Questions & Answers

I'm not sure which one is the most important. I was able to remove the arrowhead vacuum breaker, which I had been unable to locate locally. ?

We are available to assist you. With the vacuum breaker removed, use a tape measure to determine the outside width of the threads on the spigot. If it's a 1, it's a 1. You'll need the SM01 if you're working with a fraction of an inch or less. br>If it's a one-dimensional object, it'll be a one-dimensional object You'll need the SM01 if you're working with 1/8 or a little more than that. br>br>Alternatively, you can simply measure the inside threads of the adapter you just removed. It will be 1" for the SM01 or 1-1/2" for the SM02. For the SM01, 1/8" is required. 125

Is it possible to screw the Spigot Master into a backflow adapter that has already been installed?

After the Arrowhead back flow adapter is removed, it's designed to be screwed onto the spigot.

Is it safe to use this with a timed soaker hose?

If you have an external water source that can pull water back into the house water supply when it is turned off, you must install an anti-backflow device, according to the code. This can be avoided by using a siphon valve. When a soaker hose is turned off, I don't believe it can pull water back into the water supply. For this application, it should be fine.

Is the circumference of the middles the same for all of them?

If you're talking about the second half of a two-year period, Please see the product images for a comparison. Yes, those are all the same if you have the same chrome vacuum breaker as the one shown.

The product is well-made and works flawlessly
5/5

My home's utterly hopeless 'vacuum breaker' garden faucets had always been a source of irritation for me. They were leaky, unreliable, wasteful, and (as it turned out) extremely susceptible to death. Now, a reasonable company would design a faucet like that (which is clearly designed solely to meet a plumbing requirement that is there to mitigate a staggeringly unlikely confluence of equally unlikely possibilities) with the same thread on both ends, so that if it fails, you aren't left with no hose bib and can simply remove the offending part; unfortunately, they didn't. To appease some bureaucratic pen-guins, they made a terrible engineering decision. pusher. This company, thankfully, has a sensible solution to that issue. br>br>Screws right on to the previously broken faucet, transforming it into a functional faucet that doesn't leak, spurt, or fail at random. br>br>It's well-machined, straightforward, and simple to use. Perfect in every way.

This is nothing more than a physical adapter
4/5

There's nothing wrong with it, but the description is a little too imaginative. br>br>When you unscrew those anti-theft devices, You've got a spigot with a non-backflow adapter from your outdoor hose bib. thread that is common This is simply an adapter to convert the thread to that of a standard garden hose. There's nothing wrong with that, but it should only cost about $5, and you could accomplish the same thing by unscrewing the anti-theft device. Simultaneously, you could use a siphon adapter and simply drill out the insides; the result would be the same, and it would be free. br>br>I believe the correct code response is to replace the outdoor spigot with one that has a built-in anti-scald device if you're working on an unfinished space. Cut off the existing spigot and replace it with an outdoor spigot that has the mechanism on the inside, so you don't have to worry about shutting it off, if you have access to the backside of the spigot inside the basement.

Everything is in order - The old vacuum breaker was much easier to replace than I had anticipated
5/5

Last year, the Arrowhead vacuum breaker on the hose bibb in my back yard began to leak. I didn't think it would be possible to replace it, so I let it leak. But this year's leak was so bad that I had no choice but to act. After doing some research online, I came across a YouTube video about SpigotMaster. Then there was the issue of removing the old factory-installed (non-set screw) breaker from the spigot. I was able to easily remove the bottom part, but the top part was clearly not going to budge without a lot of force and even the use of two large channel locks - I was afraid of breaking the pipe inside the wall, which would have been a disaster, so I used one hand to keep the spigot from twisting and the other to unscrew the top of the vacuum breaker. So I assumed they'd used a threadlock compound, such as red Loctite, which I knew could be removed with heat. I heated the top of the breaker with my propane torch, then twisted it with my two channel lock pliers, and it came off fairly easily! The threadlock compound left a red residue in the threads after I removed it, indicating that I was correct. I recall that heating the Loctite to 250° C (482° F) was enough to break it down, and it worked for me. br>br>I also discovered that these vacuum breakers are not intended to withstand continuous pressure. I keep a hose attached with a self-contained self-contained self-contained self-contained self-contained self-con On the end, there is a nozzle that closes. The water heats up and expands when the hose is exposed to the sun, putting back pressure on the breaker - That could explain why mine began to leak. I'm currently putting a 'Y' on the SpigotMaster, despite the fact that I don't have a vacuum breaker connected. A 1/4-turn ball valve is on each output of the 'Y' connector. I connect the hose to one end of the 'Y' and turn on the valve - I close the valve on the other end of the 'Y' and turn on the water whenever I want to use the hose. When I'm done, I shut off the water and open the valve on the 'Y''s unattached end. This would prevent back pressure if I had a breaker, but even if I didn't have one, it keeps the hose from being under constant pressure, extending the life of my hose.

Broken Arrowhead Vacuum Break Spigot has been fixed
5/5

Amazon has corrected yet another flaw! I had an Arrowhead spigot that had a broken anti-corrosion seal. adaptor for siphoning Simply turning on the faucet would cause water to spill all over the place. After unscrewing that piece, I discovered that no replacement part could be found in any of the big box stores or local plumbing supply stores. As the SpigotMaster I needed required a 1 1/8" adapter, take measurements of the male end. This will fit the spigot and turn it into a vintage spigot. not having a vacuum breaker in compliance with new codes So I ordered a 3/4" vacuum breaker that would fit the SpigotMaster and BAM! The issue has been resolved. Before installing the SpigotMaster, apply plumbing dope to the threads. The SM01 is the first piece, as you can see in the photo. 125 The 3/4" vacuum break adaptor is the other component. I finished in less than a minute.
