Questions & Answers

What is the durability of these when exposed to negative weather?

A heated bucket with a capacity of two gallons holds them. In the nipples, there was a large amount of frost It was a windy day, with 24 and 20 mph. It did not freeze up at that time There has been no wind since 29. Product of great quality.

What kind of results can you expect for quail with these?

In short, yes.

What if I want to use them ?

are working vertically, but for what reason?

In the cup's case, I have to replace the trigger since my chickens will not open the cup enough to allow them to drink Is this something they'll have to peck at?

It is indeed necessary to activate these to make them work since they need to be nudged by the birds beak to release a bit of Although my birds did not like the cups I've tried these are much better than the other ones. Before I put the water in the waterers, I add two tablespoons of Karo syrup to a gallon of water that I am nipple training. In the beginning, I think they like the sweetness and it helps them learn to awaken the nipsles because they want to.

The morons are wrong - don't listen to them You are so talented! It has never happened to me that a product was plagued with negative reviews by I absolutely love these because they're cheap, easy, and they're a fantastic option

Their nips do not freeze as easily as vertical ones, and their nips inherently resist leakage better than vertical ones. While installing them, you should be aware of the following * * *- A thin surface. To drill a hole in a walled plastic, I wouldn't use an 11/32", but rather I would use a 5/16" drill bit. A tighter seal will be achieved. I. - The walls of the house were thick 11/32" is definitely the proper size for buckets made of plastic (PCV or HDPE). did not have an 11/32" bit so I used a 5/16" bit and screwed them in only 1/2 inch deep The third of the way has been reached. The UPDATE appears silly, but it is a perfectly functional feature unless temperatures are below zero. The screws will ice up very quickly if they are not fully screwed into the plastic in freezing temperatures. Since then, I have purchased an 11/32" bit to fix the I. - It is never advisable to use silicone or Teflon tape on these (or any other nipple). In the event of a leak, you have already done something improperly, and doing these things will only cause MORE leak concerns rather than resolve I. - In your material, ensure that the diameter is adequate. It is your friend if the walls are flat (ish). It wouldn't take much water to cause a crack in 3-inch I. - The most important point is NONE of the bolts should be undertightened or overtightened! Leaks will occur in both cases! Using the "installer" tool is not necessary. Putting the threads together and lightly snugging them down is the best way to tighten. Once you have filled your container in FULL (very important), submit it. There should be a leak, of course. A rag is a handy thing to keep around. After this, you should tighten the nipple slowly by hand. You should dry the nipple frequently with the rag. Ensure there are no leaks by alternating tightening and drying. It's important to maintain a tight seal at all times to avoid leaks. I'm guessing that the amount will be far less than you thought. There are six waterers I made from both vertical and horizontal nipsles. There have never been any leaks in my house. My fingers are the only thing I've ever used for tightening

Finally, these are not recommended for new born There is a lot of force in these springs. It is recommended that chicks are at least two weeks old, according to the manufacturer. Having their nipples horizontal was introduced to our babies at about two weeks. Ours were four weeks old before they really mastered them. Within a few minutes on their first day, the chicks had learned how to spin their nipples. I wish you a happy watering of the chickens!.

PLASTIC PANEL CAN BE INSTALLED EASILY, EVEN ON THIN WALLS
5/5

It took the chickens less than one minute to figure out how to operate the valve. So far, there have been no leaks or clogs. This is attached to a trash can with a lid of 20 gal. The water doesn't need to be refilled as often and no mess is created. They work in flexible plastic containers as well as thicker rigid plastic containers. Worried that the threads would be difficult to insert, but they work in thinner flexible plastic containers as well. Make sure you do this step by step Clean holes can be made in thin materials by drilling. I'm going to drill a small hole in the lid so a flag on a dowel can be loosely attached to the float in the tank by inserted through that hole. From across the yard, this allows for an easy visual inspection of the tank's water level. We plan to run thin water lines to the henhouse and then use a drip refiller or a float valve to keep the tank topped off. We should not have problems with freezing 20 gal during the winter due to their thermal mass.

If you don't leak, then it's great
4/5

Fixing this is not too difficult, however. We were having freezing issues with our vertical nipsles in temperatures under zero, but when they ran as intended, they were awesome. Despite hitting double digits, they have not frozen. We have only one problem - 1 of the 5 nipples has a rod that drags, which means it doesn't seat right after a chicken uses it, which resulted in our chicken emptying a 5-gallon bucket Under zero degrees Celsius, there is a huge problem. In order to determine if cleaning it will fix it, I am going to take it apart. I've edited it We took out the one that was leaking and inspected it more carefully. It turns out that the spring was not properly seated inside, and it was keeping the o-ring from moving freely. Keep the sealing ring in place. It was very easy to reinstall it with a knife, and now it works great!.

I've purchased several products so far and this one is the best
5/5

I really like it. My previous chicken waterer nipples were much better so I bought these as a replacement. It helps to seal the connection with the rubber gasket. As the drill goes - The bit installer tool makes it easy to screw the nipples into the holes straight and prevent damage to the holes. To cut a hole in the plastic bucket, I recommend using a Step Drill Bit so that there are no burrs or damage to the edges. Here's the one I used I installed the nipples four inches above the bottom (instead of the recommended one inch) so that I could connect a Pail Heater to the nipples. In this way, the water is not allowed to drop below the heating element, which could cause damage. The K&N has always been my go-to formula A pet pail deicer for H-type pets. Furthermore, I cut a hole in the top of the bucket to allow the heater cord to pass.

This is excellent

Then read on! My chickens only took one day to figure out how to use this on my pvc feeder system because it was easy to install. In comparison to any other waterer, it conserves water and keeps the flooring much cleaner. The next time I order, I'll buy more.

I really like these! The farm we operate is primarily devoted to pastured poultry
5/5

I really like these! The farm we operate is primarily devoted to pastured poultry. In the past few years we've tried every kind of drinker you can imagine. There is a drip on the vertical nipples. It took me a little while to get used to using these, but they did work for me. Thank you so much for inviting me! You're going to love them! There is no leakage (except when installed incorrectly) and no residue on the drip tray. We just ordered more and will be upgrading all our drinkers to these as soon as possible. You won't be sorry if you order them!.

This is an excellent product! Exactly what I was looking for! Nipples like these are great for watering plants
5/5

There was an immediate reaction from one bird when it saw the bright red color. The kid was all over making the water come out after I demonstrated how to do The entire process took less than a minute. When you can teach just one bird how it works, then all of them will quickly catch on. Using buckets like mine, you will have to drill a small hole near the top to help prevent the water from vaporizing. Make sure air gets into the container in order for water to displace.

Excellent product - highly recommended They are a great company and I recommend them to any one
5/5

I love these. Using can waterers that filled with droppings was a problem. We have had other nibbles that drip in the past so they have been kept outside. These are great for in the coop where we do not want water to drip all the time. I would recommend them without hesitation! Installation with the tool is easy thanks to its ease of use. It is very important to remove all other sources of water from your chickens' environment before training them to use them. We took away all of the other water and they were able to figure it out without any confusion.
