In some ways, these are the opposite of what you'd expect from the industry You can make them wide. You probably can't buy the ones in the picture at a garden store and put them on. Spring unit typically has a thread inside so it can be attached to the hose - typically the spring unit comes with a screw. If you purchase this item separately, the price may be a bit higher. There are usually threads on the outside of the unit you mount on your water nozzle/s since nozzles naturally have threads inside. These "nozzle units" are quite inexpensive, and typically you buy multiple of them, one for each device you wish to connect to the water supply. Compared to what I described, I think the picture is showing the opposite of the threading.
The temperature can rise considerably above 100°F in this case. I don't think the rubber can handle steam very well, but I do think 200 is possible.

The following is difficult to explain, but I will nonetheless do my best. Considering they sell a separate set that includes four of the smaller connectors that may be needed with this single set, it doesn't do what most customers expect. A connector that allows me to switch from a hand sprayer to a sprinkler using the same hose would be ideal for me. They are threaded in a way that allows them to be attached to several hoses, but one implement would be able to be used if they were threaded together. It is best to use the large connector piece with the coupler on the end of the hose that the water comes out of, and then the small connector piece on whatever tools you attach to the Thus you can purchase the small connector pieces in bulk and have one for each tool you use from the hose end. There is a problem, however, since these pieces are threaded backwards, so the part with the female thread has to go on the water surface.
