If there is backing behind the siding, it should be fine. In the front yard, I used 6 10 screws in brick anchors, and in the back, I screwed directly into stucco. After 15 years, I finally replaced the originals this year.
Yes, you can use this holder for an expandable hose, and you can even store it inside the holder box.
Terri, the interior has a tapered shape. The size is about ten inches. 5 x 6 x 4 is a five-by-six-by-four- 5 inches. There's a lot of space, and it's simple to open and close.
It's a light beige color.

We currently have two and plan to purchase a third (one for our Lanai, one for our home's south side, and one for our home's north side). We had been using Suncast water and electric hose reels, which worked well but took up a lot of room in our garden beds to store the heavy lifetime hoses. The hoses were difficult to remove, but simple to rewind (which was the primary goal). You no longer need those to help you rewind those heavy hoses with the newer expandable hoses. We have one in our Lanai that is 14 years old and still looks and works great! If you have the newer light-weight expandable hoses, these are ideal. We have room for 100-plus people. This can easily accommodate a 150-foot expandable hose. It also works with a regular hose up to about 75 feet, but we highly recommend using the lighter weight newer expandable hoses. We love the storage compartment for hose nozzles and other stuff you use to wash the car, etc. that those fancy automatic hose reels don't have. You'll have to wind it around the holder yourself (it's not an auto winder), but it's so simple that even a child could do it. We're in our sixties, and we're still going strong. I'm in my 70s and I'm fine. It is impossible to make a mistake! I wish they made it in white as well, because our house is completely white on the outside, but that isn't a deal breaker. It still appears to be in excellent condition and performs admirably. br>br>I review hundreds of products on Amazon and heavily rely on other people's reviews as well. This is the second time I've paid full price for it, and I'm sure I'll do so again. I only give an item five stars if I would pay full price for it or give it as a gift. I do give 1 star (since 0 is not an option) to items that are so bad that I would throw them away or wouldn't want them even if they were free. Because I check reviews frequently for the hundreds of items I buy online, I try to include all of the positive and negative aspects of products. I have no affiliation with this company or any other company for the products I review, and my opinions are always entirely my own. I hope that the time I spent researching this item will be useful to others when making purchasing decisions. If so, please vote "yes" in the poll below! Thanks!.
This is a fantastic product that is simple to set up. Vinyl siding has a great look to it. On here, I have a 50-foot "neverkink" hose that does an excellent job. I can just hook my sprinkler on to the top of the item because the inside compartment isn't very big, just big enough for a nozzle sprayer. I've included a photo of the wall before and after the hose installation. After you've lined it up and double-checked that it's level, all you have to do now is mark where you want the screws to go, drill the holes, install the screws, and hang the product on the wall. It took me about 5 minutes to finish and was very simple. The majority of that time was spent obtaining the necessary tools!.
There was a Suncast hose reel installed at the back of our current house when we bought it. We were so taken with it that we went to Amazon and ordered the same hose reel for the front of our house. It's sturdy, and the storage compartment can easily accommodate a couple of sprayers or nozzles. When the new one arrived, I discovered that it was also incredibly simple to set up. In the back of the storage compartment, there are six mounting points. If you want to mount it on the wall, you'll need a good masonry bit and six masonry screws, which aren't included. The hose reel is easy to install and once in place, it is very strong and durable. Advantages: br>br>

- None at all, actually.
Be aware that the holes used to attach it are not as far apart as studs, so you'll need a back plate attached to studs to mount it on a home wall.
I saw a five-star review of this product with photos and knew I had to have one. Unlike that reviewer, I will not contact the manufacturer if this unit falls off the wall for two reasons:
1. I also clearly did not follow their instructions when installing it, andbr> 2. I'm not using it for the purpose it was designed for. br>I've wrapped about 300 feet of Harbor Freight's premium air hose around this thing at the moment. I needed something to put the hose on, and it also had a compartment where I could store accessories. Because I knew I was going to exceed the weight limit, I made a couple of steel brackets to help support the thing. It's been on the wall for more than a month and is still going strong.
My hose was all tangled up on the lawn before these babies came along. It was far too inconvenient to roll it up and put it in the corner the old-fashioned way. Not to mention that it didn't improve the appearance of the yard. I have to say, my yard looks a lot better now that I've purchased these bad boys. Because it sat in the yard for so long, the hose was severely damaged by the sun. But, in addition to cleaning up the yard, this suncast also protects the hose from the sun's harmful rays. I really like the small stowaway for nozzles and other small items. I had a few nozzles on hand, as well as some water balloon adapters from my son. Everything fits perfectly in the stowaway. Keeps everything close at hand so I can get the hose ready for whatever I'm working on. Originally, I was hoping for a hideaway system, but I think I like this one better. I would have had to find a place for the hideaway, but this one simply mounts to any wall. Just remember to pick up your mounting hardware, as this does not come with it.
I haven't yet installed this one at my main house, but I do have another one at my small fishing camp in the northeast, and it's been working well. My camp's is more than ten years old and still going strong. Only a few screws are required for installation, after which it is simply hung on the screws. You can strengthen the screws by adding washers and tightening them down. If you're installing on a brick wall (as I will), you'll need to use a masonry drill bit to drill some holes, hammer in some inserts, and screw them in, but that's the brick wall's fault, not the hanger's! br>br>At my camp, there are two hose nozzles and an outlet splitter in the storage compartment, as well as room for more hose accessories, so I'd say that's enough.
