These cables are separate from one another. As you can see on the left side of the picture, the red cable (Positive Lead Generally) is a male terminal however, on the right side it transforms to be a female cable. A similar switch is made with the cable in black. Since the positive (red) lead is encased within the female terminal, there is no opportunity for shorting that lead out when the left side is plugged in (energized).

People have complained that polarity has been reversed on this cable in a lot of reviews. As long as I have a cable, I do not have a problem. If you hook up the cable backwards, you can connect it with reverse polarity. There are two types of SAE cables The L-wire and the wire have an L-shape A male and female connector on both ends offers a U-shaped connector. It's reversed on the other end on one end, the male is exposed and attached to the red wire, while the other end is hidden A red, black, and white color scheme You will have no problems with black) and color. It might help to mark the cable at the end that you cross with the "wall" on one end and "bike/boat/car/etc" on the other end once you figure out which end is which.

The wires on this are not tinned, so the quality is good

To connect my washdown pump to this wire, I bought it. My preferred design is one that can easily be taken apart. Despite its appearance, this wire + connector is of high quality as well as being thickly insulated. It seems like the wires are not tinned, which is my only complaint. There is nothing but bare copper in them. The reason why I know this is that I saw the wires in half before making both sides of my connection. For most people, not being tinned isn't a great deal of a deal. My preference is to use tinned wire for marine applications, but I used this wire nonetheless.

Battery Tender Lead is connected to this lead

Adding a short extension to my Battery Tender cable on my UTV battery will allow it to reach the front of the machine and enable me to plug in the charger without having to remove the hood all the time. The installation has not yet been completed. Checked the connectors at the ends, and they seem to fit very snugly to the Battery Tender. It seems to be well made and of good.

You can just make an extra long one out of two shorter ones instead of buying two of them for different applications. I used these extensions to get my solar power from my trailer through the side and into my controller due to the heavy gauge wire and covered connectors.
