Completely cover the soil. To achieve the dense growth shown on the package, I placed 3/4 cup of seed in a 5" round container. It's a hit with both my cat and dog. I then filled an 8" container with soil and completely covered it - 2 seeds deep (at least 1 1/2 cup seeds). thick. It grew up and out, and had a lovely growth pattern. It was lovely, and they particularly enjoyed it when the greens were young and tender. It will sprout quickly if you soak the seeds in hot tap water for 30 minutes before planting them. Greens should be ready in 3 minutes. 4 days.
I use a teaspoon to cover the soil area in the pot with seeds, then spread them out with my fingers so they don't touch. To get full lush grass in the pot, I use enough seeds to generously cover the soil area. I hope this information is useful:
I've had great success with coconut coir. Indoor potting soil bricks from The Cat Ladies, also available on Amazon, are what I use. It's made of coconut coir and is specifically designed for cat grass, but it can also be used for other plants. I wouldn't use regular potting soil for something my cats would chew on because some of it contains poisonous fertilizers and parasites.

Our cat can't get enough of it! She knows I grow it in the kitchen window, so she stands against the lower cabinets, looks up at the window, and meows at me on a regular basis. She's always on the lookout for a new grass pot. She also gets a new pot of grass because she's a cat. br>br>After soaking the seeds for about a day, I sow them in 4" clay pots, cover with a thin layer of planting medium, and they germinate in about 2 days. In about ten days, she'll be able to eat them. I suggest cramming a lot of seed into a 4-quart container. 1 tablespoon (or more) in the pot You can empty the pot, chop up the roots and remaining potting soil, and reuse it once it's been chewed down. There's no need to use new potting soil every time because this seed will grow in any medium.
It's super easy to grow and grows quickly; my cat loves it, and it looks lush and green. I would strongly suggest it. I'm seeing a decrease in desire to go outside and a decrease in desire to eat other house plants, which is a huge win.
Fresh grass is a favorite food of mine. I had been using a kit that contained only oat seeds, which was adequate but expensive, and I didn't require the kit. I've been using two 4-planter containers and starting seeds in one while they eat the other. This seed mix is not only cheaper per pound, but it also appears to have a more varied flavor profile - more time-consuming lasting - They appear to be equally enjoyed by the cats. I don't soak the seeds like the vendor recommends - Simply moisten the soil in the pot, scatter seeds in a moderately dense, single layer, and cover with about 1/3 to 1/2 inch of (damp) soil, lightly tamped down. They begin to sprout after a couple of days. After a few days at room temperature, I move them to a windowsill and water the soil as needed. They grow quickly, and by the time they are around 5-years-old, they have reached their full potential. 6" tall, I leave them out for the cats to find if they haven't already.
This is fantastic. A couple of tender blades have passed my lips. It's made up of four different seeds that are all good for you: Hard red wheat seed, barley, rye, and oats are some of the grains used. It grows quickly (I put small rocks in my planter to help sprouts root better and to give them something to cling to when my cat pulls them out!). ) When I have this, my cats are very gentle with my other plants. They only eat kitty grass and take great pride in their small garden. I guess I'll need a grow light in the winter to keep them from throwing up so much! This is the second time I've purchased this item.
This is an excellent cat grass mixture: The seeds appear to be evenly distributed, and they grow consistently well in about a week. If you pre-order, you can get it in 5 days. soak, though you'll need to factor in the 36-hour soaking time, so it'll take a week in either case. I'd say it lasts about 10 days at most, but I grow a new pot for my cat every week, so it's not a big deal. Fresh, juicy grass, not withered old grass, should be available to cats at all times!.
This grass is absolutely gorgeous. If you follow the instructions, you'll get thick, juicy grass, which my cats adore.

I've grown cat grass in the past, but not in large quantities. I simply buried it in a quarter of a cup of moistened soil and 2- I have sprouts three days later, and I give it to the cats in less than two weeks. Even though the soil I'm using is devoid of nutrients, it produces excellent results. I water it every day after it sprouts and use grow lights because it, like any plant, will bend toward light, and I don't have to rotate it to keep it from doing so. I haven't tested it, but it appears to germinate quickly. I sew a lot, so it's not an issue for me. Pictures were taken on Thursday night after planting on Sunday night, with an extra week added for the taller plants. Today I started leaning, and tomorrow I'll give it to the cats.
