How Our Score Is Calculated

Product Description

In the United States of America, it was put together.
Frame made of aluminum
In Naples, Florida, in 2009, the beachBUB Base was born. The 2021 All-In-One Model is the result of thousands of hours of designing, engineering, and testing. Hundreds of regular beachgoers, just like you, have contributed to the development of this umbrella system, which we appreciate. This umbrella system is assembled, inspected, and shipped from our Greensboro, North Carolina factory, so we are only a phone call away if you have any questions or issues.
All beachgoers who have trouble with their Beach Umbrella have been given permission to use it. "The ALA has always been concerned about the serious hazards of Fly-Away Beach Umbrellas caused by unpredictable breezes along the coastlines, and we believe beachBUB offers a unique and easy solution that will prevent many injuries and even save lives in the long run," the American Life Guard Association recently stated. Consumer Reports Magazine's "BEST OF" for "Beach Umbrellas That Won't Blow Away" in July 2016 can be found here.
Wind gusts of up to 35 miles per hour were measured. Like a Patio Umbrella Stand on a Deck, it sits on top of the beach. There are no deep holes to dig, and no twist screws are used. Place the beachBUB tarp flat on the beach, use the beachBUB Sand Gopher to make a small hole, insert the bottom pole and connect two wings to form a pouch, fill the base halfway with sand, attach the third wing and finish filling the base, compacting the sand as you go to ensure that all three sides are firm and taut.
Its extra large carry bag, padded strap, and handle make it simple to transport. The umbrella and base together weigh less than 9 pounds (a gallon of milk or a 12-pack of your favorite beverage), and the base folds up to the size of a paperback book. When filled with sand, the base weighs 120 pounds, and it takes about one minute to disassemble and pack. A three-year protection plan and a three-year frame warranty are included with your purchase.

Questions & Answers

I've been staying at home baking cookies and knitting while he's at work, so I'm not sure I'll be able to take the kids to the beach without him. ?

Perhaps you should ask your husband the question while making him a drink and lighting his cigarette when he returns home from work to the aroma of freshly baked cookies and pot roast; with his encouragement and permission, you might discover that you CAN go to the beach without a man! ) And, by the way, that is an excellent question!

Is there any way to change the angle of the canopy? What are your strategies for dealing with the late-afternoon sun? The pole appears to be able to only be held straight up at the base. ?

Thank you for reaching out to us with your query. The tilt feature on a beach umbrella serves two purposes. Both are addressed by the BUBrella. To begin with, beach umbrellas have tilt features that aid in wind resistance. This feature isn't required for the BUBrella to withstand 35 mph winds. Second, tilting the umbrella as the sun sets provides shade. The beachBUB system takes a unique approach to blocking the sun's rays as it sets. To use, simply tilt the umbrella and base together. To tilt the entire umbrella, start by building the base as usual, making sure to completely fill and pack the sand as you fill it. The umbrella should be inserted and opened. Tilt the umbrella gently into the sun's rays while applying constant pressure. Up to 45 degrees of tilt was tested on the umbrella. After you've blocked the sun, all you have to do now is re-direct it. If sand has dribbled out of the base, fill it. The base's pyramid shape may also be distorted, but this has no bearing on the base's or umbrella's performance.

Is there any UV protection on the umbrella?

Thank you for contacting us, Dominick. Yes, the BUBrella is certified by the Skin Cancer Foundation and has a maximum UV rating of 50. UPF is a rating system for clothing and shelters with a maximum rating of 50, whereas SPF is a rating system for lotion with a maximum rating of 100.

This question has previously been answered, but it appears that some changes have occurred over time- Is the towel hanger still included?

