My stock 1/4" hole size glider brackets had rusted and were in bad shape, so this was a direct replacement. Simply drill the 201/4" hole out to 5/16" and upgrade the bolts (also 100% stainless for that). So far, it's been great, with no signs of staining or rust after three months outside in the rain. weather. Yes, they are 100% stainless and heavier duty than the standard stamped metal (ie, the will rust type), but these are 100% stainless and heavier duty than the standard stamped metal (ie,% The bracket arm is roughly twice the thickness of the standard steel model it replaces. So, for me, the extra money is worth it because I don't think I'll need to replace them. I squirted some marine axle grease into the bearings for added protection, but it was probably overkill.
