I like the idea, but they aren't big enough to keep berries off the ground as the plants grow and expand, and the halves wouldn't stay together when clipped, but they needed to be separated anyway. Spikes didn't hold them down very well, but the plastic rings are well-made. Although I'm not sure why they were included, I liked the small plastic signs. For my herb garden, I labeled them all. They're absolutely adorable. Also, six rings are insufficient. If you order more of this, you will receive a discount. They didn't fit in my small bed, so I had to get more.
" It encourages plants to grow above ground. I use them for strawberries, but I also use them for other things. Tomatoes, melons, and being in close proximity to plants are examples. They are abundant in my garden, and I am grateful for them.
When I bought these, I already had strawberry plants that had survived the winter. I can't connect the two halves of the plants because two of them are too wide. Without harming the plants, connect the pieces of these supports in a circle. They were difficult to put together, and they don't appear to be very sturdy, but we'll see once the fruiting starts. Weeds are poking their heads through the cracks.
Last year, I lost a lot of berries because they were laying on the ground, so I used these units on my two-year-old plants; they are large enough that I had to use half a unit on some of my smaller plants due to overcrowding in the bed, but I believe they will still keep the berries off the dirt, so mission accomplished, I hope!.
My strawberries had been devoured by pill bugs. They won't climb up the plant to eat the strawberries if you put these around the smaller strawberry plants. Great! The larger strawberry plant was then divided into two halves. It had the desired effect. However, for more established plants, it would be a good idea to make them more adjustable so that you can make them as wide as you want. Thank you for producing such a wonderful product.
The melon support's legs aren't long enough to hold heavy fruit. When the fruit grew, pushing it down and allowing contact with the ground, the support became too close to the ground in my experience.
Simply cut these if you have a planter with multiple plants close together, as I did when I purchased mine. They're sturdy, but they can be cut to fit your needs.
These were purchased to go with my garden strawberries. The installation is solid/easy, but it doesn't always match the plant perfectly (you can't always predict how big something you seed will grow). I only gave it a 4/5 because it didn't fit perfectly in my garden, but I still use it whenever I can!.
