It's not a big deal. When you're close by, you'll hear a soft buzz.
I wasn't sure what I saw because all I heard was a brief noise coming from it, so I didn't return them.
No, I doubt it. It operates on the basis of vibrations and sound. It's only effective against pests that live beneath the ground.
Yes, moles, voles, and gophers are deterred by these mole repellers.

You can't tell if they're on or off just by looking at them. They should be turned off when first charging, but I couldn't tell which way the switch was facing, so I tried both ways for a couple of days. When charged and working, you should hear a slight buzz, but I never heard anything. Also, I didn't realize at the time of purchase that so many of the reviews listed were for a completely different item. What a waste of time; I'm going to start the process of returning them right away.
I've been using the Diaotec Mole Spikes since June 2020, and there are currently eight in use, and I've found them to be very effective, easy to use, and dependable, with only one failure after months of use. They are buried for the entire year. We've been fighting moles for years, finally killing one with a trap after destroying our yard trying to get the trap in the right spot. As shown in the photos on the other side of the walkway, the sonic spike keeps the mole confined to an area away from the grass. This product has exceeded my expectations.
To begin, each device is split into two parts. The directions say to just screw them together because the wires should already be connected, but they aren't, so I had to use needle nosed pliers to wedge the shorter half (which ended about an inch below the rim of the first piece) in place to begin the connection of the two wires - luckily I have small fingers. Couldn't press hard enough to fully connect, or the pliers couldn't hold it in place and grab it, or there wouldn't be enough room to fit the other wire in the narrow tube/stake. After that, once it was partially connected, I'd have to reach in with my thin, small fingers to complete the connection. My husband would have had no chance of finishing the setup. br>br>After that, I charged them by placing them upright in a window that gets at least 7 hours of sunlight per day for two days (as instructed). I set them up to receive only about 2-hours of video per day. They have 3 seconds of hummm before they peter out and run out of juice, and they are charged for 2 more days outside in full, all-out mode. without the benefits of the sun during the day br>br>Because they won't stay on, I'm not sure if these actually repel moles. br>br>The return process has already begun!.
The item itself is acceptable. When you try to lift it off the ground, it disintegrates, but it's relatively simple to reassemble. The issue is that it does not function. The vole dug a hole about 6 inches away from the spike, but it had no effect on the critter. The little vibrating buzzy sound does nothing to deter the voles from hanging around the other spike, which was about 2 feet away. They most likely use the vibration and massage because they don't seem to mind the noise or vibration. I've had better luck simply burying my cats' feces near the holes in the ground. Make a financial plan.
I was able to disassemble the unit and connect the components on my own. There are no instructions on how to solve this problem. So if the unit doesn't work, that's most likely the issue.
We charged them in the sun for a couple of days before planting them in the ground in our garden, where the moles were causing problems with the vegetables. If you're close enough, you can hear them making noise. They appear to be working well, and no mole holes have been discovered since they were installed a month ago. We like the yellow color because it makes them stand out among the weeds and grass. It was well worth the money!.
I gave this product plenty of time to work before returning it, even though it was past my return window. I thought they were working after a few weeks, but when I went outside this morning, I found mole tracks all over the device, which didn't seem to bother them at all. In fact, I'm sure a mole might have come across one and had to dig around it. This was a complete waste of money.
This was purchased to combat the moles that were destroying my lawn. I put them up at the recommended distance according to the instruction manual, only to discover that the moles were digging holes right next to where I put them up. br>br>I bought four, and two of them eventually stopped working because there was no sound coming from them. This item should not be purchased by anyone. br>br> It was a complete waste of money.
