Wiring my switch with 6 AWG was a must for me.
I know, from my experience, it simply switches between two power sources on the trailer. It is set to shore power by default. As soon as power is applied to the input, the alternate input is switched on. A generator cannot be controlled by it since it lacks logic.

It has now been several days since a replacement arrived from the vendor. In 1999, a Winnebago Adventurer was installed with the FIRST transfer switch delivered. I was only tested once for the Weeks later, while still without shore power in Yellowstone National Park, the generator started, but there were no other power sources available. The only way I could stay alive was to connect the generator to the shore power terminals, and I removed the shore power connections as well. Now that I've discovered the neutral and hot leads are switched, I went to find out what I needed to do. I made contact with the vendor when I was back in civilization. As a result of several conversations, I gave them my credit card so they could send another. Due to the travel schedule, three day shipping was the best option since their free shipping wasn't guaranteed to reach the location before we were scheduled to leave. I then removed the defective switch and put it to the test with 120 vac (at the time delay board, L1 and neutral supply power). time delay of approximately 30 seconds, as expected. Due to the defective switch being returned to the vendor, I should receive funds from my credit card.
On Amazon, the switch I received did not look like the switch they offer. I installed it, and it works fine so far. It has been installed for just over a It will be interesting to see how long this lasts.

This item was a direct replacement item of an item of this physical size. The last one lasted only long enough for me to end it. The quaintness of the hotel could be a problem.
I love the fact that the box is plastic, which is good for me, although it is a little bigger It was enclosed in a metal enclosure, which eventually shorted out my shore power wiring because my motor home tech tightened the fastener that lets the switch box in too tightly.
It was bought as a gift.
It is of good.
Transfer switches hang up when in use, so this is the perfect replacement.
