Questions & Answers
I purchased one of these for my Pit Boss K24 and discovered, as others have stated, that there is a significant gap between the rim of the basket and the fire bowl. It technically "fits," but that's the equivalent of saying a Geo Metro fits into a whole parking space. Because it doesn't touch the edge of the fire bowl, the amount of charcoal you can load into the grill is severely limited. Take a look at the photos in the customer reviews.
Give or take a few degrees above 2700f. br> I'm very pleased with the one I bought. Shaking and reusing the unburned charcoal is a simple process. It makes cleanup a breeze. br>I've cooked pizzas to temperatures well above 600 degrees Fahrenheit and they're still looking great. It's well worth the effort.br>
I have no idea. I have a 20-year-old large Kamado that is perfect for me.
Yes. Exactly what I needed

This charcoal basket is the perfect size for my Big Green Egg. I currently have a Kick Ash Basket that I've been using for the past two years, but it has a design flaw. The wire sides are shaped horizontally. What I've noticed with their basket is that as the charcoal burns, the smaller lumps get caught in the wire and don't fall as the lump burns down. The wire sides of the Onlyfire basket are formed in a vertical orientation. Because the lump burns, it can tumble down without getting caught in the wire sides. It also fits a lot better in the Big Green Egg's larger size. I'm not sure how the Onlyfire basket would fit in other Komado cookers. The Onlyfire basket is made of the same gauge wire as the KickAsh basket, and it is also less expensive. br>These baskets are a great upgrade to your Kamodo cooker, and in my opinion, they are a must.
I bought this to use in my Big Green Egg Large, and it fits perfectly. When you take this out of the smoker for the first time and shake it, you'll know you've made a good decision. For my Kamado Joe Jr, I have a similar product (Kick Ash Basket) that works great. However, I believe the onlyfire basket has a distinct advantage in that the handles are angled for easy grasping - Because the KAB handles are closer to the firebox walls, they are more difficult to reach. They aren't difficult to pick up, but they aren't as simple as the onlyfire basket, if that makes sense. br>br>If you're looking for a sturdy ash basket, this one is a good choice.
Sifting through the ashes of my kamado grill to recover charcoal is a messy task for me. This basket makes it simple to remove the charcoal from the grill, shake off the dust, and replace it. In addition, because I tend to overload my grill, I believe it aids airflow. When you put in a sufficient amount, airflow along the sides occurs. It is impossible to make a mistake.
For a Large BGE, there are a number of ash baskets available. I read a lot of reviews and tried to figure out which one was which. This purchase has brought me great joy. The welds are sturdy, the wire is thick, and the structure is sturdy. I have a friend who owns the kick ash basket, which costs around $90, and I can't tell the difference between the two (and this one is half the price). Put an end to your search and purchase this one. You'll be glad you took the time to do so.
What a difference using the Green Egg over and over makes when it comes to cleanup. It doesn't hold as much as I usually do, but it gets the job done and I've never run out of fuel or heat. It's a breeze to remove and shake out the ash, then reuse the rest. Although the holes allow a lot of the smaller wood chips to escape, they also allow for better air flow, so it's a win-win situation. Overall, I've been doing things incorrectly for a long time without this. Love it.
I took it out of the box, poured all of the charcoal from my Big Green Egg into the basket, and set it aside. I cleaned everything up and vacuumed out the old ash. I dropped the basket into place, making sure not to put the bottom plate that normally holds the charcoal. It was a perfect fit, and it's all set for the next cook for Father's Day weekend. As shown in the image, there are no gaps. This ought to make things a little easier.
This is a fantastic addition to your toolbox. It makes it easier to keep the larger lump in the basket for later use while shaking out the ash. Because it has much better airflow than a standard Swiss cheese plate, the ramp-up time is significantly reduced. Inquire in the message boards - It's a good idea to put everything in a basket. This basket is a great way to save money.
BGE is carried out with bulk charcoal. The bottom grate is replaced, allowing the ashes to fall to the bottom. If you're going to cut corners, By grabbing the handles and relighting, you can easily shake off the ash and return to the smoke. large enough to hold a large quantity of charcoal for a long smoke Steel with a thick gauge. This is extremely useful if you use your Big Green Egg for a lot of cooking.
