. Whether you like it or not depends on your personal preferences. There is not much room for more than two people to cook on a Spirit II because it is a very small space.
But it's still a pretty good thing. It makes your steaks look great when they are grilled. It is just a pain to have to take it out and clean it in water and soap.
This is a very heavy item, some 15 pounds in weight. Despite its solid construction, it is given a thickly coated surface so that it can be easily cleaned. Normally, I cook shrimp, fish, veggies, or fajitas in it, but I use it also to stir fry or grill shrimp, fish, veggies, or fajitas that fall through the slots. A vegetable oil sprayer is used to lightly coat the griddle and the food just prior to putting in the food. Ensure that the dry clothes are stored in a cool, dry spot. Maintaining it like new is sure to keep it looking good. If the pan is cold, you can clean it by using a bit of white wine to deglaze, which will loosen any burnt on food. Afterward, you can scrape and clean the pan as above. It is highly recommended you wash it after every use in order to prevent burnt on buildup. While I initially debated buying a separate propane griddle, these fit perfectly on my Weber Spirit II gas grill and when I typically cook for two, I don't need a separate propane griddle Considering how many people can fit in it, it is the ideal solution at a great price.
The result is a mess, however. Griddle recipes are cooked to perfection with this appliance. I found it a little smaller than I expected and it has a recessed bottom, so I had a hard time working with it. There are an average of 3 smash burgers that can be cooked at one time. Due to the fact that the meat is sizzling so close to the edge, the meat makes a huge mess, so we don't do it very Thanks to its easy removal and easy maintenance, the griddle can easily be cleaned. In contrast, how to clean the grease that gets all over the grill and patio is far more difficult.
It is impossible to list all the potential options, but there are so many hash browns, eggs, pancakes, bacon, shaved steak, REAL grilled cheese. Now you can play with anything you normally would be wary of falling through the grate. It's important to remember that the griddle is less efficient than the grates and, therefore, over time, you will need more propane to run it. It is a sacrifice I am willing to make.
It was surprising to learn that oil should not be used on the griddle, rather it should be used on Why should I oil my burgers before grilling them? Each time it is used, it must also be removed and cleaned. One time I used the grill to cook burgers, and I felt it did not perform well. There are at least eight Weber grills and a number of accessories I've owned, and I've liked them all, but this one does not impress me.
There are some reports online of food sticking to Weber nonstick pans, but I use Weber pans with no issues It was easy to clean the griddle because it was sprayed with a non-stick cooking spray. I cooked burgers and fried onions on the griddle, and they were absolutely amazing! Despite the fact that the meat was not dry, it was more flavorful and more evenly cooked. My opinion is that it is a must-have. We will have Italian sausage with fried peppers and onions for our next meal. I'm positive that everything will turn out just fine.
We have an extra grill top that we do not know where to put. Upon using this, I have found it to be effective for a variety of types of food alongside a normal grill on the left. In addition, it seems like it will last for a long time. When it comes to cleaning, I use a plastic scraper that is meant for cast-iron pans - it works well. Even removing the food from the grill is not an option. In spite of this, it will likely still have some savory bits from previous grilling, but this makes the dish more flavorful. It has now been replaced with a new grill top that has no place to go.
