Pennington seed is something I frequently recommend to my cool-season lawn clients as a lawn specialist because I know it looks great. The sun is a great lawn booster. The shade appears quickly and is a beautiful dark green. Blades are thinner, but not excessively so. The first time I seeded, I raked and packed peat moss and Milo into the topsoil before I started watering. I seeded again with Pennington Tall Fescue a month later after it came in, and then just seeded with another round of sun. Boost your lawn's shade. Once it's in, make sure it's mowed on a weekly basis. When it is tall, it lays down. You'll need to buy more than one to get a truly full, thick lawn, as is typical of all lawn care product companies. I seeded two bags per 1,000 square feet, but my lawn was bare dirt, so I needed more coverage. I just purchased two more bags of fescue booster to plant before it gets too hot! I'll keep buying them as long as they're available.
I'm not happy with this purchase, but I'll keep you updated if the grass grows. This bag is not a 9. 6 pound (approximately 7 pound) 6) They don't cover the entire 1200 square foot area. , just in case you weren't aware. Also, the bag contains mostly fertilizer and granules, with only a small amount of actual seed, so I'm not optimistic that this will work. In any case, the $17 I paid for them was a waste of money.
Does exactly what it says it will. Green-up efficiency is exceptional. Even in this year's terrible New England spring, with multiple temperatures below 40 degrees, germination took about 6 days. br>br>Avoid applying fertilizer on windy days because it is powdery and will blow around. A drop spreader is probably the best tool for the job.
The seeds have only just begun to sprout.
Or ever. But, to be fair, we had a long period of rain (weeks), and I had purchased straw to cover the seeds. That, I believe, was extremely beneficial. As a result, I essentially dispersed everything. It slipped my mind. It's perfect now, after a few weeks.
In central Florida, I've had the most difficult time growing grass due to a large shade tree planted over the area. following the purchase of well-known brands, and so forth. THIS ONE HAS PROVEN TO BE THE MOST EFFECTIVE. Within days, it proved to be viable and grew.
You must water the seed at least once a day, if not twice a day, for at least four weeks to see any growth.
I've been watering twice or three times per day for two and a half weeks with almost no results; I've tried several other brands since May and they've all disappointed me. Initially, the yard was tilled. Over the seed, a premium mulch is applied. 4 1/2 months and still spotty at best; it seems to take nearly a year to get decent coverage in hot north central California, no matter how much you water. Regardless of the manufacturer's claims, don't expect "sprouts in six days. " If there is, they will most likely die in the same amount of time. Growing a new lawn takes time and effort, and you must truly "nurse" it. br>In regards to "Value": I gave it four stars because, for some reason, the price nearly doubled after I placed my order! So there you have it. At this time, I would not purchase at this price.
