Questions & Answers

Unwinding and rewinding the hose isn't difficult. ?

What is the ideal hose length for a rapid real two-wheel vehicle with extra capacity? Is there a model 1043 that is newer?

What country does it come from?

Ugh. China is the source of this product. I've come here because the intake hose on the one I bought in 2003, which was made in the United States, has become damaged. Mine has been out all year, through blizzards and other calamities, and had its axle bent when a car was backed into it, which I straightened with a hammer. The paint is faded, but otherwise it is in good condition.br>br>And for those who believe that we can no longer make things in the United States because they are too expensive, my USA-made one cost less than half as much as this one and is the exact same model.

Is it possible to use this reel with a 100-foot-long, 3/4-inch hose?

Yes, but only to that extent. Please keep in mind that hose capacity varies by brand. style. A 5/8" inlet hose and a full-size hose are standard on all reels. 3/4" gooseneck swivel flow. Upgrade the inlet hose to a 3/4" inlet hose to turn the hose reel into a full-fledged 3/4" flow reel. If more capacity is needed, the reel can be modified and retrofitted with an Extra-Large-Large-Large-Large-Large-Large-Larg The Eley company offers a Capacity Kit, which can be found on their website.

A 3/4" hose is available to me. Will my hose fit on this reel? Is it possible for me to link it to my cart?

Both 3/4" (100') and 5/8" (150') hose can be accommodated on the reel. I'm just not sure if there's a specific fitting that needs to be used. Because both hoses appear to have the same threaded ends, I'm guessing no.

Very nice, but there are a few things that could be improved
4/5

This cart is fantastic, and it is extremely durable. I'm 66 and not a big guy, but I was able to lay out 150 feet of hose in a straight line and wind it up without difficulty. However, the fact that it costs 2 to 3 times as much as other metal hose carts must be taken into account. There is no guide to assist in keeping the hose straight while winding; It doesn't have a utility tray for carrying small items around; and is in desperate need of a new pair of shoes stow in the back of the cart for when it is tilted - All of these were present in my low-cost plastic model. Because it's made in China, there's no excuse for skipping the convenience items. It's the equivalent of purchasing a Mercedes with manually operated windows.

I was expecting a lot more for a $270 hose reel
3/5

I'll tell you what, it's a solid piece of equipment. The structure is reasonably well-made. br>br>My problem is with the hose connection, specifically the metal U rod that goes into the reel mechanism and isn't even part of my hose. That part is leaking. br>br> spits water out br>br> br>br>so, after almost spending $300 on a hose reel and meticulously teflon taping all your hose ends for no leaks, to discover that the basic mechanism built into the damn reel leaks on its own - I am not pleased.

It's solid, and there's no way to get it over
5/5

luv it ! Arrived in 2 days, which is fantastic! I had already watched the 1043 assembly video on YouTube and had it pretty much memorized. It only took 25 minutes to put it together 2gthr, and there was no BS! I unwrapped my newly purchased 75' Craftsman Premium Rubber Hose from the now'retired' $29 Suncast Hose Mobile, hooked it up to the fittings, and began winding it away with ease. You won't have to get into the 'bent over' position like Suncast because of the great handle placement. I went completely around the side of the house with the hose in my hand (no pun intended!). ) The reel never stopped or became snagged, and the entire unit remained in the same position (see photo), nice design, guys! From now on, watering in the evening will be a pleasure. Thank you, Eley, for delivering QUALITY in every way!

Not for $272, no way
3/5

Finding a good hose reel that is both sturdy and practical is difficult, and this one might be the best, but given the high price, there are two major flaws that make this a two star reel:
1. The entire unit moves when reeling in the hose, especially if the lawn is wet from the hose's use.
2. When reeling in the hose, there is no guide, so you must guide the (wet and dirty) hose in with your hands while the entire unit is moving. br>If this were a $100 reel, I'd give it four stars. 5 stars, but it had better be close to perfect for $272.

Warning
3/5

I couldn't assemble it because the bolts were too short, and I had surgery shortly after purchasing it, so I wasn't able to bring it up with the company. This was a huge waste of money. I even had a few others look at it to make sure it wasn't my own ineptness, but it wasn't. Of course, it was June 2018, so the flaw may have been fixed by then.

At this point, I'm not a fan
3/5

I rely on reviews to help me make decisions, and this is one instance where I'm confused by what other people have to say. It took me four hours to put this together (not half an hour) - I'm not even halfway through. I'm not sure if I'll be able to get the brake assembly to function properly. I simply don't care right now. To me, simple assembly entails securing a few minor components - This isn't a full-fledged nuts-and-bolts build. If I'd known I'd have fried neurons by this point, I probably wouldn't have bought it. Like some of the other companies, the company should provide an assembly option. Second, I've already noticed that the powder coat finish is peeling. And that's before I've even used it. That's just shoddy craftsmanship. Sorry - That isn't acceptable. Finally, I am dissatisfied with the fact that an American-born woman was elected president of the United States China was the source of the product. The red, white, and blue have served their purpose.

