They are not able to float in water. The wild duck that comes to our property to swim in a small pond also enjoys visiting our bird feeding station. She eats from the ground or grass, with gulps of water in between each mouthful (from a large dish on the ground), and she adores the seeds and pellets. The pellets must be consumed with water.
I'm sorry, but I'm not familiar with this information; I used mine to identify wild ducks. sorry
At my local stores, I can get a 40lb bag for the same price as this 5lb bag.
This is not something that squirrels eat. It was designed with ducks in mind.

This item is EXACTLY what new baby ducks need! They are powerful and healthy! There will be no issues with health or nutrition if you use this. And with 2-liters of capacity, this bag will last a long time. There are now four additional ducks!.
We took a trip to the north for a vacation. We've been feeding the ducks scraps and other things for a few years now. I decided to bring them some delicious food this year. They gobbled it up like crazy. br> Because of how quickly they ate, we nicknamed it duck hoovering. It was a lot of fun, and feeding the ducks made me feel a little better. This stuff does not float, so you'll have to feed the ducks on land. We used cracked corn after running out of pellets. The baby ducks enjoyed diving for it, and the other ducks ate it up, but it wasn't quite as good as the pellets.
I bought two kinds of duck food. Mazuri Waterfowl Maintenance Duck is the other brand that I bought from Chewy. Food for Geese This Purina Duck Feed is disliked by everyone, including the ducks. The woodland creatures are enthralled by the Mazuri brand. Mazuri's is loved by the neighborhood crows, mallards who visit my ponds eat it, and even my Siamese cat loves it (I have to keep the bag of Mazuri's safe from my cat). br>br>This Purina duck food rots away because it is not consumed. Another distinction to note is that Purina duck feed sinks in water, whereas Mazuri duck feed floats. Purina Duck Feed is not something I would recommend based on my personal experience.
I feed two elderly male ducks who have lived in our pond for at least eight or nine years. A mallard and a black American duck are the two species. They have clipped wings and are firmly ensconced in this location. I alternate the foods with corn, and they turn out to be quite tasty. A snapping turtle bit off one of the Mallard's feet, leaving him paralyzed and unable to walk. They wait for me to arrive at 5 p. m. every day to bring them food. Feeding exclusively on the food is a bit pricey.
Because the kind I usually get was sold out, I bought this to give to the ducks in my pond. These pellets sink so quickly that the ducks couldn't get a hold of one before it sank. They had been let down. These pellets are fine for ducks in your yard or elsewhere, but not if your ducks come to visit you on the water!.
The local ducks in our neighborhood are crazy about this stuff! When they see us approaching from across the pond, they flee. They eat it DIRECTLY FROM OUR HANDS! They resemble tiny web-like structures. This food is inhaled by footed vacuums. Every time my husband and I go for a walk, we bring a sandwich bag of food with us, and we always come back empty; it's so much better for them than bread or crackers. No, the food does not float, but if you feed them on land, they will devour every last bite. It's fantastic, and it brightens our day (as well as the ducks'!). Get some, if you don't have any already.
I returned home to a pile of duck feed on my front porch after two giant holes in the bags. I checked my cameras, and nothing had crossed my porch or gotten into the bags, so it was delivered in this condition. More than half of the product was spilled on the ground, far away from where I needed it. This was a complete waste of money. If the company wants to contact me and send me another product that isn't defective, is properly sealed and packaged, and is delivered with care, I'd be willing to remove this review, but otherwise, one star for the overall experience.
Our herding trainer, who has about 60 ducks, told us that this was the best duck food she could find. Please educate everyone about the fact that ducks cannot eat bread or crackers.
