Questions & Answers
The threads are 3/4 inch garden hose threads, but the water flow inside is only 1/2 inch.
Yes, once they've been sanitized, they're safe to drink.
I believe they are made of bronze, and with all the restrictions, I don't believe there is any lead.
Although it's unclear whether lead was used in the manufacturing process, they were described as solid brass.

Water poured out of the hose's 90-degree fittings. The washer was replaced by me. Water was flying all over the place. Finally, I paid close attention to the fitting. The side of the brass fitting had been hacked away at. The threads allowed me to see daylight. The missing chunk was so large that it ripped the threads completely apart. I finally got the other one that was in the box after wasting a lot of time, and it worked right away; what a ripoff! Unfortunately, there is no way to give a rating lower than one star. It would be very optimistic to give a score of zero.
The entire housing is made of metal. Great. These do not include a vinyl ball joint. Ball joints made of stainless steel do not leak. Metal housing 100 The valve levers, too, are made of metal rather than plastic. (The valve levers on the last ones I had were made of plastic and broke off easily. ) ) A local hardware store wanted $10 for one, but these were half the price and delivered in two days.
These were purchased in pairs. After a little more than a month, one of them began to leak. It's got to be a cheap rubber washer - The fact that each unit comes with a spare should have been a clue. Sure, I can replace it with a better one on my own, but I've lost faith in the product, which I expect to last a century or more.
Because the opening is so small, the hoses/pipes' psi rises to dangerously high levels. Because of hose connection leaks caused by increased pressure, I had to stop using mine. Of course, the 90-degree angle isn't helping matters.
I really like how it turns off and on the water. The water has a lot of pressure, which I'm not sure why, and it won't be suitable for everyone. There are no leaks, and the installation is simple.
I decided to work on our jungle-like backyard while I was stuck at home from March to late May, and I purchased various garden equipment from Amazon over the last few weeks. Our yard now has a lovely appearance.
It also comes with extra washers in case something goes wrong. You can't go wrong with any of these.
To get the female side of the valve to seal, I had to tighten it down really tight.
