We didn't include chair pads with the two we bought, but several people have commented on how comfortable they are. We believe the same way.
It's very simple to put together. It is simple to follow the instructions. There aren't a lot of pieces to assemble. I spent an hour putting three of them together.
If you order it separately, you won't be able to have it. The glider is absolutely incredible.
The seat in the front is 16" higher than the ground and slopes backwards. From the ground to the bottom of the front seat board's lowest seat board, there is a 12" clearance. Regardless of their height, every visitor we've had has enjoyed them.

Some screws were buried too deeply in the wood, while others were only partially inserted. Some holes were drilled incorrectly, including the back of the chair, which was an assy. It was incredible, and the design was terrible. VERY DISSATISFIED WITH THE PRODUCT; had to make numerous changes, including covering/filling holes in the arms! Description claims made by Amish, LORD, I hope not, must be Amish shunned trying to make money, based on the way the Amish make furniture. DO NOT put your money into this one; you might be disappointed!

My five-star rating is based on the price-to-value ratio, durability, and how much we enjoy sitting in them. Because reviews of the finished chairs indicated that the quality of the finishing (stain) was poor, I purposefully ordered unfinished chairs. Even for outdoor chairs, the wood was rough, so I'm glad I did it. Sanding made a huge difference for me, and I needed to sand them in order to be completely satisfied with them. Wood was missing on the edge of the board where two knots occurred, similar to a gouge, but this did not compromise the chair's structural integrity or overall appearance. Because there were no flaws like this on the upper parts of the chairs, the makers appeared to be careful to only use boards like this on the base, so be aware that imperfections may exist on the base pieces. I used a Behr outdoor transparent stain (which I don't recommend;) to finish them. difficult to apply evenly colored paint with a brush). They were easy to put together for my husband. The chairs easily accommodate him, and he is 6' 5" and around 300 pounds (the makers claim that these chairs can support up to 400 pounds, which is one of the reasons for my purchase). The gliding action is smooth and quiet, and everyone who comes enjoys it. My friend was so taken with them that she is purchasing one for her mother, who has been wanting a glider chair for quite some time. Overall, these are good, sturdy chairs for sitting and relaxing on the porch, and we are happy with our purchase. br>Update for 2017- We recently purchased two more of these chairs because ALL of our visitors, and we have a lot, loved sitting in them. The original two continue to glide silently and smoothly. All four of them have made us very happy.
The chairs are well-designed and constructed in general, but they could use a little more attention to detail. Two of the pre-eminent players were on one of the opposing teams. Only half-way through the wood were drilled holes. It took a little more time for me to figure out why the screws wouldn't go through during assembly and then drill them through. In addition, one of the cross connector pieces on the chair's bottom was made with an edge-to-edge design. a cut piece of wood with a partial bark edge rather than a squared edge. I was able to position it in such a way that it is not visible to the naked eye. br>br>Arrived quickly, and assembly was simple; would have been a five star if not for the above issues.
I was so happy with the first chair (see review below) that I ordered a second one because the first chair was always occupied by someone else, and I needed my own. The chair is now complete and was just as simple to put together as the first. This wood's grain is absolutely stunning. Teak oil, rather than Varathane or a poly colored stain, was recommended by my local lumber yard. The wood grain really popped once I applied the teak oil, and I'm told that the chair will weather the winter and still look great next summer thanks to the cedar wood and teak oil. That's exactly what we were looking for: a chair that didn't need to be stored for the winter. NOW - Here's an example of poor customer service: FedEx misrouted this chair to another state, and when it arrived, I could hear one piece of wood loose, so I wasn't surprised to find some damage. It wasn't a huge amount of damage, but it was noticeable enough that I knew it would bother me if I saw it, especially because it was on the armrest, where it would be exposed to more weather and wear and tear. This seller went above and beyond the call of duty! The damage was most likely caused by the shipper misdirecting the box, which was not his fault. He sent out a replacement piece IMMEDIATELY, and he sent it so that it arrived in two days instead of the usual five. That says a lot about a seller's professionalism in wanting to make things right even if it wasn't his fault; I would NEVER hesitate to buy from these people, not only because of the beauty of the wood and craftsmanship, but also because of the customer service, or should I say "Customer Caring. " " Thank you very much! The review I left on the first chair can now be found. br>br>Let me start by saying that I was hesitant to buy this at first because of some negative reviews. I'm so glad I listened to the positive feedback and went with my gut and ordered one. It is made up of seven pieces. Actually, the base is made up of five pieces and two small boards. Teak oil, rather than a polyurethane stain, was strongly recommended by my local small town lumber yard, who claimed that teak oil would protect and last longer in all weather conditions. We live near the sea and plan to use this chair throughout the winter. The teak oil is of marine quality, as evidenced by the way it accentuated the wood's grain. I was blown away by how meticulously the light colored boards were spaced to create a balanced pattern. I was particularly impressed by the care with which the top back board was cut so that the light part of the wood grain was centered. The chair glides quietly and is very comfortable with or without a cushion, indicating that someone paid attention and took great care when planning the cuts. Now - the simplicity with which it can be put together I'm 72 years old, and while my husband was out golfing, I put this together in under an hour by carefully reading the instructions. That could explain why it was so simple - Nobody wants to help unless they've read the instructions first. ) Take it seriously - The hardware is nicely bagged, and the instructions are simple to follow. I'm going to ask hubby about ordering a second one for us both. Thank you, manufacturer, for making such a wonderful chair.
After dealing with a lot of sub-par products, I'm relieved to be able to give this one a five-star rating. It was a joy to open these boxes, which contained standard products from other countries. The quality of the packaging was excellent. The instructions are written in English and do not contain any obnoxious grammar. There are no knots in the wood, and it is completely dry. Each chair takes about an hour to make, but it is well worth the time. The glides have excellent ball bearings, and they glide smoothly and comfortably. The chairs have a solid feel to them, and I anticipate many years of enjoyment from their perch. Thank you for sending me an Amazon item that works and makes me happy.