Greetings, Dan.br>I appreciate your inquiry. Yes, it includes the Towel Hook as well as the Sand Scoop. br>Best wishes, br>Bill Schermerhorn, President, beachBUB USA

I'm more of a "taker" than a "giver" when it comes to product recommendations. I read them a lot but only write them once in a while. But I owe someone for this product, and now is the time to repay them. br>br>I've been going to the beach with my variously aged-group of friends. For the past 11 years, I've been breeding and staging offspring. We don't go light because we have four children, one of whom is in a wheelchair, so we don't travel light, and I've done my fair share of beach gear shopping and schlepping. br>br>Over the years, I've purchased a variety of beach shade devices in the hopes of finding "the one": br>1) Not too big or heavy to be carried in a single dadload (one bloody wagonload is sufficient); br>2) Sets up quickly (no trips back for more gear) (Without the need for a pre-made template) make a preliminary visit as well as - if not - When a single adult arrives, it quickly sets up shop before one of the offspring can make it down to the water. drown; AND it can be quickly dismantled in the event of an emergency diaper situation or a multi-person emergency. head of a child- exploding meltdowns necessitating immediate beach evacuation)br>3) Is wind-resistant (so you're not that dad clinging to the shelter with one or both hands while the rest of the family plays or relaxes - OR while your wife yells at you to get out of the %* only an umbrella – Risks of impalement by passers-by are a thing of the past - as well as physically- child restraint And forget about leaving it up if you want to go out for lunch and return without the worry that, at best, your tent will be a tangled mess a quarter mile down the beach when you return, and at worst, you'll have hurt someone). br>br>Various people have failed to meet all three of those criteria for me. a variety of pop-culture references tents, those colossal 4-person tents Canopies with legs, standard beach umbrellas, and the lay-out their- umbrellas on the side, and various shade shelters and tents Many people can do two of the three, but no one can do all three at the same time. Until now, that is. This is the real deal. Like Neo. br>br>The system as a whole is easy to understand. yet- a well-thought-out design, followed by a well-executed implementation It's a straightforward, straightforward, straightforward, straightforward, straightforward, straightforward, straightforward, straightforward, straightforward, Goodness, it's a well-engineered product that's made in the United States. br>br>The Sand Gopher is incredibly easy to use and provides a quick and stable hole. Not dug- Not some impossible plastic corkscrew that will break after you educate your children on the finer points of swearing like Ralphie's father - but loosely repacked sand that will give way. It's just a simple, well-kept recipe. The base is, of course, the main event - bored hole without disturbing the adjacent packed sand. br>br>The base is, of course, the main event - bored hole without disturbing the adjacent packed sand. br>br> Your umbrella must be held in place by 100 pounds of sand. But scooping from the world's largest supply of sand, which you're setting up on, takes only a minute or two. You can even make your children shovel the snow. It isn't difficult or time-consuming. And the hooks on the pole to which it is attached are solid and thick. hardware made of stainless steel gauge There's nothing here that's flimsy. cotter-type cotter-type cotter-type cotter-type cotter-type cotter-type cotter-type pin- It's also not exactly cutting-edge technology to attach pole sections in this manner - However, it is far more durable than most other consumer umbrellas' cheap plastic tension levers. There is no way the pole will come apart. I'm guessing the pole will break first, and it'll be attached to a stainless chain so you won't lose it. And then there's the pole. br>br> It's made of ALUMINUM. Why is it so difficult to locate among beach supplies? Why are they all made of painted (not even stainless) steel that rusts as soon as it is scratched (hello, sand)? The umbrella struts appear to be made of a tough and thick ABS plastic. Nothing flimsy about it, but it does have some flex to it, which is a good thing (as opposed to steel, which bends and rusts). br>br>The umbrella canopy appears to be thicker than that of most consumer umbrellas. This isn't a place for cheap nylon. Even the bag is - br>br> IT'S BIGGER THAN YOU THINK! There's no point in futilely attempting to cram something into a bag designed for a super-hero. It's a compressed, machine-folded version of itself that looks like it's refilling the tube with toothpaste. You simply toss it in and then add the extra-large piece of meat. sling a wide padded strap over your shoulder and marvel at how light 12 pounds feels. br>br>And you, at long last - for the first time - When it comes to beach games, you'll feel like a pro.

