This is what I would recommend: a lot more water. and possibly the maximum green. With those three ingredients, you could have a much greener and healthier lawn in as little as two weeks. 3 weeks. When laying seed, use a hard comb rake or a 'garden weasel' or similar tool to rough up the ground a little. Remember that seed sown on hard rocks will sprout quickly but die, whereas seed sown in good soil will produce a 30-fold increase in yield. 50 times the amount of material used in the sewing.

There was not a single blade of grass to be found. When I added Scott's Turf Builder, all I got was Sedge. br>br>Filled a patch of grass dug up by the gas company with Sun and Shade mix and the Sunny bag, following the schedule on Scott's website. I'll have to hire a professional to come out every two weeks now. It will take at least 3 years to get rid of it in 3 weeks. Yellow Nutsedge can live underground for up to ten years. It's now on my property. Each Sedge sprout has 6,900 underground tubers that are seeded by a single shoot. br>br>Now the Nutsedge has spread throughout the rest of my lawn. br>br>I've been taking care of this lawn for 25 years and have never seen anything like this. I had to look it up on the internet to figure out what it was. It's not worth it. br>br>.
I'm ecstatic about the outcome. I raked the dead spots, puffed up the seed, and watered it regularly (thank goodness it rained). I would have been content if only one blade had grown - Instead, I've got new grass growing in nice patches! It's nothing short of a miracle (I'm a complete novice when it comes to lawn care). I'll clean up the dead spots a little more next time, and I'll probably mix the seed with some fresh soil to boost growth. Overall, I'm happy with the preliminary findings.
We tried a variety of grass seeds and brands, but none of them were successful. Then we placed an order for this Scotts turf builder, and presto! There are no unsightly holes in our green grass. It's easy to spread, and it takes about a week to work. If your lawn isn't looking its best, get some. This is effective! PS Spread it out right before it rains to keep the birds away.
This seed did not germinate in a bare backyard with no trees, plenty of sunlight, and plenty of water. So far, the sunny mix hasn't worked for me. I did, however, replant with sun. Even though it was a "sunny" area, the grass grew well in the shade mix. If it makes a difference, this was done in the fall, but I recommend skipping this mix and instead opting for sun. Scotts provides the shade.
I used to be employed by a landscaping firm- As a result, I am well-versed in the art of successfully growing grass seed. Because not a single seed germinated or grew, this grass seed must be very old. I basically squandered my money and will now have to redo it at a local shop.
The outcomes are amazing. My lawn has never been as lush as it is now, two years after a single seeding. I bought another Scott's product (sunny/shade mix) last season, and it was mediocre in comparison to what I had previously achieved. The sunny mix doesn't require as much sun as you might think. Syracuse, New York, is where I currently reside. I'm going to buy the sunny mix for my back lawn right now because I cleared my backyard last year in preparation for this, but I waited longer than I should have!.
After that, I spread a layer of compost/manure on top. After that, I spread the seed over the compost and mixed it all together with the aerator. Straw has been added. If it didn't rain for two weeks, I watered the plants in the morning and evening. Within a week, I began to see results. My only gripe is that this new grass makes my old grass appear unkempt. I'll buy it again and use the same method.
These are by far the worst seeds I've ever purchased. I can't express how dissatisfied I am enough. My lawn was completely devoid of grass. My lawn person is baffled as to what is going on. All I know is that I will never again purchase these seeds.
