It has a metal base but no weight. If the umbrella isn't bolted down, it won't support it when it's open. Instead of purchasing the weights they sell, I did just that. It comes with holes in the base that can be used to secure it to a deck or patio. That was extremely helpful to me. You'll need weights of some kind if you want to move it around.
I work with 200 pounds of weight. Personally, I wouldn't put my faith in anyone else, but we do have some windy days. The plastic weights that you fill with 50 pounds of sand work great. it appears to be attractive

For the price, this is a fantastic cantilever umbrella that can be adjusted in a variety of ways, including rotating and changing the angle. The umbrella was unboxed and set up in under 15 minutes by my husband. He secured it to the deck with lag bolts. Because it's so top-heavy, you'll need to either weight it down or bolt it down. Because the umbrella will be used outside, I also bought the umbrella cover that Le Conte recommends, and I'm very pleased with my purchase.
When it's completely flat, we wish it was a little higher, but we'll probably keep it tilted anyhow. We intend to decorate it with solar-powered LED string lights. We are a little concerned about how it will hold up over time because it moves quite a bit with very light wind, and we do not intend to put it up on windy days. At the end of the summer, I will provide an update.
I've only had it and used it for a few days, so we'll see how it holds up over time, but I'm very happy with my new patio umbrella so far. It's particularly appealing to me because it can be adjusted as the sun moves throughout the day. br>br>I was surprised to learn that it takes two people to put it together. Even when I was completely alone, it wasn't even close to being difficult. I suppose it's a little awkward for some to lift the umbrella section onto the stand. However, once the stand is put together, you can cradle the umbrella section and place it on the post before pivoting it into place. Everything is relatively light. br>br>As for operation, it takes a little effort to raise with the handle, but it's not too difficult; additionally, if you're not on completely level ground like me, I'd recommend rotating it into position while it's not expanded. You might be fighting gravity if you don't do so. That is, however, also possible. br>br>At the moment, I'm just using some leftover flagstone to keep it in place, which seems to work fine in light winds. However, once the rest of the furniture arrives and I figure out exactly where I want it, I'll bolt it into the cement with some tapcon bolts. br>br>In the places that matter (the rotating section and where it attaches to the stand), it appears to be made of reasonably thick metal. The thinner metal appears to be shaped in a way that makes it fairly strong as well. But I won't know how well it stands up to sea air until I've had it for a while; at the very least, it's out of the wind's direct path. br>br>One minor flaw I discovered is that when the wind blows, the canopy creaks a little, which isn't too bothersome, but it would be nice if they could eliminate it either by removing the rock or the creak. Regardless, I'm glad I went ahead and bought this umbrella. So far, it has proven to be a good investment.
I really like this umbrella, and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and durability of the construction! The swiveling and hinged functions are excellent and simple to use. The fabric appears to be excellent as well, though it appears that the corners where the fabric seams meet may tear over time, but we'll see! I'm going to cover mine when it's not in use in the hopes that it will last a long time! br>br>The best way to install securely and easily was to screw down to the joists. I used three three-inch spax screws, and it's holding up nicely. I was concerned because we have strong winds on our deck, but I am confident that this will hold up. br>br>If this goes on for another two weeks, After three years, the return on investment will be substantial.
It had rusted on the inside and had become stuck, preventing it from being opened. Rust was all over the place. It's a nice umbrella, but I had no idea where the rust came from when it rained. The company's in-box postcard then instructed customers to text them for a free umbrella cover. I did this on several occasions. After multiple attempts to contact them with no response, I decided to write a negative review. So I got a response, as well as a refund! br>Now, they text me every week from a guy named Jorden, asking for a better review late at night! He is relentless in his pursuit of a better review! Tonight at 9 p. m. , At 30 p. m. on a Sunday, I received another text, making it five in total, telling me to give them a better review because it will reflect poorly on them and his company! So, how's that for a bad review? STOP HARRASSING ME, STOP TEXTING MY CELL for a BETTER REVIEW! br>Updated Review: Seller contacted me and provided a refund, so I changed my rating to 3 stars from 1 star. After more than a month of trying to contact them, it was very nice of you to do so. But it was fine, and a refund was given. br>br>It's been less than a month since I got it, and it's already rusting out the bottom with each rain. When the box was delivered, there was a card in it with instructions on how to text for your umbrella cover. They didn't include the cover in their package. I left a comment on the cover in the seller feedback about a week ago. The seller has yet to respond. We gave the umbrella five stars at first because we liked it so much. I'm going to give it a one-star rating right now. Instead of buying, visit Lowes or Home Depot.
Finally, we settled on purchasing a market umbrella with a canteliver base. This is a fantastic umbrella. I was concerned that it would be too heavy or stiff for me to lift, but it glides effortlessly. The mechanics are simple to understand, and the coverage is extensive. I can rotate it 360 degrees and tilt it to face the sun! The material is heavy and the color is a rich dark brown. It's great that it has tabs for adding your own lighting to the umbrella's rim! Good job! Just remember to buy and fill your sandbags before it arrives so you can start using it right away!.
So far, everything has gone well. Setting it up was a breeze. In about 15 minutes, my 12-year-old daughter and I had it set up. 20 min. Because we hadn't yet screwed it down, my husband is standing on it in the photographs. Before it can stand on its own, it must be connected to something or have a counterweight. It's great that the stand swivels so it can be turned around. The fabric is nice, and I'm hoping it will withstand the sun this season. We've only had it for a few days, so if anything changes, I'll update this review.
