I tossed mine after leaving it in the bag until it was eaten. I'm not sure if it'll work with moldy soil; I'm inclined to say no, but I'm not sure. After that, I went to Amazon and ordered more seeds, which I planted in small planters.
I begin by dampening the soil bag and removing 2 TBS of soil. In the kit, you'll find a bag of grass seed. Cover with 2 TBS of soil and 1 TBS of seed. It only takes a few days to grow grass if you water it every day. Keep the grass growing on a sunny window sill until it is fully mature. In the kit, I always have more seed than I need.
If the grass is eaten by the cat, we replace it in the window so that it can grow again. We must discard it after the second use.

In a lot of ways, this cat grass was incredible. Everything was packaged in a small box, which included three pop-up bags of soil and one packet of seeds. Because I planted my seeds in smaller flower pots, I used less soil than I needed. The seeds sprouted on the third day, despite the fact that the instructions said they should take 10 days to grow. I have no words to describe how ridiculous it makes me feel to buy cat grass. My southern cat, on the other hand, has recently been relocated on the spur of the moment. willy-nilly to a place with three months of snow cover, and I also assumed she had persistent hairballs (wrong, it could be asthma, but that's another story). I had already attempted to purchase a small amount of it- A tuft of cat grass had sprouted. She enjoyed it and chewed it all the way to the end. This one was $7. It was small, it vanished quickly, and despite being properly watered, it was dying back. This is a much larger bunch of grass than the one I ordered. She chews it every day, but it has managed to stay ahead of her so far. Because you start from scratch, it grows and thrives for a very long time, and you get three packets for a lot less money than the pre-made ones. I used to get the grown-up kind. Great results from a simple process.
I received it, followed the instructions, and then placed it under the plant light I use to start other plants, and it grew tall enough to put out in 5 days with no cat interference. They went over to smell it, but that was the end of it. Nobody comes near it because it's sitting on the floor. It was a complete squander of funds! br>I should have waited a few days because my cats are currently devouring it. I originally gave it one star, but I've changed it to five because it's exactly what I expected. If your cats do not eat this right away, I recommend giving it a few days. Because my cats have a habit of eating plants, I decided to get something that they could eat safely. Instead of using the plastic bags that come with it, I used a decorative planter. Growth can be seen within a few days, as shown in the image. When the grass became too long, it began to flop over, so I trimmed it with scissors. The only issue is that I killed them by overwatering them. It was entirely my fault, but I would recommend them because they are very cute. Only use a small amount of water at a time.
