I'm at a loss for words. I use a 20-inch-diameter, 48-inch-long barbecue pit with a firebox on one end and a 36-inch upright smoker on the other.
It's all made of steel. The plain cast iron gets seasoned with use and holds up well, unlike porcelain coated cast iron, which can chip and leave holes that rust.
I'm not sure if they were preseasoned, but they were seasoned in some way. I washed them and put them to use, and they worked perfectly!
We keep a can of Pam spray under the grill at all times. Put it on every time you light the flame to keep it as good as new! They still appear to be brand new a year later!

$70. The old grates, as you can see in my photos, were in desperate need of replacement. I decided to take a chance and buy a less expensive set for around $30 instead of the $70 OEM replacement. On first glance, it appears to have been well worth the investment. br>br>Packaging was plain and simple, with the grates heavily foam padded, bubble wrapped, and taped together. The grates are a good weight and thickness, and there are no sharp edges or metal casting marks from the mold (which is well made). Although the width appears to be the same as my original grates, the height is a few centimeters shorter. Even though it's a little shorter, it stays on the ledge and isn't so short that it falls off. They don't have any kind of protective coating or pre-treatment. br>br> I was so impressed with the quality of this product that I'm going to look into ordering flavorizer bars from the same company. br>br>I was so impressed with the quality of this product that I'm going to look into ordering flavorizer bars from the same company. br>br>I was so impressed with the quality of this product that I'm going to look into ordering flavorizer bars from the same company.
My original cast iron grill grids had been in use for eight years and were in desperate need of replacement. I began researching prices for the Weber original replacement as well as other brands. These appeared to be of good quality, but they were way too expensive. I don't like supporting Chinese nonsense, but what can you do? These are beautifully made and presented. There's also a well-written booklet (not your typical translated Chinese manual) that discusses care and handling, among other topics; the quality is quite good for the price. * This is for the older e-mail addresses. The controls are on the top right (not the front) of a 210 Weber grill.
I had no way of knowing whether they were or not. These grates are the perfect fit for my Silver Genesis Silver A Weber Grill. They're not quite as thick and heavy as the original Weber grates, but they're still made of solid cast iron. I believe they are a good value for the money. I couldn't tell if they were pre-existing conditions or not. I didn't know whether they needed to be seasoned or not, so I did (once). I've heard you can put them in the dishwasher, but I've never tried it. I've used my grill a few times since getting the grates, and I'm pleased with the results.
I'm a big fan of original equipment manufacturer parts. When I rebuilt my grill using other Weber parts, I read the reviews on these. We bought these to save some money vs. buying them separately. Weber grate made of cast iron. These are fantastic. They're great grates! I heated them up before using them and seasoned them with oil a few times before using them for the first time. They've been a great cooking surface for about 6 months and still look brand new. I would strongly suggest it.
The cast iron grates are fantastic, but you must season them to keep them from rusting and clean them with soap. Using a paper towel, rub vegetable oil all over them before placing them in the oven at 450° for about an hour. Allow them to cool down on their own. Rust is prevented by seasoning them, and a non-stick surface is created. surface to stick to To get a well-seasoned grate, you may need to repeat the process.
This is fantastic! Grates with a porcelain coating are more difficult to season and clean. The product is of high quality. The grill should last for a long time. With these, I get nice sear marks and less food sticks. It is highly recommended.
When I bought my Weber (Genesis Silver A) grill, it came with these accessories. The cast iron cooking grates on the Weber grills sold at Home Depot at the time were uncoated. These are the exact replicas of the originals. PS: When I first got the grill, it said to use Crisco to coat the grates, light the grill, close the lid, and get it hot. That would give them a nice flavor.
They're lovely, but they don't quite fit in my Weber. Between the two racks, there is about a half-inch of free play. br>br>I just keep them flush to the left, but if I'm not careful, food could fall between them.
