My experience was similar; I contacted the seller, and they promptly replaced the entire item. They said they wouldn't be able to send just that small piece.
Although it is made in China, the quality is superior to that of a similar product made in the United States.

I didn't get a prompt or a reminder from Amazon to write this review. I'm writing because I think the product is fantastic. I'll tell you why I believe that. br>At first, I was thinking of getting a bypass lopper. After doing some research, I discovered that bypass loppers are the best for green branches. For dead branches, anvil styles such as this one are ideal. In addition, I discovered that fulcrum/compound leverage, as well as gear mechanisms, produce a strong bite while requiring less operator effort. And what about loppers with a single pivot point; Never buy one of those, in my opinion. br>For me, this was a win-win situation. I have a white pine with dead branches near the bottom of the trunk that needs to be trimmed. The days of using a handsaw are gone. A lopper is ideal for the job of assassination. This YARTTING Anvil Lopper with Compound Action is the lopper you've been looking for. br>An additional feature not mentioned in the description is that the anvil part has teeth that hold the branch in place while the sharp blade cuts it. Very thoughtful and clever. This gadget was well-thought-out and well-designed.
Warning: (As it should be) the blade is knife-sharp. The handles are solid and not hollow. From blade to handle, they are constructed of a solid, flat steel tang. On the opposite cutting base, the "anvil" is solid. Hands are at ease with it. This is a fantastic deal on a high-quality product. This is a well-made product that should last for many years of pruning shrubs, hedges, and trees.
These loppers made my day! Since the big snow, I've had several 1 inch dead branches that I've wanted to get rid of for a long time, and they still did an excellent job. I am a 70-year-old man with no health issues. My loppers, in fact, cut through those branches like butter, as I boasted to everyone.