After 5 years of going wrong and a few minor issues, this is the best hose reel out there
4/5

Updated on July 14, 2018 - Steel hose carts were purchased the same year or shortly after I purchased aluminum and brass hose carts. I'm now ahead financially because they both needed to replace their rusted hose reels, which never spun as smoothly as mine, and another friend purchased a plastic one. That went on for a year, and the leaks worsened as time passed. br>br>3 years ago, I installed the extra-cost Extra-cost Extra-cost Extra-cost Extra-cost Extra-cost Extra-cost Extra-cost Extra-cost Extra- The Quad-Flow Hose Kit and the Capacity Hose Kit are two of the most popular hose kits on the market Kit for making wheels. It became much more stable as a result of the additional wheels, and it no longer tips over in normal use. Even with another 50 feet of heavy rubber hose added. The Quad- It was well worth the money to purchase the Wheel Kit. I'd get a second one with the additional wheels. If I had to rate the quad wheel cart reel, I would give it a 5 out of 5 star rating. br>br>The quality makes it simple to use, customer service was excellent when I needed them, and the reel's long life is well worth the money. The odor of the tires has mostly dissipated. It still works and appears to be in good condition after 5 years. It all came together nicely. It is without a doubt the best reel available. br>br>Updated on January 13, 2013 - My reel's rewind handle was held in place by a clip that had broken. Things go wrong. My only issue is that it is a minor one. What really matters is how a business handles a warranty claim. br>br>Over the weekend, I reported the problem by filling out a form on their website. They responded early the next business day, informing me that a replacement handle assembly had been sent to me. Three days later, I got the entire handle assembly. There will be no complications. They get five stars for doing an excellent job with this. Original review: br>br> br>There are a few minor flaws, but overall, this is the best hose reel on the market. It has no rusty parts. The quality of the fit and finish is excellent. Every other hose cart I've seen rusted out quickly or was made of cheap plastic that leaked and broke. br>br>You have choices that other hose reels don't.
- Supports a maximum of 225 feet. Extra-long lengths of hose are available as an option. Kit for increasing capacity.
- A Quad- This model can be converted to a 4-wheel drive with the help of a wheel kit. design of a wheel wagon br>br>Their website contains a wealth of information and videos on how to put it together, mount it, and use it. Unlike anyone else, I have a lot of time on my hands. It's top-notch, a fantastic effort, and well worth your time. My only gripes are as follows: br>br> br>br>It can hold 100" of 3/4" hose, but why bother when the leader hose is only 5/8" and creates a bottleneck? The leader hose should be 3/4" for the 612' feet. Unless there's another bottleneck in the hose connection, in which case it doesn't matter? br>br>The rubber tires smell like they were made in China. You should put this together outside and leave it there for at least a few months to let the smell go away. br>br>I have tipped this cart over several times using a 100' of heavy 5/8" rubber hose. I tried adjusting the reel drag to help, but the hose still spills off the reel after I stop pulling. I'm having trouble striking a happy medium. Pulling from the side or slightly from the front is a common occurrence for me. In the spring, I'll most likely order the four-wheel upgrade kit in the hopes of gaining more stability. br>br>With the exception of the hose, Fabrication and Assembly are all completed in-house. China is where the packaging takes place. To be fair, I looked on Amazon and Google but couldn't find any metal carts made in the United States. It would be fantastic if they could change this, but that is the current state of the global economy. br>br>The major issue I see with Made in China vs. The way it's presented on the product itself is mentioned in other reviews in the United States. The MADE IN USA stamp is prominently displayed on the 612-foot leader hose. If you look at this reel closely, you'll notice that it's made entirely in the United States. br>This appears to be the most deceptive aspect. There is no large Made in China stamp visible on the metal components. Surprisingly, the single hose appears to make the part content of this cart appear more "Made in the USA" (due to the hose) than other carts that are all made elsewhere. br>br>As for their website, Rapid Reel does not list the location of the reel's manufacture on the product description page of the cart, and only mentions it at the end of their FAQ page. They do, however, state "Made in the USA!" ", according to the description of their rubber hose product page. There is a discrepancy there. br>As a result, they, like many others, are guilty of omission. Chrysler may have emphasized "Imported from Detroit" in advertisements for the 300 sedan, which is manufactured in Canada (along with the Charger and Challenger). br>br>Wantsbr>A Hose Guide, which would make rewinding the hose easier and neater by guiding the hose on the reel neatly. When the hose is crossed or bound up in the wind, a smoother wind allows for a smoother unwind, which reduces tipping. br>Perhaps in the future, an accessory add-on?.
