This does exactly what it says on the tin. It was simple to set up, and the timer functioned perfectly. It kept my wife's plants hydrated while we were on vacation. I know because I double-checked with my surveillance cameras. The first time we returned, all of her plants were still alive. (LOL) It's a high-quality item with solid construction. So I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a simple way to water their plants on a regular basis without having to set up a complex irrigation system.
I've tried a lot of different water timers and wish I'd tried this one first because it's so simple to set up and use. The old adage "set it and forget it" could be applied to this product; we're on a water restriction and can only water our lawns every other day between the hours of midnight and 7 a. m. , so this is ideal.
I bought it because it was less expensive than a similar model from a big box store. When it arrived, the first thing I noticed was how small it was; if you haven't figured out why this is important, wait until you have to connect the pressure regulator, backflow valve, adapter, and, if you want to use one, a Y splitter. br>br>The LCD and the words on the dial are both easy to read. The time and frequency in days, as well as the length in minutes, are very simple to set. The fact that it had Wi-Fi wasn't something I was particularly interested in. The ability to connect via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. I simply wanted to water at the same time every day for the same amount of time. br>br>I was so pleased with this model that I purchased another one about a week later. So far, I've had no problems with it, and it's run smoothly.
I purchased two of these last year to use with drip hoses in my vegetable garden. Easy to program and understand. I have it sent to the water twice a day (every 12 hours) for 30-minutes each time. Minutes at 6 a. m. 30- At 6 p. m. , mins. A Word to the Wise: The majority of battery-operated water timers on the market today use an instant on plunger valve, which means your watering hoses and piping will experience an instant pressure surge, potentially damaging your water lines and fittings and resulting in leaks. Installing a "Sioux Chief 660-" water hammer protector is also highly recommended to remedy this and help protect against water hammer damage. 3/4-inch HB Water Hammer Hose Arrestor Inch" is the same size as the end fittings on a water hose. Install the Water Hammer Artester on the water timer's inlet side and you're ready to go.
Installing and programming the timer was a breeze. There is a manual option and it works on the dot. The extra instructions for making sure the valve was working properly were extremely helpful. br>I use it every day to water a newly planted section of my yard, and I intend to use it to water my flowerpots while we are away.
I followed the instructions for setting up this timer, but no matter what settings I used, water flowed right through it. I was about to return it to Amazon when I contacted Rainpoint via email on a Sunday afternoon. Rainpoint support responded the next morning with an explanation and a simple solution: br>br>"The water in the valves has evaporated, and the silicone diaphragms inside the valves have become stuck together after a period of shipping and storage. " Please manually turn on and off the valve for 7 minutes (long press the OK button for 5 seconds). After ten repetitions, the device will restore normalcy. "br>br>After following their instructions, the timer now works perfectly!" Hopefully, these instructions will be included in the unit's minimal user instructions.
I bought one for my father because he has a habit of forgetting to turn off the water. I bought one for myself because I thought it would be useful. I can use it for an area that doesn't get watered when I'm gone for a few days - to prevent the death of anything It's very simple to set up.
After reading numerous reviews and comparing all other products, I decided to purchase. Arrived on time and was incredibly simple to assemble. I put the manual override to the test and it worked for ten minutes before stopping; Before shutting down, there is a 60-second countdown. off; So far, everything has worked out well. working in the manner stated Battery life is claimed to be one year; I only need it once a year for my vegetable garden.