This is the second time I've used it
4/5

A typical day at the beach. Nothing . This is the second time I've used it. A typical day at the beach. This happens despite the fact that there is nothing unusual about it. On Monday, I'll call the company to see if a replacement is available. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> Bill Schermerhorn, the President of Beach Bub, contacted me after I wrote my review. We received a replacement umbrella in a matter of days. We are looking forward to returning to the beach with our Beach Bub soon, thanks to the company's prompt response and excellent customer service. br>br>I'm changing my rating from one to four. The only reason I didn't give it a perfect score is because it broke the first time I used it.

It was a windy day at the beach that finally did it
3/5

Last summer, I spent a lot of money on this umbrella. It was a fantastic purchase that I am extremely pleased with. Last July, I visited the Outer Banks, where there was a constant breeze. All of the ribs were broken as it flew away. I couldn't believe my eyes. I now rely on the lifeguards to provide a sturdy canvas umbrella and chairs. This occurred on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Disappointing in the extreme.

Given the positive feedback, I decided to give it a try
4/5

I can see why now. Within a year, my mother had used up two Tommy Bahama umbrellas. The plastic beams would bend and one would snap in half as the wind blew them up. br>br>After doing some research on umbellas, I settled on the Bub, which received rave reviews. I can see why now. This is an incredible umbrella. We just got back from the beach in 25 mph winds, and while everyone's umbrellas were blown away, our Bub stayed put! My mother and I were amused by the girls next to us who attempted to put up their umbrella and then promptly took it down after it blew over. br>br>There will be no bending because the beams on the underside are nice and thick. The material is nice, and the tote is a little heavier than a regular one, but it's still easy to carry. The only reason I gave it four stars was because you're supposed to make dents in the pole when you attach the ring to the umbrella's base. I suppose that's how you keep the rig firmly attached to the pile where the base is attached - After that, I was concerned about the pole's integrity, but it has held up admirably. I would strongly advise anyone to purchase this umbrella!.

What a powerful woman! Perfectly anchored, and the internal structure is extremely strong! Edit: Three years ago, I wrote this review
5/5

This umbrella is still as strong as it was the first day it was purchased. And, yes, we bought a second one, which also works perfectly. br>br>This umbrella is a beast, and everyone complimented us on it. Strong winds have been blowing in Myrtle Beach for the past seven days. Four different runaway umbrellas were impaling beachgoers one day, so we stopped them. This object did not move. It refuses to budge. It hardly ever rocks. Heavy-duty materials were used to construct the umbrellas' structure. One of our low-cost umbrellas broke when it folded up. Another snapped as it folded inward. (See photos) But what about this umbrella? Not even a smidgeon of a change of heart. It was well worth the money. In addition, those who sat under this umbrella received less sun exposure than those who sat under the other umbrellas. I was sceptical, to be sure. I despised paying $130 for something I didn't need. BUT, GUYS, IT WAS COMPLETELY WORTH IT. We're going to buy another one for next year.

Simply outstanding
5/5

This product is of excellent quality in every way. The umbrella is clearly designed for ease of use as well as long-term durability. It takes about three minutes to set up and fill the sand base with the umbrella, and once it's filled, it's not going anywhere. This umbrella's stability in high winds is due to more than just its base. The umbrella's superstructure is extremely durable. In a strong wind, a cheap umbrella will turn inside out, regardless of how stable the base is. This one is not going to work. I took it to the beach on St George Island, Florida, yesterday, and it held up for three hours against a steady 20 mph wind-- There's no need to adjust it because it's rock solid. This umbrella is well worth the money, and I can't say enough good things about it. PS I had planned to include a video with this review, but I'm not sure how to do it. It's enough to say that it supports the manufacturer's claims.
