I needed a pair of loppers right away, so I went to my local hardware store and bought a pair of FISKERS to tide me over until they arrived. I reasoned that having two pairs wouldn't be a bad idea. When the Wilfiks arrived, they got right to work. For starters, they're twice as heavy as Fiskers, and they're not as good at cutting small items. The small, soft berry vines are simply bent. These will serve as a backup, but they will not be my first choice.
These are well-made, but you have to open the handles a long way to get a 1/2" branch in between the blades. They're too difficult to use as a result of this, but I don't need them very often. I wish I had gone to the hardware store and tried a pair of clippers in my hands before buying these online for the few dollars I saved.
I've been using these loppers for a few weeks now, and I purchased them to replace my hand-sized squeeze trimmers.
Pros: Cuts beautifully - Delivered sharp, all metal with no plastic blades to break (Fiskars Brand) or rubber bumper to break or wear out, huge hand fatigue improvement over one-handed squeeze pruners, convenient size when full-size loppers aren't needed
Cons: There aren't any flaws with the tool. It goes without saying that two hands are required, and there are times when having a free hand is advantageous, such as when holding a limb or other object.
My wife has some hand problems, so trimming was difficult for her, but this product uses both hands and is smaller than some loppers, so it works. This is a fantastic option for her to use in the garden. It appears to be well-made, and the handles appear to be strong enough for the trimming we'll be doing with it. I'm thinking about getting another one for my family.
This is the sweet spot where the pruning equipment (lopper) isn't too long, obstructing maneuverability, but you can still cut branches larger than what a single hand pruning shears can handle. I'm glad I bought it.
term use. I had a lot of bushes to cut back, and I'm sure I went after some branches bigger than this tool was designed for, but it's misaligned and not very sharp after a couple of intense sessions, but it got the job done. I'll be on the lookout for a long-term replacement tool. Use it for a long time, but only on smaller branches (maybe 1" or less) or it will wear out much faster than expected.
Clippers and large loppers are among the tools I have. I've been cutting up a lot of fallen branches for kindling, and this helps to break down some of them. (There was nothing like this small one in any store near me, so I was delighted to find it. ) ) thx.
Working well, very strong and powerful for short-handled, maneuverable loppers, I cut back two monstrous oleanders that had taken over my backyard. It made a difficult job a lot less difficult. For the price, it's a great deal!.
