Is it possible to use AA batteries that are rechargeable? I've had my linktap for about a month and it's already telling me that the batteries need to be replaced. ?

It is not advised to use rechargeable batteries. Regarding the battery: drain- Please contact our technical support team with your LinkTap user account username to resolve this issue as quickly as possible. On the product box and on our website, you'll find the email address for technical support.

Is it possible to connect a second gateway (not connected to the internet) between the gateway and the tap if the signal is weak due to the distance between them?

No, I'm not convinced. I believe it is a point-to-point situation. I'd recommend putting your gateway in the middle of your tap devices' operation area. br>br>The gateway CAN be connected to and powered by a single ethernet cable with the appropriate power supply. over- On the source end, an ethernet switch is used, and on the gateway end, a POE splitter for 5V microUSB is used to help locate the gateway so that it can reach the tap devices the best. br>br>If you need to cover such a large area, you might want to have two separate gateways.

Selected User Reviews For LinkTap G2S Wireless Water Timer & Gateway & Flow Meter - Smart Hose Timer for Garden, Cloud Controlled Watering, Greater Range than WiFi, Real-Time Fault Detection & Notification, 2 Year Battery Life

I'm going to set up a timer for my garden to water while I'm away from the house because it works as it should, high quality build, accurate and convenient technology, and it's worth the money
5/5

I purchased it because it was the only timer I could find that could be controlled via Wi-Fi. I was concerned about the small number of reviews and the fact that none were from the United States, but it turns out that my concerns were unfounded. The gateway (the device that connects to your internet) and link (the device that connects to the hose) made initial setup a breeze, thanks to well-written instructions and QR codes on both devices. It worked perfectly during a trial run. Because I have two zones, I will now order a second link. You'll need to download an app to your smartphone as part of the process. I haven't installed the waterflow monitor (which will notify you of changes in water usage) and haven't looked into the app's "rain skip" function. After I finish installing the second link and have used it for a few weeks, I will post an update. br>br>1st revision: I got the GS1 standalone and tried to install it according to the instructions. Initially, it did not connect on its own. On a weekday evening at 10 p. m. US EDT, I went to the linktap website and emailed customer service. I got a response in a matter of minutes. (I'm assuming customer service is open from 12 a. m. to 6 p. m. Australian time. ) 14 hours ahead of Eastern Daylight Time. ) The rep noticed that I hadn't gone into the app settings to add a link via the taplinker section (which is unfortunately not covered in the written instructions). When I did that, it immediately connected. After a few weeks of use, I'll update the post again. br>br>2nd update: br>br> I am extremely pleased with this product; it is well worth the money and performs admirably. Once I adjusted how much rainfall triggers the skip, the rain skip function (which works for both actual and predicted rainfall in the next 24 hours) was perfect. The default setting was a little on the low side. I'm not sure what would prompt me to make another update to this.

WiFi is excellent
5/5

Your garden now has a watering controller. This is a great garden companion that will save you money on your water bill. There are no monthly fees or subscriptions required, which is a big stipulation for me these days with everyone trying to suck money out of your pocket every month! It has both WiFi and cloud capabilities. controlled and can be used with Google and Alexa if desired, but I prefer to schedule my watering using the included app. br>br>I found the app to be very user-friendly and intuitive. You can make an appointment for a one-on-one meeting. on a daily, or day-to-day basis, or one or more recurring watering events weekly basis, allowing for a wide range of watering requirements. The optional flow meter is a great way to keep track of your water consumption and can detect excessively low or high flow rates and alert you to these issues. Note that the rate of water flow is not controllable by this device; it is only on or off. You will have to control the flow rate at either the faucet valve or an additional in-line valve. Restrictor of line flow. The app can also detect rain in your area based on forecasts and turn off watering in those situations, but only if you've set it up to do so. The app can also be used to schedule manual watering. br>br>Note that remote operation requires the gateway device (which was included in my purchase), but a single gateway can control up to four valve devices (which are significantly less expensive on their own). It's worth noting that the gateway requires an Ethernet cable to connect to your internet router or extender in order to function, as well as a separate power outlet for power. It's also not designed for outdoor use.

It's amazing! I used eight of these to control 30 sprinkler heads that were split into eight zones
5/5

The tap link timers have not disappointed me at all; in fact, I believe they have exceeded my expectations. They're high-quality and simple to put together. The WiFi connection is always strong, and the link tap app is fantastic! Keeps track of every use and logs it on a chart so you can see how many gallons were used and how long it took to run. In addition, the timer keeps track of how many GPM are being used in real time, which I've been telling my friends and coworkers about. The timers are amazing, according to the workers. There are also additional features in the app that will help you make your watering plans more effective. If you're looking for a valve timer, LINKTAP is a great option.

The most effective water timer I've ever used
5/5

It's a fantastic program. The app has a lot of features. I like being able to set alerts and even turn off the water flow if it becomes too high. If I borrow a hose and leave it disconnected, I could see this saving me money. br>br>Auto rain delay appears to be a cool feature, with a lot of options, but it hasn't rained yet in our area. You can specify how much rain (in inches) should fall before *or/and* after the scheduled time for it to be cancelled. You can also see the app's rainfall measurements from the previous two days, which appear to match what my local weather station reports. br>br>It's also cool that I can set the length of time the manual button turns on the water. In addition, the manual button will be disabled.
