It appears to be designed for roofs of vehicles. Glue is required to stick it to the wall.
Renogy thanks you for contacting us. We recommend some kind of weatherproof sealant, such as Sikaflex - The water sealant properties of this product will be achieved by applying it.
My version lacked a lip as well, but the picture didn't have one when I bought mine, so maybe there's a new model. An Amazon product with a lip was similar to the one I used from a different vendor. I mistakenly reported it as black when it was white.

There is virtually no customer service. . . most of the time. To be quite frank, I had no idea if this thing even worked. I've been waiting for my solar panels, a charge controller, etc. for an entire month.
I would strongly advise you to stay away from The shipping companies seem to be great sometimes and your stuff arrives normally. . . other times they don't even tell you about the delay, and despite promising an arrival date, they don't provide tracking information because what they didn't tell you is that your items haven't You can read other reviews of Renogy products here. There is even a possibility you'll find some of mine applauding
It is hit or miss with them. You can either do it well or you can do it badly. In my experience, this company is horrible on multiple levels. Its ads advertise kits. . . and people expect that everything they will need to get set up in the kit is included! Through my experience, I've seen for myself the terrible side of this company. Both the cable entry port and the connectors to join the two panels are not included in their 200 watt 40amp Rover Kit! Those who have read other reviews will see that this company has the same picture as others. If you place an order and it ships within a week, you're Calling the customer support line and speaking directly to a real human will be the best. I must say, that is It gives me great pleasure to say that I will never waste time on Renogy Those who attempt to do so are wished good luck. Chances are you'll have good luck, but you may also.
This product does not include instructions or adhesive for mounting it, so you're left to guess how to do so. In addition to the screws and adhesive, I used sealant around the edge and this seems to hold very Also, the entry points for the cables are not very well designed. It seems there was some water running down the cables, so I also had to apply sealant around the cables through the port. It is not a recommended product.
In order to install solar panels, I had to pierce the roof of my travel trailer. We have just the solution for you. Those two cable entry points screw down tightly on top of The words I used were A caulking gun was used to apply the heavy duty adhesive, the unit was fastened down with screws on each side and white leveling compound was applied to the edges. As a result, I purchased a second unit for running the cable from my roof so I can be sure it keeps water out- A booster that mounts to the wall. Generally, everything seems very secure and waterproof. . . but I would recommend that the cable entries be angled away from the direction of travel so as to prevent water from getting inside.
One star was taken away because 1) the batteries could have been more closely connected to the controller via the cables provided. It was not possible to hang the controller where it was most optimum. It would help if we had another 4 feet. Two) the error codes may need to be described better in the controller documentation. This is just a one-time offer Describes what it is, but not what it actually means or how to fix it. Apart from that, I can say that it is perfectly useful once installed.
Wires will pass through an opening inside the hole inside the gland and nut (inside the hole where the gland seals when compressed) where there is an excess of flashing from the mold process. Although there was no big deal, the inside of the hole was a bit rough, and I added RTV to seal it up around the outside. incorrectly as I would have preferred one with a flange for mounting screws, but time was short, so I simply drilled a hole in the middle of the piece, and used a 2-inch allen wrench to tighten the screw My fiberglass hightop is held together with a 1/2 inch machine screw and nut, and the housing is adhered to it with RTV.
This was one I bought last year, and it was equipped with 3/8" flanges on all sides, which allowed screws to hold it down while the silicone The flanges on this one were so small that I could scarcely use screws for the same installation as I did with my previous one. Due to that issue, I do not recommend this one.
I thought this product was well made, and I would have given it 5 stars except that it should have come with a gasket. I know I will have to be creative, but you would think a gasket would be useful if you had to drill into a roof or somewhere else. My experience with the product is good, and I strongly recommend it for anyone who needs one. It is well made, good value for the price.
I received a damaged copy of the first one. As for the second one, it arrived in good shape, but it required screws to attach. Despite the fact that it did not have adhesive on the bottom, it was still intact. It will be easier to install the solar cable if an alternative is bought that can be screwed down.
