Questions & Answers

The water shouldn't freeze. What can you do to prevent it? Have any suggestions/comments?

Thank you for stopping by! highlighted, we tested 10 of the top rated waterers on Amazon, and the best one was rated at 4.4 out of 5 stars Using a 250 watt heater from Farm Innovators on a cold night proved to be the best choice. A big advantage of this is that it turns on and off according to the water temperature, which is great in terms of saving energy. The new waterer is working out for you, right?

What are the dimensions of this object?

This waterer is 10" (W)x12" (L)x14" (H) and has 2 holes in it. Weight 8 lbs. Please update this listing to reflect the missing dimensions after we have received your request. Thanks for making us aware of this error. If you have further questions, let us know, and we'll be happy to assist you! I am really sorry about the inconvenience this may cause you. Sincerely, the RentACoop team

Are turkeys likely to benefit from this?

Despite never having raised turkeys, I would assume that it works the same way for them as it does for chickens. I love the fact that I can provide clean water to my birds in this way.

Is this a feasible method for a large number of chickens?

They work well for me because I have 18 chickens. A 1/2 week has passed since then.

The US as a whole seems to have lost the knack for GOOD customer service
5/5

How could I have been so My answer is yes. It was very nicely packaged, and as soon as I got it, I immediately filled it up with water (after making sure it was clean and free from debris, of course). It appeared clean, but I rinsed it off just in case. As soon as I introduced it to my chickens, they took to it immediately. A day after I received it, I got an email saying I had received it The email I received from Tyler and Diana at Rent a Coop asks how it works and how they can help if I contact them. I told them that two of the nipples are leaking. They will be in touch within 2 hours. It took them only 5 minutes to reply to my email explaining that maybe a small piece of debris got stuck in the valve and prevented the spring from closing. Besides explaining how to clean it, they also showed how to do so. My faucets were still leaking even after following the instructions. I was promised that they would replace those nipples by tomorrow and that I would receive them in the mail. The nipples they sent me arrived today and to my surprise, I received FOUR of them. Congratulations Tyler and Diana for delivering an exceptional level of customer service. If I ever need anything from them again, I will purchase from them again. I now want to discuss the product a bit further. I think it's a great idea to be able to have something that we don't have to wash every day or restock the water with every day. everyone knows chickens are extremely messy and any other waterer you have to clean every single day to keep it clean. In this manner you can fill it once and fill it up once every week or once every two weeks depending on how many chickens you have. It took me a while to find this one, after I tried a few others. The movies were a complete waste of time and It would be best to not hang the pail when it is full, and to not set it on the ground either. Put the pail on top of an old flower pot that is sturdy, then put that upside down on the ground. To make my own i used a wood block that's about 6 inches wide. There is one in the middle, about 5" high and the same diameter as the bottom. The structure will not topple over this way. As a result of this review, I hope that other people will be able to make up their minds about the product, and specifically the outstanding service provided by it.

The majority of prayers were We will need to find a solution to the chicken waterers, which have plagued our chicken coop for several years
5/5

Since we started keeping backyard chickens four years ago, we've struggled with galvanized wire 5 x 5 frames A gallon of auto fuel A galvanized waterer's welds lose their integrity after a few months, leaving the chickens "running dry", or a heated dog bowl that keeps water from freezing in winter but accumulates poop or sediment and needs daily cleaning. It is a seemingly simple device angels sang the day I installed it. We have seven lovely "girls" and I can add water once a week without the pool getting I haven't had any problems with the nipple. It was easy to teach the girls how to use it. There is nothing better than seeing through the eyes of a chicken. As I was setting it up, I put it on a wood block base about 8 inches off the floor, squatted down and hit all the nipples, then I invited a girl to come She continued to drink after I kept tapping and dripping for about 30 seconds, and as soon as another girl noticed, I knew they'd teach everyone, as there was no alternative water source. I probably helped them by not leaving alternate water sources around for them to turn to. Everything appears to be working fine. Next, I will have to figure out what to do to keep this from freezing in winter. am going to use the type of heat source that looks like a dipstick and you plug it in and drop it into a We're crossing our fingers for this to be the.

The leak is constant
3/5

As much as I really wanted this to be a solution to my winter chicken care, I would not suggest it. Despite replacing the nipples with new ones that the company sent me (which I checked were properly tightened), the leaks continue to occur everywhere. He makes a mess quite a bit.

Every once in a while, it's not too bad
5/5

It was obvious that my free range chickens were attracted to my nipple. This is certainly better than the hanging red dish that operates on a spring mechanism to switch on and off water. It is impossible to keep the water dish clean with that. The backup will serve as a safety net. It is always good to have backup! In contrast, gravity feed buckets and nostrils allow me to add electrolytes and apple cider vinegar to the clean water. will need some vinegar to adjust the pH level of this city water (it is a As a result, it helps the hens digest their food. It lasts one week with 12 hens and a 5 gallon bucket. Put a lot of stuff in there! Every once in a while, it's not too bad.

The heater has been added for the It is recommended to use the Farm Innovators C250 (as suggested in another comment). Perfect! There's no need to try anything else! It was a long process for them to figure things The answer is yes, of course. It wouldn't surprise me if a bird pecked the red nipples if it became curious. As time goes on, the rest also follows. They all had problems connecting to the nipple, but they fixed it on their own after a week of trying. Watering with a hose is much easier than messing with the metal waterer that leaks every time it's not level or positioned perfectly. There is less moisture in the coop, so the water stays cleaner. The anti-war movement really appeals to me The lid of the roost. The heater cord is in the bucket, so I used adhesive velcro to keep it in place. I could have drilled a hole at the bottom to keep the cord in place though. The only issue is the complaint. It would be nice if they had made the top of the bucket a split lid so that I could leave the heater cord down inside the bucket instead of having to fuss with it while filling it up. The solution for this problem was to simply replace the top of the bucket with a Cat litter bucket top (like tidy cats litter) which fits perfectly. Fortunately, it already had a split top, which meant I could drill a hole in the smaller part of the lid and thread the heater cable While that portion of the lid remains snapped closed and untouched, I can raise the larger portion of the lid to fill the bucket easily. I was also able to solve the lid problem that way. I give it four stars because it is rather cumbersome to unsnap the top. at this time of year! As a result, it can be very difficult to take off when you are filling up the bucket with water. As the cat litter top is released from the bucket, it snaps gently back into place. It would have been great if I had found this There are all kinds of heater buckets I've tried, and this is the simplest and cleanest. You're awesome! I'd give it a million times over! Now that I've been using the bucket for two months, I'm familiar with its capabilities. No issues with the nipples or anything like that.
