Yes, as long as it's planted in the appropriate season and has a chance to grow.
It is. Bluegrass is TTTF. With 1-, it stays green. 1 1/2 inches per week is the average rate of growth. I live in 80015, which is a wonderful cool-season grass.
I'm in Albuquerque, and I believe it turned out well. I used germination blankets to aid in the establishment of my new lawn, but I don't believe they were necessary with the sprinkler system in place. The sqft in the description refers to the amount of seeding that needs to be done. I believe the cost of the new lawn is around 1500 dollars. So I'm going to have to get a new bag because it's a little thin in some places, but it's growing beautifully where it has good coverage.
Either method can be used. Contact with the soil is required for the seed to germinate. Aeration, dethatching, and overseeding are the best methods. If you have any dry hard dirt areas, scratch the surface with a metal rake first to loosen the soil for seed to soil contact. After that, everything revolves around water! The seed should be moist but not soaked at all times. It must also be kept moist until it germinates, or else it will go dormant. Birds to be aware of Seed is what they eat. If you see them all over your lawn, either turn on your sprinklers (which I can control from my phone) or let your dogs out (if you don't have any, get some). Otherwise, your entire seed supply will be consumed.

This is my second purchase of Black Beauty grass seeds; the first time I bought 10 bags from an amazon seller, I returned them. Then I went to Amazon and purchased two bags. It was the wrong grass seeds on both occasions. The bag was worn and had no resemblance to the image. This was the pasture mix, so I peeled one of the labels off. To double-check, I went to Jonathan Green's website, and it turned out to be their pasture mix. The bags I bought both times from Amazon and the nursery were called Ultra beauty, and they had the same writing word for word. It was actually seeds from a pasture mix. They just slap a label on it that says "ultra beauty. " BEWARE! These grass seeds aren't the right kind. I've previously purchased a 10 pound bag. It appeared to be what was advertised on their website, rather than the 25 pound bag. It does not appear to be a current bag, but rather a first-generation bag. I'm never going to buy another Johnathan Green book from Amazon. They will not sell you grass seeds that are suitable for your needs. Right now, I'm completely enraged. Take a look at the images below to get an idea of what I'm talking about The new black beauty bag is shown on the left. The bag appears to be older on the right. This is the one you'll end up with. This is the green pasture mix by Jonathan. It's not Black Beauty Ultra, to put it that way. I'm just warning you not to buy it because you'll make the same mistake I did.
This received a lot of praise at first, but after full growth, it turned into a lot of tall fescue. If you don't want tall fescue, please stay away from this grass; I spent a lot of time this spring hand-pulling tall fescue from my large lawn. I spent a lot of time and money hiring laborers to hand-pull and remove these. br>br>In addition, I do not recommend planting in the summer; I did mine last year in the fall rain and sprayed three times per day. Yes, I saw a good result at the time, but I had no idea that the majority of them would turn out to be tall fescue grass. I despise them. I hope this has been of assistance to you. .
I planted them on half of my back yard on October 28 just to see how they would do, but I had no expectations. Six days later, on November 3, tiny shoots appeared. Everyone says grass seeds take a long time to grow, so I was taken aback. On November 12, 15 days later, there was even more grass growing steadily, and on November 20, there was even more grass growing steadily. My yard had filled out nicely 23 days later, which was yesterday. There are a few bare spots that need to be filled in, but it's only been 23 days and the grass is still young. I was so excited that I went out and bought more seeds to do the rest of my yard. I planted them on November 15 and yesterday, November 20, I noticed some sprouts. I used (Scotts turf builder starter food for New grass Weed Preventer) to prepare the soil, as well as garden soil (which I didn't have much of) and even the area that didn't get garden soil grew grass. I also used epsom salt in the soil before planting, and then peat moss and potting mix to cover the seeds once I ran out of peat moss. This saved me from having to buy grass Suds for the front yard, which I had planned on doing. Make sure to water the seeds frequently.
This seed was purchased in two bags for re-use. My lawn needs to be seeded. The results from the first bag are satisfactory. maybe 50- germination rate: 60 % I followed the package's instructions to the letter. The second bag of seed I bought yielded no grass at all. The seed was extremely dry and the bag appeared to be old. It's most likely obsolete. The refund window has closed, so I won't be able to get my money back. As a result, I'll never buy another bag of Jonathan Green seed from Amazon again in my life. I'll get the next bag of seed from my neighborhood hardware store, where I can be sure of good quality and germination rates. Yes. The soil had been de-mined Thoroughly thatched and aerated from the core I used top-grade compost, starter fertilizers, mulched on top, and watered the lawn twice a day. Nothing. I couldn't find a date stamp on the second bag, but it was obvious that it had been sitting in the warehouse for a long time. It's all about living and learning.
This, however, is the best. The blades are thick and the growth is strong. To have nice even germination, you must properly prepare the soil and top dress with peat moss, which takes time but is well worth it! I killed my old lawn with a chemical spray and waited a month to make sure the chemical was completely gone. I scraped off the entire top layer of soil/dead grass. The soil was then hand tilled, and a light layer of new top soil was added. After spreading the seed and covering it with peat moss, there was incredible growth in just 5 days.
This is a product that I've been using for a long time. I bought this on Amazon this time as a test to see if I'd get fresh seed or rebranded/multi-year-old junk, as I've had happen with other brands. When I bought this, it had only been packaged for about 4 months. It was new and exciting. and the price was 20% less than that of the retail stores br>I'm going to buy more- Jonathan Green is proud of their product, and they do not allow old seed to rot on the market.
I decided to try again in the spring. Topsoil and fertilizer were used to prepare the area. Re- On April 3rd, I seeded my lawn. On the second reseeding attempt, there was no growth. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT AS IT WAS A WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME.
UPDATE: I'm going to give it a four-star rating now. Yes, the seed was expired when I received it, but it does take longer to germinate than other seeds, as others have stated. However, it is fitting in well in a number of areas. It's now been three weeks. Unlike Scotts seed, which appears to be half weeds, this grass has a nice appearance. Customer is very pleased. br>br>I'm not pleased. I spent more than $80 on 25 pounds of stale seed. On 9/7/19, I used this bag to aerate and overseed my 5000-square-foot lawn, which is supposed to cover 10,000 square feet. Set sprinklers to water lightly every 6 hours after dropping grass starter fertilizer. After a week, So far, there's been nothing. Next week, I'll provide another update. However, he is aware of the importance of keeping track of the expiration dates. I bought a bag with the intention of overseeding half of it now in the fall and the rest in the spring. I just threw it all away because it was old.
